Artist tip: 90 % Principle
Working on a multi painting project with the least pain
Ok so I’m writing a long book with at least a hundred illustrations and part of the reason I’m never posting anything is because everything is a WIP. I have barely any finished paintings but that’s intentional. So, id like to share what i call the 90% principle. Finish 90% of a painting before moving on to the next one. This makes that “my art evolves too much by the end” dilemma much less painful. Like this example of a painting i begun a couple of months ago. I was pretty pleased with this:

NOW earlier today i was polishing it with the skills i got from painting all the other stuff, and suddenly it looks like this:

Instead of having to paint everything from scratch, i can just save a lot of time by using my better art skills to finish an old artwork, and then the ‘curve’ is much less drastic. 10/10 would recommend
One thing about Wikipedias is that it’s honestly an under utilized storytelling medium. The ability to hyperlink, create many different pages and rabbit holes etc. the subtle ways you can add irony and depth by linking vaguely related articles within sentences. World building that can be discovered in real time organically by the reader. Unreliable narrators that mix in propaganda, misinformation and conventions that make sense in universe while still presenting a veneer of objectivity. I see the future and its bright.
