the thing is good and evil are not real. however if they were I would do my best to be good. I also believe that, should I fail to be good, I would instead be nothing. the first rule about rules you didn't come up with is finding out what breaks them. if good and evil existed, should I fail to be a person, if good and evil existed, and I succeeded, what would happen? if I existed, good and evil would be real. and who decides on what is good or what is evil? I do, and that is why I exist. that's not true. but do I decide what is true or what isn't? I don't think I do, but I'm not sure who does if not me. so maybe it is true. in any case, I have always sought to be good, but I am not the person I was last year, or the year before, or the year before. when I was a kid, people would tell me that people are evil, but I didn't feel very evil, so maybe it was an adult thing. well, I still don't get it. maybe I'm not old enough. still, my father is kinder than he used to be. is kindness good? to whom is he being kind to? to everyone, I suppose. except a few people. but why? well, for reasons. I'm not sure what I was going to do with those 20 reais, so I didn't ask for them back. some people think these things are all about respect, and I get that, but most people think I'm disrespectful by nature on account of my curious mannerisms. people tell me that those who do not answer a "good morning" back are all impossibly rude assholes. sometimes people say good morning to me while walking away from me, and while I have water in my mouth. because of the fear this is seen as rude, I turn around and try to speak, but of course, I cannot unless I swallow the water. and by then it's too late. maybe I should stop drinking water.
