Synopsis: Yoongi finds himself missing you while he’s on tour, but one phone call gives him the surprise of his life.

Yoongi was two seconds away from losing his mind. Around him, the room spun in a cacophony of noises with Jungkook and Taehyung lip syncing to an overplayed pop song blaring from Jungkook’s phone speakers while the other members laughed at the stupid facial expressions they were making. Usually, Yoongi would be joining his other members in bewildered amusement at the younger men’s actions, or maybe even join in on the bad lip syncing by adding overly dramatic arm movements, but tonight, of all nights, Yoongi felt nothing but overwhelmed. 

Tonight, instead of joining in, he settled himself into the corner of the room flicking through social media feeds that were failing to hold his attention for longer than a few minutes. There was just a lack of something special across them all, something that he desperately sought out at this moment, but also desperately tried to avoid. He felt restless anxiety course through the bloodstream under his skin. 

Another half a second, he couldn’t take it.

[2:28 pm] You pressed your hands onto Jungkook’s shoulders and pushed yourself up as you jumped onto his muscular back, wrapping your legs around the front of his waist and your arms around his neck gently as you leaned forward to make sure you stayed on. Jungkook’s hands reached behind him slightly to wrap around your thighs to hold you up. His upper body was hunched forward to keep you stable on his back.

His lips spread in a wide smile, “Good?” He patted your thigh and tilted his head to the side to glance at you. You grinned and nodded your head pressing your cheek to his for a second before his smile transformed into the gorgeous infamous bunny smile. “Yes, you may now proceed to the kitchen for ice cream.”

Jungkook’s chuckled and pulled on your thighs to hoist you up onto his back better. He smiled made his way to the kitchen with you getting a free ride via his strong back. You reached your head to the side of his just enough for you to place a quick chaste kiss onto his defined jawline, you could feel the heat radiate off his cheeks after you did that which only made you laugh from the flustered man holding you on his back.

Your phone buzzes at a quarter to midnight. You had almost fallen asleep and try to ignore the pesky text message. But then it buzzes again and again, and you can’t ignore the loud vibrations any longer. Grunting in irritation, you roll over and snatch up the phone. You’re amazed to find that it’s just your dumb boyfriend. And with nothing important to say, as usual.

“what do you mean?’ you and jungkook proceeded to sit down on the couch on your shared apartment near gangnam, south korea. you both had lived there for almost a year now, being together for about three years. your heart was pounding really hard, you feel like you can’t even breathe. the way he sounded as he talked, made you feel anxious. there was nothing wrong between you two. no struggling, only a few fights, one happened recently, nothing. but the thing about what’s happening recently is that you both weren’t as affectionate as you were before. you have been working a whole lot lately, and it really wasn’t your fault that you’re a nurse working in the night shift, you have been covering for someone for a while before you can continue working in the mornings and come back home in the afternoons.

you have thought the worst possible situations that could come out of his mouth. he fucked up during the job, he cheated on you, those were the thoughts that were roaming in your mind. you weren’t prepared for this, and you wish you had. something like this scares you, and he knows that. but he wanted to come out clean before he lets anyone else tell you what he has been doing.

“y/n. please listen to me. and i’m scared to tell you this. i made a mistake.” the more he talked, the more of this shaky feeling. your palms were sweating and shaking, you can feel your heart in this silent living room. the only thing you could hear was the heavy rain pouring outside and the air conditioner running throughout the apartment. you feel like crying at this point, regardless of what the news was going to be. you knew it was going to be bad news. jungkook’s not looking at you straight in the eye, and as he finally told you, you lost it.

you lost it completely.
