so recently took my steelix to pokemon center because hes been kind of lethargic, and found its because a fridge magnet got between his segments somehow????? are steel types actually magnetic?? how would that even get in there????

not all steel types are, but some steel types do eat ferromagnetic metals and convert those metals into outer metallic coatings, and in those cases they are indeed magnetic. he very well could have picked up the magnet while burrowing outside. unfortunately, human industrial waste has been a huge contributor to wild steel type injury, illness, and death. a friend of mine out in orre who does a lot of environmental restoration work has sent me pictures of the "skarmory graveyard" out near pyrite- an old coal processing plant where a lot of the equipment employed industrial magnets. skarmory flying in to scavenge the metal after the plant shut down would get pulled in by the magnets and wouldn't be able to break free. it's pretty gruesome to see.

i'm glad they were able to find what was bothering your buddy- you were smart to take him to a center as soon as you noticed him off!

Sorry if it's been asked before but what's your thoughts on the research of Artificial Pokémon creation? Like MewTwo?

Having been granted the honor of caring for Mewtwo for a few days, I can say safely that Mewtwo is a wonderful Pokemon. Intelligent, cautious, and not aggressive in the least as long as you respect its boundaries. Trainer Red did an exemplary job in raising Mewtwo, and it should not be judged by its origins.

That said, in almost all cases, artificial Pokemon creation is inhumane, unethical, and those who do it should be tried in the highest courts.

This is not inherently a problem to the research of artificial Pokemon creation. There is little problem with, for example, Porygon. But the most important aspect when researching to create life is to ensure that you are able to give it a happy, healthy life. It should be able to have as comfortable a life as any natural Pokemon- That should be the highest priority above all else.

But those who engage in this- Team Rocket, Cara Liss, the Aether Foundation- They do not care about such things. And so, the Pokemon they create are not given the chance to thrive or given a good life. They are treated as research material first and living beings second... if at all.

It must be done ethically, or not at all. Those who refuse to acknowledge this must be made to answer for the needless suffering of living beings.

Punk kid came in today with a Pinsir and fucking wiped the gym. He way over prepared for a minor league gym. And the guy with the zweilous was out sick. Not great.

As much as I hate the stigma against dark types...I can see why Honchkrows are popular with evil team bosses.

These dudes literally run the Pokemon equivalent of a Crime Syndicate. Even ones with trainers will sometimes sneak behind their backs to do their thing.

I've mentioned Camonte's bullcrap shenanigans before... especially the MASTER BALL INCIDENT.

Luckily they also are pretty dang loyal.

my sibling got their espurr a fancy bow for easter and she's so...

she loves to hold her pokeball and just. stare

my sibling texted me this photo of à la mode floating their roomba around and making it freak out because it thinks it's stuck

Is À La Mode's default stance just having all four paws fully extended or do they only do that in special circumstances?

à la mode is...a special little creature, even for an espurr.

for context: my sibling never intended to own an espurr. à la mode just kept breaking into their apartment and rearranging their furniture. turns out her old owner had left her when he moved out because she's such a menace. she can easily float several grown human beings at the same time. her favorite place to sit is wherever is most inconvenient to you at that precise moment. bér has gone through six fridge locks graded for psychic-types because she'll steal yogurt and then get horrible diarrhea from it, and she's figured out how to pick most of the locks. she's level 76 right now even though my sibling is not a battler. she just came that way.

i think she just likes to sit like that, but she's kind of an enigma.
