Trying something new

Sooo, I've wanted to make different smaller crafts lately, and I saw this craft online of how to laminate paper using tape, so I made these small crafts.

Made this like, keychain thing, but I havne't figured out how to attach a key ring yet since the tape rips when I try to make a hole, but I'll figure it out.

I made this and put it on a plastic bottlecap, planning to put a safety pin on the back and make it a pin.

Yeahhh, I'm letting it dry to see if it's fixable, but it probably won't be. I was proud of myself for the detail work, what kinda kills me on the inside though is the fact that the words melted off, and that was probably one of the hardest parts since it's so small (the entire logo is a little less than 8 inches across). I am still kinda upset about it, but I have this navy hoodie that I'm planning to embroider the design on, I dunno, it sucks hard, but I am determined to make things work. I am disappointed though, I was working on a deadline trying to complete if before I go to camp which is in less than 2 days so I could wear it to camp, but eh, it could have been worse. I'm much more mad about the time I spent on it being for a end product that's now most likely unsalvageable, but, c'est la vie.

I am determined to make something better though, even if I have to approach it with a new mindset and medium.

So uhm, my day is absolute shit right now, but I was slowly painting this sweatshirt over 4 weeks (the painting stage took 4 weeks, but cutting up failed stencils took me a long time too). I was trying to paint the SFIT logo onto it, and there were a lot of hardships, from paint spills needing me to cover them up with that thick ring of blue paint around the logo, to difficulty with stencils (I tried stencils, gave up and handed painted it all) but I think the most crushing part of it was that it was destroyed while handwashing it. I did everything right as far as I'm aware, I let the layers dry in between (4-5 hours in between layers), I let it cure for 72 hours after it was finished drying, I heat fixed it with a blow dryer after it cured, but the yellow melted off in the wash, honnestly, I'm just so tired right now, 4 weeks down the drain, I just wish I got a better picture of it laid flat, the wrinkles make it look like shit in the picture.

Just a little ramble here because I feel like it. Okay, so like, last school year for a specific class of mine we had city planners come in to talk about city and urban planning, talking about accessibility, environmental concerns, and safety concerns of youth within cities. We were asked to make a road design to incorporate our concerns into our designs, and I really enjoyed it, something I did well on and caught the attention of some of the designers. Guess who found out that they got invited to a conference in my community, and I was asked if I could present/represent students who participated in the city designing class/activity and bring up concerns within the community. Big deal, since it could affect the attitude of the community towards youth designers and their concerns. ONE BIG PROBLEM THOUGH, it's on a school day, during school hours, on a day where my dad can't drive me to the conference, or drive me to school after the event, so I have no idea i I can participate in this big event. 😭 Just my luck 🥹

YAYYYYY, Also thank you for mentioning the human geography part, I completely forgot I did that! I plan to make more posts analyzing San Fransokyo using human geography concepts! I love the idea of being cringe but free, I think that's something I wanna live by now! Speaking of bracelets, I plan to make a time machine inspired bracelet or sticker soon, still trying to think of how I'd execute that, I'm not a huge shipper (mostly cause fandoms scare me) but your blog makes me feel less scare of fandom/fandom spaces!!!! i largely blame the "its okay to be weird" mindset on bh6 actually! the franchise taught me its okay to be a nerd and be super passionate about whatever i like!! i am cringe but i am free haha :3

i used to think crossover shipping was pretty weird (bad) until i got super into futuristic four haha. and then i discovered time machine (wilbur x hiro), and it kind of spread from there hehehee.,.,.,. having a wide imagination is super awesome
