The Quack Batch: Part 2

So this is a crochet project that I started back in March 👀 March 25th to be exact! And something that started as a 1 off, quickly grew to be the whole group! 🤣🎉

This time I'm introducing to you the next duck created...

Teck (Tech-Duck)

So! Tech was a normal version of the pattern that got MASSACRED for Cross 🤣. The only problem was...I started making the stitches too tight so he had a weird noggin 💀 This Teck is the second of 2 ducks created as Tech. The first one looked fine as a regular duck, but not with the goggles I had in mind 😅

So this one was actually very easy to do. His goggles, however, took HOURS of fighting and frustration and even with my determined winging-it and extensive notes...both eye socket for the goggles turned out different 💀💀💀

It was a LOT of do something, put it on the duck, take it off, add/subtract work, put back on the duck. It was a pain in the ass...

Well, the fandom does say that Tech and Cross are twins so I guess it's only right that both of them are pains in my ass 🤣

(Fun fact: my aunt almost snuck him off one day cuz his "glasses are to die for" and he belonged at her house as her cat's cuddle buddy - luckily I saved his ass)

I wish I had more to say, but Teck was a good duck and only gave me problems on one part 🤣

Onto the next...

So I set the project aside for over a month...Echo was next on the list (I was DREADING Hunter's tattoo and was doing everything in my power to avoid it) and i was in a big dilemma.

Canon...or...Fanon? 🤔

Echo's "skin" tone was the biggest roadblock I faced with this entire project, I won't sugar coat it. I knew no matter what choice I made, ppl would be mad. So I had asked around to a few friends, got their opinions - most of them went with Fanon (aka make him the same yellow as his brothers) but I found I wasn't quite happy with that. Now, I want to clarify. I ADORE seeing art and fics and whatnot where Echo has his colour back in his skin...however it isn't canon. And while I don't always agree or follow canon, there are some things that are harder for me to ignore than others.

So this is why I chose to make Ducho (Duck-Echo) paler than the rest

I used my 2nd favourite wool (1st fav is purple, not that he wouldn't've looked awesome in purple lol) and I took a lot more time when I made him. I thought really hard about how to make his headpiece, his little rivets? Nodes? aux ports? and his scomp. In the end, I settled for making the wing half grey for "metal" instead of attempting a scomp shape (it was NOT pretty and looked awful) and his headpiece ended up 2 stitches too short 💀 but I spent 3 ish whole days just on his "extras".

In the end, I am very happy with Ducho...and I love him dearly 💜 (And the Munchkins routinely fight over him lol)

Arts and Crafts Masterlist

After 7 months of my roommate seeing The Bad Batch in the background of his daily life, he decided to watch the show.

MIND YOU I had to take a day off work after the finale, crying on the couch to him about Tech and how horribly his death was handled, AND him ENCOURAGING ME to paint a Tech portrait in TECH’s honor…

This man made it to season 3 episode 9 and decided he needed a break because “it’s just so sad now, and they made Tech into a brainwashed monster machine, how could they make Tech into CX-2???”

And… my man, I get it… been there… but… how did you forget? Like it really was THAT mishandled.

In addition, my only other friend decided to watch it for the same reason. Completely saying “I don’t think I’ll ’get it, but I gotta watch’ … she now is rewatching it immediately after finishing and both her and my roommate are saying they should watch TCW because they need more of the clones.

I come to you again and ask - what the hell is with this show that makes us all feral???

the story of my last 8 months

Why write the next chapter to be published of your fic when you could skip ahead ten chapters and write filthy, filthy smut instead?

I was cry-laughing that the video credited Tech with his own “death”. 😭

Okay, so I I was on wookiepedia, not writing, and ended up on the page where it tally's everyone's kill counts, and saw this:

And I thought, "That can't be right" and looked into it further, and it only had her Season 1 kills.

So, naturally, I went on Youtube and found this video that details the Bad Batch's kill count for all 3 seasons, and it puts Omega at ~21.

Then I realized that the video fail to calculate the casualties caused by the zillo beast, for which Omega is directly responsible, and I looked up the bit of dialogue in which Scorch reports the number of troopers that were taken out by the zillo, which he said was a total of "2 divisions".

Now, according to Wookiepedia, one division consists of 5,000-10,000 soldiers.

So, in total, at the tender age of baby ~13 years out of the tube, Omega's REAL kill count is somewhere along the lines of approximately 10,021-20,021 (clankah's included).
