That fellow's ring is *quite* disturbing.
I do like the lighting very, very much.
Sibelius seemed to prefer the ultra-short form in most of his work for the piano. And nearly all this work suffers from being kitschily/kitsch-silly and unfortunately titled with salon-type names (the New Age of its day): romance-this and flower/garden/sonnet/allegory-that. No matter. There is much rich material in his piano work and while their lack of extended structure may mean they are fated to be too little programmed, that is no reason why they shouldn't be played and heard, either by musicians looking for fresh reading material or composers seeking motifs to adapt, sample, inspire, enjoy. Sibelius is my favorite symphonist. As a piano player I lament the lack of native work (other than perhaps opp. 41 and 67) for the instrument, but I'll dig all the deeper for what is there.
