Hello! Just Wanted To Let You Know I Found A Bug.
hello! just wanted to let you know i found a bug.

it says i have no cigarettes left when it’s actually my most supplied item
Hi, thank you for letting me know!
I looked at that scene and apparently, it wasn't checking the correct variables—it ran a check on the number of pills instead of cigarettes.
It is now fixed, and will no longer cause this issue from the next update.
Thanks again! ♥

happy for after dark readers but when will you update the in between?? 😭
Hey! The In-Between update will come out in about a week for patrons, about three weeks for the free one. I will post the updated road map tomorrow! ☺
Hey! In the novel the in between, what genders are the actual love interest? I know for the interactive novel you can select preferred gender but I was curious what you had assigned them in the novel ( would love to read just am not sure where to buy it from ) thank you ❤️
This is so sweet, thank you! I never actually published the novel in Italian I straight up converted it into an interactive fiction in English, but I really appreciate the thought.
I started writing the novel in 2017, and coming from a rather homophobic environment, the first thing that struck me about that university was how open-minded it was. I had already published a fiction book, and I was about to release a second one, an LGBT-themed drama set in the last century. But this time, I thought, why not write a story with non-cishet characters living in a setting that reflects my everyday life… and actually make it work! At the same time, though, I didn’t want that to be the main focus. It had to be a drama novel, yes, but of a different kind...
The protagonist in the original novel is Nicola, a skinny, introverted guy. He meets Alessandro at university, who’s super friendly, and Chiara, who’s also really outgoing. But soon after, another Alessandro shows up (this is kind of a joke since Alessandro is such a common name—think of something like Liam or Noah in the U.S.).
From this point on, there are spoilers under the cut. If you'd rather avoid them, you can stop here! Otherwise, if you want to get to the conclusion, there’s a gif marking the end of the spoilers—just scroll down to the cat image!
Nicola’s old acquaintance Alessandro not only got him involved in something dangerous, but he’s also his ex-boyfriend, the one who cheated on him. Nicola, who’s gay, broke up with him, and by the time he starts university, he’s single. Alessandro, on the other hand, is bi/pan and keeps seeing Mirko, the guy he cheated on Nicola with, but it’s more of a convenience thing than anything else.
Meanwhile, the other Alessandro is straight and has a huge crush on Chiara, but eventually ends up with Cinzia, Chiara’s childhood friend. Chiara, who’s also straight, was dating Gio, but she’s got a crush on the other Alessandro.

*confused noises*
...So yeah, it’s kind of a mess (YA college drama everyone?), but it only serves as a backdrop to the family drama and the themes of freedom that gradually take center stage in the story.
That said, this is just one version of the story, and it’s now a lot more accessible! It’s a bit tricky to tweak some of the parts that are kind of “hard-wired” into the concept of “I’m a young gay man in the closet,” but I’m doing my best to put those behaviors on MC's inherent shyness and introversion instead.
I hope this answers your question! Thanks again for your interest ♥
Hi, related to the question before, you mentioned you enjoyed reading a lot. Thank you for that full answer btw :) but I wanted to ask you, do you enjoy playing video games that are choice based also? (Or at least the choices you can make throughout the game have an impact on the actual storyline) Like the telltale series, or Dragon age? When I read through all the new releases of cog, I always like to replay these games as they give me the same feeling but of course more visual.
You're very welcome!
Yes, I like those games too :-) My favorite game of the eighth generation is Until Dawn. Honestly, the day I get tired of Until Dawn will be the day I'm replaced by a body snatcher...
I love Dragon Age, and The Wolf Among Us is another game that kept me up through multiple playthroughs (I can't wait for the sequel to come out!). Other games in this genre that I've loved include The Life and Suffering of Sir Brante, Heavy Rain (though the ending… eh), Detroit, Beyond: Two Souls, and Night Call.
Unfortunately, I completely lack free time, so I have a lot of games on hold and others I still need to play. For example, in the future, I want to catch up on Undertale, Frostpunk, The Dark Pictures Anthology (obviously :P), Catherine, the Deus Ex series, and As Dusk Falls.
I need to finish Disco Elysium, Oxenfree, and (though not entirely in the genre you mentioned) Help Will Come Tomorrow, Lamplight City, and Mind Scanners!
Do you personally play After Dark or just make characters to test the story? If you personally play it, could you share the personality of your MC and who they have as a love interest? ❤️
Yes! Thank you for asking this!
So, I do at least one complete run each update, just to make sure everything works as it should. Of course, I also test different characters, but my canon one resembles me a lot (yeah, I'm that type of player, don't judge me pls).
My MC is usually a gay guy who matches my physical description, he's smart and loves literary subjects, but I don't place much importance on his family relationships. His 'malus' trait varies a lot because my health sucks anyway, so one is as good as another lol
He's inquisitive but not at the expense of other things. On the first night, he might open the window, but when Michael advises him not to look while walking during the first day, he asks why and then follows the advice. He keeps Rain talking for as long as needed (even at the cost of his phone battery), agrees to see him right away, and comforts him whenever he can.
He's always kind and appreciative of what others do for him, never lying or pretending. If he can share something, he does it. He helps Abby when she needs it, and even though he's not the bravest of the group, he researches and reflects on what's going on, offering advice and asking for others' opinions.
...and of course, he has a relationship with Michael, because if this were a D&D game, Michael would be the Paladin, and I, as a player, am pretty predictable :P
Thanks again for asking! Can I ask what your MC is like? ☺
So that's how tumblr tags work...
Okay, so I've been asked by several people why some of my tags weren't working. I noticed it too and was surprised. Shocked. Absolutely speechless.
I kept troubleshooting for a month! But okay, I finally figured it out.
Apparently, Tumblr indexes (even within your own blog!) only the first five tags. You click one of the first five tags on your post? Voila, it shows up in the results. You click the tenth one? Nope, nothing there. Funny how Tumblr’s official blog says that the first 20 tags are indexed—apparently that's not true. Try it for yourself (no really, try it: maybe it's just my blog that’s bugged, lol).
Well, that's that. If you didn't know, now you do! And if you did know, reblog anyway—maybe there’s another newbie out there like me, silently panicking :')
