(Kind Of) Have You Ever Noticed? Part 3.
(Kind of) Have you ever noticed? Part 3.
Well I was thinking about why was Savage labelled as a mindless monster who was just a pawn to everybody, and I think the answer is easy: this is what the show wanted to think.
It has three important part :
Names
Savage was rarely called by his name, instead of that he called:
-Reckless, impulsive animal (Obi-wan)
-This thing… this animal (Obi-wan)
-Ignorant beast (Dooku)
-Fool (Ventress)
-Monster (Anakin)
If you hear something repeatedly, you'll be more likely to believe it.
2. The scene from Brothers episode
Do you remember the Brothers episode (season 4 episode 21) when Savage choking a lady who didn't do anything?
Well originally it wasn't the whole scene. There is a deleted part from the show:
Is it a little bit differenet, isn't it?
I wouldn't say it was good reaction from Savage, but it shows he didn't act without reason.
3. Pawn to everybody
Savage served Ventress and Dooku because of the Nightsister magic. In this period we could say he was a pawn. His mind was controlled by magic, and he lost his will. But after the magic he had own thoughts and he didn't afraid to share them.

So long story short: he was not a mindless animal at all, he was reasonable and honest with his thoughts.

Jedi!Maul eye color
I'm a really big fan of Jedi!Maul idea (if anybody interest in this topic I recommend to check out @genifer-championofpaldea's writings and @scuttlebuttin's arts). I always wondering how would he look without his iconic sith eyes. So tried out things.
Ok, change the eye color. But what color?
Blue of course!
But what shade?
Well Savage had a really interesting eye color, before his transformation. So I took his eye color as a reference:

(yes I know this picture is too bright, but I really like this color, so I stayed with that).
Now I have the reference so we can jump on the fun things!
Original clip:

With Savage's eye color:

Wow, okay that looks pretty good.
TRY WITH OTHER CLIP!

With Savage's eye color:

Okay I love it! Jedi!Maul would be amazing with blue eyes.
But what if I take Feral as reference? He is also Maul's brother, why don't we try it?
For reference:

(yes, yes again too bright, but now I have reason and I will tell later.)
So try with it with this color:
Original clip:

With Feral's eye color:

Not a wow feeling, but he looks softer with this color.
Try with the other clip:

With Feral's eye color:

Again not a big change but looks softer.
Why I made the reference too bright/light?
Well it is a little bit bittersweet.
Feral's reference if I stay with the original which is that:

And if we compare this picture with Maul:

Yep that's the problem. They (almost) have the same eye color.

And it's bittersweet (maybe just for me) to see how similar they are.
Well I would stay with the blue color but it was fun too try out other ideas.
So thanks for the attentions!
Have you ever noticed? Part 2.
What we see here? In the Selection one zabrak from the four die, which is part of the trials. Savage kneels down to check the other nightbrother, and with this act he broke the defensive formation. It wasn't a necessary act, the others just looked at the dead nightbrother and focused back to the fight.
He did it immediately and I think that was an instinctive act from him. He was caring and protective for Feral, but not just for him. This act shows us the other nightbrothers were important for him too, and he cared what happen to them.

I started to work in a new place, so I didn't have so much time but I wanted to do something just for fun. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
