I Keep Telling Myself That I Don't Know What The Original Story Of Voltron: Legendary Defender Was Going

I keep telling myself that I don't know what the original story of Voltron: Legendary Defender was going to be. I stand by those words. But there are some plot points that I genuinely think were in the first writers' room. The good thing is that those ideas were able to make it to the show.

Keith being half-Galran - it makes too much sense for Keith to be half-Galran in the show. The foreshadowing was really well done and the execution was great.

Shiro going missing/dead - I don't know which one it would have been, but most likely death to parallel Beast King GoLion's death. In the original show, Shiro's death was very emotional and tragic. He dies in his team's arms as he tells them to never give up and keep fighting for a brighter future. I don't know what Shiro's initial fate was going to be past season 2. I don't think we'll ever know unless we find the original writers and ask them. But passing the torch of the Black Lion's paladin to Keith was definitely what was supposed to happen.

Eventually coming back to Earth - I'm not sure what happened in the original Beast King GoLion, but I do believe Team Voltron coming back to Earth was important enough to stay in on the writers' cork board.

Lance and Keith's relationship getting stronger - I'm not a Klance fan, I actually don't ship any ships in Voltron anymore except for my own selfish one. But Keith and Lance's relationship getting stronger was definitely something that was left on the table. The show started with Lance disrespecting Keith, and obviously them bickering. The show ending with Keith and Lance having a mutual respect for one another was important, and much needed for the show. They needed to work as a team, after all.

Edit: Silly little me forgot that I DID watch the first episode of Beast King GoLion, and I remember Earth getting destroyed by the Galra in a genuinely horrendous way. It was actually horrifying.

I have been on the internet since 2005 and I honestly can not tell you how any websites' algorithm works. I even tried timing posts on my old account. I know that not all of my posts will be an instant hit, but the algorithm can be a cold, cold mistress.

It's been years since Voltron started and I am still mad at the fact that Paladin Pajamas were never in production as cute clothes for fans.

Just think. A Pajama set. Robe, pj top and bottom, voltron lion slippers.

THOSE WOULD SELL AND YET NO ONE WANTED TO MAKE THEM.

The zombies I'm referring to in the post are zombies from the various Korean media I consumed and enjoyed. Which would make them very different from the duel zombies. Since the zombies from the shows and movies I stated above are more animalistic and horrifying. The duelist ones, not so much.

This is a horror scenario where all the characters die from either lack of resources or lack of common sense.

Here's the Zombie idea I had for YuGiOh GX.

This is entirely based on the zombie media I have watched. For those interested, it's the following: All of Us are Dead, #Alive, Train to Busan, Seoul Station, Kingdom. They are all Korean-based, yes.

Here’s what would happen if there was a zombie infestation at Duel Academy: Everyone would get infected. There would be no survivors.

Harsh of me to say, but Duel Academy is on a series of isolated islands off the coast of Japan. The zombie infection could start with any kid of staff member and it could spread quickly because of how close everyone is.

The dorm that would last the longest would be the male Obelisk Blue Dorm for the only reason that it is the biggest dorm on school grounds.

There is a possibility that the girl’s Obelisk Blue Dorm would survive a little longer due to having a boat in one episode; possibly a moat, but nothing is guaranteed. The dub of GX gives many characters the brains of actual peanuts, so having an infected student in the dorm is highly probable.

Slifer Red wouldn’t last long due to how terrible the infrastructure of the building is. Thin walls, close rooms, smallest dorm. It also doesn't help that the surrounding area of the dorm is small and compact.

Ra Yellow, while a little better when it comes to construction, would still be a bad dorm to be in during a zombie apocalypse. The dorm building is a bit bigger and has a dining hall.

The “best” place to be in Duel Academy during an apocalypse would have to be the main school building, but that’s not saying much. Design wise, the building is a fucking mess, and we never got a full floor plan of the it. I doubt it’s like any other Japanese school; might be more akin to a university or college.

The lack of survivors could be because of the collective IQs of the students and staff. I don't have much faith in those kids and adults, and honestly, neither should you. Chancellor Sheppard is one of the stupidest mother fuckers I have ever seen in any YuGiOh media, and that's saying a lot for both sub and dub.

Yes, I am saying that Chancellor Sheppard would hide an obvious zombie bite and a good chunk of the student body would believe him.

I genuinely appreciate the feedback on this post. It means a lot that people are willing to get involved in the conversation. I absolutely love this show, even though I shouldn't as a creative, and I love the points that you guys drive home. I'm still brainstorming the fanfic, hell I'm working on an extremely rough draft of chapter 1 right now, and I've been battling with that disability of Shiro's.

I'm leaning towards not using it, since I wanted to make Adam more of a pillar for Shiro's character development. I'll figure out whenthe time comes.
