Heyo there! I'm a scruffy-haired, quiet-mannered 4th year animation student from Ireland. I love drawing cute, colourful stuff, sipping tea, and snoozing all weekend. This is my artblog, wherein I periodically post digital 'n traditional artstuffs and follow lots of lovely, inspiring artists. they/them

Merry 2014, Everyone! :D2013 Has Been Such A Great Year - Easily My Favourite To Date - And I'm So Thankful

Merry 2014, everyone! :D 2013 has been such a great year - easily my favourite to date - and I'm so thankful for all the wonderful friendships and experiences that made it what it was. The biggest change to happen this year was moving to Dublin, where I began studying Animation at IADT! The first term was incredible and I got to meet and befriend so many amazingly talented, lovely people! I'm so excited about this new chapter of my life and how it's pushing me to develop my drawing and my self, and I can't wait to see what next year has in store. \(^∪^)/ New Year's Eve is always a good time for some retrospection, so I'm gonna take this chance to post a reeeally old drawing which has a special place in my heart. I drew this in late 2010, right around when I realised how important drawing is to me and that I wanted it to become a much bigger part of my life. Looking back over the past year, I feel like I've made some really important steps towards that goal. I've got a long way to go, but... it feels like I'm on the path towards becoming who I want to be! So, um... that's more than enough of my rambling, but I hope you all have the best and most super-pleasant New Year's celebrations! Here's to time, growth, and an awesome 2014! :3

Whoops, I forgot to actually upload the poster itself yesterday, so here it is! The event's free, so be sure to go if you like classical music and are around Cork next month. :D

Here's Harley Quinn puddin' her pop gun to use! I drew her as a birthday present for my super lovely fellow animator friend Katie earlier this year and forgot to post her until now!
This is such a perceptive, generous post, I… I can't even. Cassidy Stone, folks; a person whose life is seemingly a continuous, graceful progression of awesomeness!
"Take joy in the process" is something I really want to take to heart. Goals are often practical and a helpful source of motivation, but it's so important not let the uncertainty in attaining them affect your sense of self-worth. The very fact that you've committed yourself to an endless process of improving at, appreciating, and further understanding something you care about is, in itself, success! Not a fleeting kind of success, but one you can draw strength and inspiration from indefinitely. It can be difficult, like most things that matter, but there's also so much joy and personal fulfillment to be found in pursuing something that's deeply important to you. So, love the process!
On success and process
Just a rant under the cut about art and life, mostly as encouragement to myself and also because of watching some of my favorite artists on tumblr struggle a little lately.

I began the second year of my animation studies this week! I'm so excited about learning new stuffs and hopefully getting more comfortable with character animation. Here's my first Flash assignment; a delighted and decidedly spherical bun'! :3
