Geralt, as a deity, gets many an offering. However, he's known for slaying creatures and monsters and (through what is mostly rumors) Humans, so all his offerings reflect this. Blades, and blood, and dead things, and money and hide in exchange for safety of their families and villages. He's intrigued when he starts getting regular offerings in the form of... Handwritten, meaningful, sincerely admiring songs recounting his 'adventures' and his 'hardest battles', all of which are made up. Geralt sees no harm in perhaps telling the human some real stories to make some accurate songs. No harm at all. Apparently there was some harm. As the rest of his "followers" have grown jealous of Jaskier (the human with the song offerings) - So jealous in fact, they've decided to try offering Jaskier himself to Geralt.

eXCEPT FOR THAT AIDEN IS ALIVE AND WELL AND NEVER EVER DIED HE HAS AN EYEPATCH AND SOME SCARS BUT HE'S ALIVE AND THEY KISS AND HAVE HOT COCOA DURING THE WINTERS RIGHT?????

why does nobody talk about the fact that lambert would despise the way geralt treats dandelion (jaskier for movie watchers) because of aiden and what happened to him

Jaskier gets injured and Geralt fears for his life.

#Jaskier whump.

An hour passed and Jaskier hadn't returned. When two hours went by, Geralt began to grow concerned. He stood from the stool and was about to go search for his bard when Jaskier stumbled through the door, swaying on his feet. He had a hand clamped to his head, red bleeding through his fingers. Before Geralt could reach his side, he promptly collapsed to the floor.

“Jask, keep your eyes open for me. Can you do that?” 

Jaskier was slumped on the edge of the bed, barely conscious, as Geralt sat down beside him and inspected the wound. It was jagged, inflamed, open and bleeding profusely. A knife wound, Geralt suspected. He didn't want to think about what Jaskier had done to earn a stabbing but Geralt was already blaming himself. 

Jaskier's voice was thin and fragile when he mumbled. “I'm tired, G'ralt…”

“You can rest in a moment, just please keep your eyes open for now.”

Jaskier had lost so much blood. If he fell asleep now, he might never wake up. 

Head wounds were dangerous. As Geralt wet a rag and began cleaning the ragged slash on Jaskier's crown, he felt his companion slumping further and further down in himself. 

“Jask. Talk to me.” Geralt gripped his shoulder. “Talk. It's what you do best.”

“Dunno… what to say… Just let me… sleep.”

Geralt squeezed Jaskier's shoulder hard. “Talk, dammit.”

After The Mountain™, Jaskier is desperate to prove himself a Worthy Travel Companion™ to Geralt, so he decides to take up alchemy. Perhaps if he gets very good at brewing Geralt's potions, Geralt will find him worthy of keeping around. When Geralt takes Jaskier to Kaer Morhen, he can't help but notice that Jaskier is suddenly spending every possible second with Lambert. LAMBERT. I mean, he loves his brother, don't get him wrong! But Lambert? Geralt's words were cruel, and he was still working out the full apology he wanted to give Jaskier (He deserved better than just an "I'm sorry") but he's worried that he's already lost his chance, as Jaskier is seemingly finding himself a new witcher.
