MARCH WAS A STRANGE MONTH. 

It was too quiet, serene. The usual chaos that dwindled around was absent - stagnant even. Along with the silence brought a sinking feeling in your stomach, the type that could tell when something horrible was to come, but how would you know? 

You vaguely remember the last time you felt your heart drop to your stomach. It was the summer of 2017, the occasion? Meeting Park Sunghoon for the first time.

Strings of little arguments engulfed the two of you that would unknowingly last until the present, a whole 4 years later. You don’t make an effort to try and make amends, not when he’d continuously humiliate you during class by challenging your answers and bickering your ears off that paying attention to your professor would take twice the amount of effort it should have.

And you’ve tried to cut ties, desperately ignoring him and shutting him out so you don’t have to deal with the bullshit that Park Sunghoon brings, but he makes it so damn near impossible. Every time you duck your head down to avoid his stare, he’d be just as quick to yell out your name and wrap an arm around your shoulder. Every time you asked to switch seats, he’d suddenly be seated beside you the next day. And fuck, you dread asking Sim Jaeyun any help on a project (that by the way, you have together) because it would mean having to talk to Sunghoon too. 

A parasitic relationship, you think. Him being the parasite that leeches off of the host (which happens to be the current role you’re playing, and fuck, you badly wanted to trade roles with someone else and be their understudy instead). It’s the only way you can describe what you have going on - he was hardly a friend, and yet you wouldn’t consider him a stranger either. All you know is he is causing harm to your usually peaceful life.
