i'm pretty sure that i was looking through the comments in a Do You Copy gameplay video and i saw this one comment (i think they said that the game reminded them of that story) about the game and it was like

"a man gets radio transmissions from a trucker and the trucker is lost so they lead the trucker to their house or something but the guy notices that the trucker is going too fast for any normal person so the guy leads the "trucker" to his neighbours house"

it was also mentioned that the guy saw something enter the neighbours house
