I just love how in English you say “great minds think alike”, which is a completely positive thing since you’re kinda praising yourself, but in German you go like “zwei Dumme, ein Gedanke” = “two fools, one thought” 

German is beautiful, isn’t it

yknow i saw an article that was like “robert pattinson standing strong against the batman hate! :)” and im like. you fools. you absolute clowns. don’t you know who you’re dealing with? you realize this is the man who waded through all of the twilight hate? with stride? basically brushed it off of his shoulder immediately? even as a non twilight fan in the early 2000s i knew this man would never succumb to the words of the simple minded. batman criticism means nothing to him. he cannot be defeated now. youve cast the perfect impermeable wall. he’s too powerful and we’re at his mercy

The first time i like a translation to German better than the original sentence

Okay. We're in Thor: the Dark World. Thor is talking to his father about brining peace to the nine realms. He flatters his father. Odins answear is the part I am reffering to. In German he says: "Du musst denken ich sei ein Bär, dass du mir so viel Honig ums Maul schmierst." Which translates to: you must think I am a bear that you cover my face in honey. A bear--> strong, a fighter --> also flatters a king I grew up with that saying and i didn't think much about it, because i had only seen the movie in German. But today I watched the movie in English for the first time and I lost my shit at this: "You must think i am a slice of bread that you butter me so heavily" Bread. I know now that it is a similar saying to my german one but still. Now all I can picture is a piece of bread with the allfathers face on it.

Doctor Who + my sister = me crying

So, I was watching Doctor Who with my sister and we reached “The Angels take Manhatten” and I think it broke me a bit. But then my sister had to go and say “Get you a man that loves you as much as Rory loves Amy” and now I can’t stop crying and I’m so glad I haven’t put on my Christmas makeup yet or I’d look like a racoon by now.

I love my sister but she sure knows how to make my heart break.

PS: @elemeny Don’t do something like that when we watch Hell Bent. Please!
