What other ships were you in to?

I had been into the Kylo Ren and Rey ship from Star Wars for a bit, the Loki and Sylvie ship from the Loki show a little, and then I also shipped Kind Sombra with Radiant Hope from My Little Pony... There may be more, but I don't remember lol, I had actually forgotten some of these until a friend brought them up a while back 😂 Lol another one I just remembered, for like a second I was like, omg Shaxx x Mara hehehe... But yea, all these ships ended up fading for me after a bit unlike Eris and Drifter hehe 🙃

It's like, some of them felt too forced I guess... Like, Kylo and Rey, or Loki and Sylvie, it felt too rushed and kinda silly with the romance (I mean, at the time I didn't think so lol, I was just like "omg they love each other soooo much hehe") but now looking back at it I'm like, ehh there's not much making these characters and their romance really stand out, y'know? Absolutely not dissing on anyone who does like these ships, this is just my personal opinion ofc, and who knows... maybe I'm a lil biased cause I can't give away any attention from my fav ship ever... Drifteris

"You," Eris huffed, her breath warm against the Drifter's face as she she grabbed him by the collar of his coat, slamming him against the adjacent wall. "You insufferable, irksome, fetid Rat,"

  "Hah!" The Drifter kept his expression cool and composed as he stared into her glaring green eyes. "You think I'm annoyin', huh?"

  "You are annoying,"

  "You sure I'm the annoyin' one?" He raised an eyebrow. "Between the both of us, kinda seems like your the pain in the ass here, Moondust."

  Eris opened her mouth to respond, but then changed her mind and slammed her face against his, her mouth clinging to his own, kissing again and again. Suddenly the Drifter's sole focus was her lips, her love- he couldn't think about anything else, not with Eris kissing him the way she did.

  She kissed long and warm, shifting her mouth along his own with every passing second as he grabbed her waist and pulled her closer, returning her kisses with the same level of passion and intensity.

  Finally they pulled away, gasping for breath while staring into one another's flushed faces.

  "As I said before," Eris finally spoke, regaining her composure. "You are the annoying one, Rat."

  "Yeah, well, you got plenty of your own problems," the Drifter said, smiling flirtatiously, eyebrows scrunched together. "But I gotta admit, kissin' ain't one of 'em."

  Eris scowled at him before leaning in for another long and sloppy kiss.

  "Do not attempt to flatter me." She growled out when they had parted.

  "Why not?" He smirked. "It's nice seein' you so riled up but still unable to pretend you don't love me."

  His voice was so teasing, so soft, his warm affection like dripping honey, slowing down her usual lightning quick train of thought.

  The Drifter put his mouth back against hers again and again, and Eris willingly allowed it, kissing him earnest and warmly in return, holding him close and admiring his courage and burning love.

  She knew he only had the same soft, tender hearted feelings for her in return. For no other reason would they let their barriers fall and their trust be shown in such clarity if anything other were the case.

  They continued on fervently, sharing sloppy, warm kisses and playful taunting comments.

What made you love this ship?

Lol oh my goodness, I've been meaning to look into Ao3 but I've been kinda busy and forgot 😅 Definitely intend to look into it, and if I start posting my stories over there, I'll post the links here too! :))

Honestly, I've asked myself that a couple times too, and I think the reason is because not only are both characters already really cool and unique by themselves, but then their relationship is also slow building and fun to watch and observe too. I've been into other ships as well, but they all ended up fading pretty fast and I stopped really caring for them... For Eris and Drifter, I started thinking they might like each other in 2021, but actually started getting into/drawing the ship in 2022 and haven't stopped since 😂

Another thing I love is that their relationship doesn't feel sped up or forced, it feels natural, to me at least. I love the way they start off bickering and being mean to each other, and then as the seasons and years go by, with each new interaction they grow a little kinder to one another.

I also love how they both have so many differences, but then they also have some things in common. Like they've both had traumatic pasts, they are both dedicated to getting their work done (Eris even once referred to the Drifter as tenacious a long while back), and they are both kinda gross and messy XD

Drifter sidled through Eris's Athenaeum, poking at her occult doodads. Many of the unidentifiable objects were covered in one type of grime or another: wax, tallow, machine grease, or blood. He shook his head with affection, amazed that someone so sharp could be so sloppy.

And I love the way they treat each other too... The Drifter respects Eris, and he doesn't treat her like she's crazy. Eris understands the Drifter's pain, and so she is occasionally very gentle with him, especially recently 🥺

But even here in season of the Haunted she is being very open, sweet, and gentle with him...

I love the dynamic and growth between them over the years, and then the fact that they are really awesome and unique characters too... plus, what can I say? They also look really cute together :3
