You ever think Mary wanted to be like her dad, a scientist, and read all sorts of weird grimoires and scientific journals? That she shared the same sort of curiosity for the arcane like her dad? That she helped with smaller scale experiments, acting as the perfect lab assistant for her dad?

With the special blood Mary didn't know she possessed, you ever think Mary glowed with pride when her father asked to do little magical tasks that he couldn't do on his own? Or that she once glanced at a private research journal, catching the words 'Temen-Ni-Gru' and Sparda' before her father snatched it out of her hands?

You ever think that Lady blames herself for not catching the warning signs earlier? When her father's work grew more secretive and a haughty boy with white hair started appearing in her father's laboratory?

Sometimes glimpses of Mary will flash through Lady, when she able to decode notes and codes while Dante and the others are still figuring out what it all means, when she comes up with a bit of demonic information useful for mission, and when she can quickly come up with a herbal mix for injuries and demonic poisoning.

i know it's thematically important for kyrie not to be a fighter in the family of Spardas to show there are other kinds of strength and to focus on the more emotional/heroic side of humanity but sir/ma'am/nonbinary hoe my mind is consumed with kyrie wielding a sword and kicking ass
