Something about how he's never been given any to begin with, neither love nor approval so he craves both and misplaces approval for love. Something about RomanGerri and her being the only one to have ever given him some form of approval and something about him falling for her, hard, because of it. Something about getting approval from Menken, from Kendall's abusive possessed body, from the crowd that could and would break him, burn him.

Dee and kaitlin Olson truely did so much for feminism like Dee was originally going to be the straight man (ha she's gay lol) as a foil to the boys antics before kailtin had a talk with the other writers and told them dee needed to be one them and they succeeded in making her such! i feel like always sunny fans sleep on dee’s backstory… like guys. this is the woman who lit who roommate on fire and was involuntarily committed for it. she did theater in high school and starred in one of the plays (insert something about the parallels between the Aluminum Monster and Frankenstein’s Monster). she convinced the gang that one of them got her pregnant. she’s shown as cruel and abrasive the entire show until they reveal that her personality changed drastically after a roller skating accident and that she used to be really kind and friendly. she has so much LORE

the thing is with rochester and jane is that they're insane best friends. like it's easy to call rochester weird but you cannot make an adaptation of jane eyre where you don't establish the fact the reason rochester falls for jane in the first place and why they bridge that huge gap they have in terms of age and experience is that she's the only one out there that's as weird and offputting as he is. that's literally mr and mrs bozo
