What is your least/dislike bbau character?

Oooooooo, I have disliked a BBAU character, but not because the character is bad. In fact I’ve never thought any BBAU character was bad, either because there’s not enough information on them; or the thing I dislike about them is intentional and in moderation, so you don’t end up with fladerisation. So the dislike gets over-ridden by my appreciation for the author succeeding in their goal. So while I dislike them, I do not think they are a bad character.

Some examples

Dislike for Appearance

Stealing Machine from Billy’s Basic Educational Game. The flesh colour on the cockroach body is uncanny; and unintentionally made Billy’s Camping Game a horror game more than it should’ve been. The wires sticking out and the fact you can see the “bone lines” on the “shoulders” and “stomach” is freaky! Why does he have a rib cage! (I know why, it’s to protect the inside, but why is it visible!). No wonder Billy covered you up with a vending machine costume — aside from being a practical way to store stolen items. The fly head with the lion’s mane is… I feel like it’d be cool to draw but enhhh, I don’t… It’s… Ugly. The glitchy pattern is cool though, and the colour palette is actually super nice and complementary — beige and purple is a good combo apprently. So even though he’s ugly, it’s not a bad character design!

Dislike for Personality

Fake Alex from Alex’s Basics in Biology and Zoology. He could be arrested for so many crimes, he’s the type of antagonist that’s just evil, no sympathetic backstory, he’s just evil. And I love that for him, but also hate him extremely for!

He is perversive with his power:

He knows that Asmodena is desperate to return back to hell and reunite with her family. So he uses her emotional vulnerability to persuade her into working for him, and keep her working for him. 『she has been in the realm of ABiBaZ, intending to gain more experience before returning to Hell.』 -Asmodena article in ABiBaZ wiki

Yells at his staff, constantly.

Creates a hierchy wherein the least favourite have to be treated worse than the most favourite — refer to Scrina and Dolly. 『He tells me i can ask this robot to do anything i want and if it doesn't work just hit it』 -Asmodena article in ABiBaZ wiki

Does what benefits him without consideration for the other person:

Kidnaps Scrina so that he has someone to build the college for him. When she doesn’t cooperate, he attempts to sell her off to at least make all the effort he put into kidnapping her worth it.

Mistreats his students/staff:

Ripped off Candy/Candice’s arm and possible other body parts. Since she can regenerate Alex probably uses that “damage immunity” as a way to turn her into a free food supply; or stress toy.

When refusing to cooperate or stressed he traps Scrina in the Alex Dimension and treats her like a “stress toy.”

Berates Scrina to the point of breaking her self-esteem, 『sulking and calling herself "useless trash" periodically』 -Scrina article in ABiBaZ wiki

Despite all this mistreatment though, he doesn’t just hurt them randomely. Common pattern is that while he is noisy all the time, he only hurts them when he is upset or feels like “punishing” them. So he isn’t brain dead. Obviously if your staff dies then no one gets to work for you! And if you hurt your staff so much they leave, then they won’t want to work it you.

Horrible person; fun character. Rest in pain, fake Alex ♥︎ you do not deserve that pretty bowlcut, Dolly or Real Alex’s swagger.

If Dolly ever decides to sue Fake Alex during the aftermath of ABiBaZ, I do not want to be Fake Alex’s lawyer (I say Dolly because I think she’d want to avenge Real Alex and all the other members of the Alex College, after the mistreatment Fake Alex put them through).

Not even Saul Goddamn Goodman wants to mess with Alex’s case files. It’s up to Olivia and her non-existent degree in law school to deal with this.

Funfact: Olivia is wearing the graduation ribbons for Biology which is Science Gold and Education which is Light Blue.

Real Alex goes to McDonalds, I’m so happy ABiBaZ story isn’t real so that he can enjoy his time in McDonalds. Good for you Alex!

TL;DR My favourite BBAUs are BBEG and ABiBaZ!

Very basic choice, I know, but they’re honestly really high quality compared to others so can you blame me? To be fair, ABiBaZ is a fan game and not a mod so it doesn’t have that many limitations and can basically do whatever. But then you have BBEG which is a mod and yet somehow it manages to create something unique despite having many limitations. Going back to ABiBaZ being able to do whatever — with the remaster coming up, I’m not even sure it’s fair to call it a BBAU anymore; like most of EternityDev/MrDrNose’s projects, it has completely discarded the BBIEAL formula (though the inspiration and gimmick is present) and become its own amazing identity. With new lore, personalised gimmicks and bigger world-building that is — I hope — fitting for the story it wants to re-tell!

Now if I like quality and innovation so much then why is AEwVS not on my list? AEwVS is also super high quality, but my emotional attatchment is stronger with ABibaZ. And it doesn’t help that AEwVS’ story isn’t even complete — unlike BBEG and ABiBaZ — so it’s hard trying to connect with the characters when they’re unresolved. But I’m just spouting words out my bottom, I just like ABiBaZ more than AEwVS for personal preference ٩(๑❛ᴗ❛๑)۶ not all my reasons have to be super techy and logical.

While we’re rambling… BBEG is actually a trojan horse, since I implied earlier that I like BBEG for its story, well… BBEG’s story actually spans over four mods! — BBEG is the beginning; CBA is the prequel; BBEG:11YL is the sequel; BFC is the spin-off. So really, my list should be longer but I rank BBEG highest out of the four because I also like its characters way more! Why do I like the characters? I think it’d be better if I reserved that explanation for its own post…
