In the dark, the silence is deafening.

Steve has to try a little too hard to focus on the noises outside his window, instead of the ones inside his head. He closes his eyes and inhales deeply, the open windows letting the morning air circulate through the room making the curtains dance a little and rustle the corner of a few papers he’s got laying around the vanity. 

This was her favorite time of the day, he always thinks. Right before the sun would rise, when the darkness would become thick before it’d break and the dark sky would turn lighter, fill with pink and orange shades, the sunshine making him squint his eyes a moment before they got used to it. 

He always gives himself this moment — just this one moment to feel the weight of it all. 

He gives himself this moment to think of her hands and her hair and the shape of her smile. He thinks of her raspy voice wishing him a good morning, and the taste of coffee in her kisses the few times she’s been up before he is.

He feels how much it hurts. 

It’s been five years already, but it hurts just the same. 

Some mornings Steve doesn’t think he’ll be able to get out of bed at all, other mornings he’s more hopeful — today’s one of those days. 

Like every morning, he abandons himself at that moment and gets on with his day. 

He hopes it’s the last time. 

After five years, they finally have a chance.

I think this is a really good chapter and an essential one too. I really like that you gave us an explanation as to what happened to the reader after she was resurrected and didn't just leave it like that. I wish this series never ends cause I just can't get enough of it. Tysm! 💙

Tony Stark was a ridiculously theatrical person.

While that was no news to anyone who knew as much as his name at least, but he still managed to outlive the legend, the reputation that preceded him.

He left you standing by the door, walked in to gain the undivided attention of the person inside the office and wanted you to reveal yourself in the exact right moment – a moment he trusted you to recognize.

Well. You assumed with a revelation like yours, it was rather hard to keep the drama away. But leave it to Tony Stark that he would blow it to proportion just to have fun.

2020... oh boy

That up there is the first thing I think about when reviewing this year.

It’s been madness and I say that while I was one of the lucky ones - at least when it comes to my family and close friends, who either managed to avoid the damn virus entirely or didn’t have any severe complications.

My life, as all of ours, was upside down. School’s been kinda crap and sending me to borders of dangerous mental territories, staying in contact with offline friends was hard, doing things was hard and-… things were just crap. 

I don’t want to dive into ugly things, even if that doesn’t erase them and even if us handling them somehow and amazingly given the circumstances, makes us survivors.

I want to focus on the nice ones this day, because they were which pulled me through; I don’t share much personal details, but there were things in my offline life that would fall into the ‘nice’ category. And they deserve recognition; just not here.

Not on this blog where the main focus is writing and reading and well, Marvel stuff with a sprinkle of other fandoms.

I’m here to say ‘thank you’ to you.
