Hi! Im In The Early Stages Of Making A Picture Book Based On Two Of My Stuffed Animals Growing Up, And

A digital drawing of a slightly floppy sheep plushie with black hooves and a smaller, pink, long-limbed rabbit plushie with droopy ears. The two plushies are smiling and holding each other. The sheep is named Snowflake and the rabbit is named Bitsy.

Hi! I’m in the early stages of making a picture book based on two of my stuffed animals growing up, and I’m experimenting with the art style I want to use. Any thoughts on this test drawing of the two characters? I’m struggling a little with the line values… but this is just a first pass, the idea is to learn what I want for the book and determine how I can achieve that : )

If it makes a difference, I want the book to explore childhood OCD via Bitsy. The tone is light and gentle, kind of like Winnie the Pooh.

Yall know how Mordecai has the sound of a clock ticking to indicate his structural and posed aim?

Would LOVE if we had Freckles ‘ticking’ be his heart beat to be a metaphor on how Mordecai’s killing is all tactical, while Freckle’s is all emotional, yet they both still have deadly aim.

I love parallels.

A collection of autism creatures with different sensory issues. Some of the “creature discomforts” include “icky light”, “bad noise”, “restless”, and “icky shirt”. They all have a different disgusted facial expression.

These were made to be reaction images, but it was taking too long to format them properly, so I figure I’ll just post them like this and post them again if I ever do get them formatted.

I am… quite closely acquainted with some of these.

Me too and I cannot STAND lotion I swear they put wax in it or something and when I wash my hands it makes them even dryer! Dry hands alone isn’t enough to really bother me but if I’m already overwhelmed or in a bad mood the dry hands are gonna be at the forefront of my mind Stupidest and most annoying conundrum

I want to tell all my pals with OCD out there that I love you 💛 your progress might not be perfect, and maybe you’ve just been focusing on getting to the next day, but I’m still very, very proud of you for being in this world and doing your best. You will go further and get stronger every day. I love you and I’m so lucky to share this world with you.
