When their entire relationship is toxic, but they're both so fucked up that it's actually the best case scenario, because subjecting anybody else to either of them would be a human rights violation.

People who don't hyperfixate will never know the slightly horrible, completely impossible-to-replicate feeling of being so intensely invested in something it possesses you, takes over your waking thoughts and rides some weird line between being excited, anxious, and stressed as hell while still being entirely some other beast.

That's my take on them

I’m so lucky to have a partner who doesn’t do this bs and who communicates when something is off and I don’t seem to notice, who doesn’t get offended when I can tell I’ve messed up but can’t tell how, who is patient enough to listen while I work out how I’m feeling when it isn’t clear to me.

The right person is out there for you, and the number one thing you have to do is talk to each other. About how you feel. Sounds obvious but hey this post got made to begin with.

As an autistic person, the implications of "if they really cared I wouldn't have to say it" culture are really scary. Because I want to know what hurts your feelings, what crosses your boundaries, where the line between teasing and being mean is at for you, what you need, and how to make you feel loved. And the implication that if my disability makes me unable to figure out these things through intuition alone, then I'm just not worth having around, is genuinely heartbreaking
