Summary:It’s just you comforting your Shuri, getting her to open up to you.

Ever since Shuri finally took a break from her lab and was free from her duties as Queen, you took advantage of taking her into your shared bedroom and try to speak to her about everything that has been happening in her life.

You sat on the floors of the bedroom, the moonlight peeking through the windows illuminating the color of both your skin.

“Meetings”on the floor felt more comfortable for you both.It reminded you of the times you were mindless teenagers sitting on the grass, speaking either meaningless topics that made you both laugh or topics full of question and wonder if the universe.

Your palms took in her own as you saw the battle she was having with herself.

You knew how stubborn Shuri could be.It was something you couldn’t help loving of her.

It helped build the strong woman she was, despite so much she has lost.

But that stubbornness was getting in the way of her releasing her pain.

“Shuri, ndijonge.”

Shuri, look at me.

She was afraid to.She felt that if she did, the gentleness and warmth of your eyes will be all it takes for her to break.

If she brought her walls down now, she’d be left vulnerable.

But right now she wasn’t in front of the elderlies or strongest warriors of Wakanda, she wasn’t Queen when she was with you.

She was just Shuri.

And you have seen her at her worst and have been there to hold her up whenever she would bend or tilt.

And as more nights like these continued, she let herself feel.Truly feel the emotions she had pushed away when her brother passed away.When her mother passed away.

And you were there to take it all in, to reassure her of your presence always staying in her life.

The deep sorrows being more clear, reaching the surface of those brown eyes you adored so much.

The tears cascading her cheeks as you gently wiped them away.

Or the curls shadowing her brows and eyes whenever she looked down in shame of what she felt.

But you didn’t protest on it.You let her feel whatever she wanted to.Right now it was her moment to speak, to feel.

But there were times were Shuri became a babbling mess because of her panic.

So whenever that occurred, your lips would gently pressed to her forehead.

It always calmed her down when you were both younger.

And just as before, it got her face to soften with a light smile curling her lips.

Or there were nights were you didn’t even need to speak.

All it took was one look at her sagging shoulders, the raw pain in her eyes and without hesitation she dove into your welcoming embrace.

You’d whisper soothing words in her ears as sobs ripped through her, fingers running through her tangled locks in hopes to calm whatever was racing through her head.

The quivers of Shuri’s body being swallowed by the warmth and strength of your arms.

You’d feel her body jerk slight from time to time while she laid on top of you but a gentle squeeze from you made her relax, letting her get lost in your warmth.

It took time, it took baby steps for her to become emotionally stronger.But you were there through it all.

You became stability, her courage, her vulnerability, her love, her savior.

And every day, every night, Shuri got to rise and sleep in the arms of the one she loved.

DomesticWife!Shuri who wakes up an hour before you do, every morning, without fail, preparing your things for the day. She sets out your business attire, gets your coffee and/or tea started, and works to make you a decent breakfast before you leave. Normally, meal prep is already done - it's definitely something Wakandan, cuz once you've had a taste of her cooking nothing else satisfies your tummy anymore.

DomesticWife!Shuri who reluctantly sends you off to work, but tries her best to keep you by her side a little longer with stolen kisses and wishes of having a good day, as well as reminders to drink your liquids and not to let anyone stress you out. She pouts when you tell her you really have to go, but lets you out of her hold, and won't stop waving goodbye to you until you've driven down the road.

DomesticWife!Shuri who works from home because if you're the breadwinner, she absolutely has to be in charge of the house while you're out making money too. So while she's in Zoom meetings, she's always washing dishes, sweeping the floor with cinnamon and/or black salt (as you've instructed) for energy cleansing and protection, fixing little things around the house, tidying up your room, and doing a bit of online shopping for necessities for the house

DomesticWife!Shuri who happily runs errands for you while you're at work and can't step away. Whether it's making deliveries to the local postal office or picking up items from vendors, she takes pride in being able to help out her business woman of a wife. One time a vendor was giving her trouble and just would not let her pick up an item, despite having done so at this location numerous times. In a panic, Shuri calls you, and you tell her to hand the phone to the receptionist. Shuri never knew exactly what you said to the receptionist, but by the look on their face, Shuri knew that it wasn't pretty. The receptionist handed you the item and strangely enough, you never did business with that vendor again.

DomesticWife!Shuri who actively schedules self care appointments for you. Every 2 to 3 weeks you'll see a hair appointment at your favorite salon on your virtual calendar, as well as a monthly nail appointment. Shuri picks out the prettiest colors that compliment your skin tone and makes sure that they're work appropriate. If you've had a rough day, week, or month at work, Shuri takes extra care in pre-prepping your night routine for you. You'll share a bubble bath with your favorite wine, and order in food if both of you are too tired to cook. And a night is never complete without Shuri Cuddles, as you've taken to calling them

DomesticWife!Shuri who sends you little texts of endearment throughout the day, telling you that she loves you and that she hopes your day is going well. She'll send you funny tiktoks and videos throughout the day, though it's never an overwhelming amount as she doesn't want you to be bothered at work. She also sends you selfishly and videos of herself just doing the most random shit, dancing unprovoked, documenting her at home adventures and discoveries. If she goes on a walk, she'll send a picture of a rock she found captioned "it's a pretty rock ! just like you !", or she'll ramble on some very American thing she didn't know about. She's the absolute cutest.

DomesticWife!Shuri who has dinner almost ready when you walk through the doors of your shared home. She turns the fire on the stove low and rushes to help you out of your work coat, telling you that dinner will be ready in about ten minutes, and ushers you to change into some loungewear. Something comfortable to let go of the stress of the day that cling to your work clothes. Or, if it's a day when you're cooking dinner, she's an absolute bug in the kitchen. She's always cracking jokes, which always make you laugh, and cannot keep her hands off you. She'll be hugging you from behind, or holding onto your free hand while you're staring something, and if there's music playing, she's definitely convincing you to take breaks to do a lil waltz or just sway to the music.

You take turns massaging the aches out of your bodies from a long day, low R&B music playing in the background and a cup of wine in your hands.
