The AO3 Tag of the Day is: Reblog and let me know how you get rid of godlike beings of immense power
Reblogged for an OC idea
“Character who looks dangerous but is actually harmless” and “character who looks harmless but is actually dangerous” are both well and good, but consider: character who looks dangerous, and actually is, but for a completely different reason than they look like they should be.
Donald Duck has such a weird relationship with comic books because the way he talks changes the second they don’t have to worry about his weird duck voice. We are still to assume that he sounds exactly like in the cartoons when he says stuff like this:

What’s even weirder, though, is when there are comics based on specific versions of Donald that has been in a medium with voice acting.

Because, even though we’ve heard that version of Donald speak, the writers (and/or translators) still end up writing him with dialogue that he wouldn’t say with that voice. Especially when the other characters’ voices are captured pretty well in contrast.
Instinctively, you would hear Donald’s cartoon voice when you read these, but his dialogue would be so complex compared to what he would say onscreen.
This is a callout to me and a friend specifically
