Chapter 2: The Strangeness of a Calm Home Life
As Karin walked through the clinic doors, she reflexively blocked a sideways kick from the idiot she seemed to call a “father”. He flopped forcefully backwards, landing next to a large picture of her mother’s face. He winced as his head hit the wall then put on his signature goofy smile and thrust forward two thumbs up.
“YOU ARE DOING WELL MY YOUNG DAUGHTER! BOTH RELFLEX AND MUSCLE!” he squealed.
As he looked at Yuzu his smile washed off into an overdramatic pout.
“MY BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER! WHAT HAPPENED?! DON’T WORRY DADDY WILL COME TO YOUR AID!” He begun to race towards her but Yuzu held up a calm hand.
“It’s just a graze Dad, nothing to worry about.”
Ishin stopped in his tracks and his shoulders slumped.
“Aww you two are no fun when Ichigo’s not around. You have to act all serious and mature…” he grumbled. “I’ll clean it up and get you a Band-Aid then,” he added more softly.
It was an unusual sight for the Goat Face to act responsibly (or at least responsibly according to the rest of society). Since Ichigo had left for some trip, her father acted less like the idiot and more like… well more like Ichigo she guessed; more gruff and serious. It was probably his little way of missing him. She wasn’t exactly sure whether she liked the change or not but she knew that all of them really did miss his presence.
While Ishin put the Band-Aid on Yuzu’s knee, Karin dumped her bag just outside the door and headed up to her and Yuzu’s room. She was almost sure she was going to miss out dinner. Fighting the hollow had really taken it out of her. Playing soccer is one thing. Playing for your life is another. She turned and collapsed into the soft cardboard like mattress. Even with the occasional hollow attack, things had been pretty calm without Ichigo around. Her Dad was less hyped all the time, Yuzu stopped the ongoing jokes and Karin even found herself trying to get her Dad to fight her even more in an attempt to keep Ichigo’s presence around them.
But it was really a pale imitation compared to what the Kurosaki household was like with Ichigo around.
Karin pulled her legs into her stomach and winced as an aching pain shot up her thigh.
“Must’ve strained it,” she muttered to herself. That was the first time in months she had gotten muscle aches. She laughed to herself a bit. Fighting the hollows was actually upping her gameplay for both soccer and video games. It was making her mind and body, work to get the goal. And she kind of liked that in some weird way. She was using her talents for seeing ghosts (no matter how much she denied they existed) to help fight the good fight.
She sunk her head lower into the pillows and her eyes drifted shut. Tomorrow, she thought. I’ll do it tomorrow. For now just rest…
With that her eyes sealed shut and all other thoughts aside from sleep escaped her heavy mind.
Hawkeye deals with The Flame (more like puff of smoke) Alchemist.... again....

It hurts because us viewing the story can see it and know how the fall of the republic and the Jedi happens in the end BUT having all the correct puzzle pieces scattered all around the doesn't make solving the puzzle any easier for those characters. Also ,as Yoda has to come face to face with in season six and throughout the clone wars, is that the Jedi had been pulled to deep into the war and were losing themselves continuing the war whilst losing the senate by trying to be both Jedi and generals in the war.
Even if the Jedi had fully comprehended and figured out what was going on, Palpatine had gained so much favour from so many different parties in the senate, if the Jedi tried anything out of the ordinary to stop him it would back fire on them anyway because the senate would favour his word over theirs. Remember there’s a lot of mystery surrounding the Jedi. Some people don’t even know what they are or what they really do. It’d be like the debate over politics or religion to many citizens of the republic. But with the religious aspect having it’s values corrupted by war by leading it.
That’s why the fall of the Jedi is so tragic. Because even when they were so close to figuring everything out and putting an end to the sith, there was nothing they could do about it. Because if they did, they’d lose themselves and lose the republic.
by far the most MADDENING thing for me about clone wars s6 is that the jedi council literally has every piece of the puzzle they need to avert order 66. AND THEY DIDN’T DO It. and i can’t tell if the writers just gave them the idiot ball or if they were just so fucking focused on sidious and his schemes that they missed the threat that was RIGHT THERE.
they know the clones have “aggression inhibitor” chips in their heads. they know tup’s chip degraded and caused him to execute master tiplar. they know he was chanting “good soldiers follow orders kill the jedi.” they know that a sith lord, under the guise of a jedi, commissioned the clone army. and, assuming anakin told them what fives said before he was killed, they also know the conspiracy goes all the way to the chancellor. THEY HAD EVERYTHING THEY NEEDED TO FIGURE THIS OUT. AND DIDN’T. FFS

Arya Stark To Winterfell
An small idea of if / when Arya ever makes the trek back home to Jon, Sansa, Rickon and hopefully Bran. Her struggle with what she’s been through.

“The girl is no one”
As the girl rested her eyes on the snowy forests she’d once known so well, this mantra echoed in her mind.
“The girl is no one”
Once a girl had played here with her dire wolf. Once a girl had hidden here from her ginger sister’s wrath. Once a girl had secretly trained here with dreams of becoming the best swordsman in all of Westeros.
“The girl is no one”
That girl is no one now. She isn’t trudging through the woods broken boned and bleeding across the pale snow. She’ll never have anymore desires of reaching her home once more. Arya Stark is dead.
But a different sort of chanting started to echo in her head. Chanting from the depths of her memories of better times, of hopeful times. The girl had her family. The girl had her sword. The girl had her name. And a dancer had taught her another kind of mantra that filled her very being. As the memories of Arya Stark’s life began crashing back into her mind, the girl stood taller despite her weakened knees. She walked faster despite her ripping muscles.
“The girl is no one” echoed an ancient voice.
But the fire within her was already released.
“What do we say to the God of death?”
Arya Stark fiercely muttered under her ragged breath: “Not today.”
