Hello, it’s Mod Jane again!

I’ve been thinking about this whole Egbertcorp scenario, and I think I found a solution.

In Homestuck canon, Nanna Egbert was groomed to be the Condesce’s heiress, to lead Betty Crocker as an evil capitalist force. She was able to escape the Condesce’s clutches, however, and starts her own joke shop, Prankster’s Gambit.

What if we turned this on its head for Alphaswap?

Poppop Crocker is groomed to be the heir of whatever form the Condesce takes. However, it is not a baking empire he would be inheriting, but an empire of pranking. He manages to escape, and starts his own bakery.

Thus, Jane Crocker in Alphaswap is not the heiress to a malevolent corporate giant, but to a small, humble baking business. However, this business was destroyed by the meteor she came to Earth on, so she makes it her life dream to rebuild it and restore the Crocker name.

John Egbert, then, is the heir to Egbertcorp, which covers up its hideous schemes with goofy slapstick humor.

Alphaswap: First Pesterlog

Mod Roxy and I did a little RP just now using the first Pesterlog as a template, and here are the results of that! It’s short, but we hope you enjoy!

EB: I got an Arrested Development poster! It’s so lovely. I should really give the series a rewatch. I can only go so long without witnessing the hilarious hijinks of Dr. Tobias Funke.

TG: i looked him up and he isnt blue

TG: whats ur game here, jane

EB: Well, duh, he’s not always blue!

EB: He just blue himself!

EB: No, no. With Mr. Funke, it isn’t his cobalt finish that makes him so attractive.

Admittedly, Star Wars: The Force Awakens is commercial as hell, but Kylo Ren lusting obsessively after Rey even though he knows he shouldn’t, BB8 rushing lovingly towards Poe after he thought Poe was dead, Finn grabbing a light saber and standing up to Kylo despite the odds, and Luke’s jaded, betrayed, haunted look at the end still gets to me.

People caught in a silly, wacky fantastical sci fi space soap opera …who still let their basic emotions get the better of them.
