Can you go off about how all the people calling Magneto a Zionist are totally wrong, please?

ok so to start off i want to make it clear that in most situations i think discussing what fictional characters’ stances on palestine and israel would be since this is a very real tragedy and ultimately it’s pointless to talk about when we could be focusing on real life people but i think magneto is one of the few exceptions to this because there is on page proof that he is not a zionist. i think it’s both inaccurate and harmful to assume magneto would be a zionist.

it is inaccurate because we literally saw him call out the israeli ambassador in house of x and when he briefly lived in israel he said that the people there were quick to turn their backs on their own history when referring to the treatment of mutants but this could easily be referring to the treatment of palestinians as well. as well as the fact that to most zionist jews there is religious reasons behind choosing to live in israel despite it being a political project and magneto is not religious so he really lived there briefly since he was trying to track down nazis then he left when he was done so if he is a zionist why did he spend as little time there as possible?

as well as it being inaccurate it’s harmful because assuming magneto is a zionist just because he is jewish is a form of conflating zionism with judaism which is antisemitic regardless of if you are jewish or not. jews do not all have the exact same beliefs and many of us don’t want to be associated with israel and it’s war crimes
