Why revise? Because we can!

Regardless of the senses, regardless of circumstances. I know I can go within and see, hear, have, be that which I want to. Isn't that beautiful?

So when someone is telling me something, I hear what I want to hear in my mind. I don't even care what it is, I hear what I want. I see what I want. I unknowledge what I want to.

My mind is my personal reality, my world is my mind reflected. Then the world is my personal reality.

When I woke up, I imagine my day as I want it to be and I know it will be as I wanted. When I am living my day, I only hear and see that which I want to. Before sleeping, I remember all the lovely things that happened.

Before sleeping, recreate your day. You ate your favorite food, won at the lottery, your hair was amazing, your sp confessed to you, your family was kind with you, you received that good news, they gave you flowers, you took the best grades, you saw a rainbow, you saw a pretty garden, you had a wonderful day.

Revise every little thing. Live in Imagination. Don't accept that which you don't want. Only unknowledge that which you want to. You are not a victim, you are the cause. You don't have to accept things you don't want to. Everything always works in your favour.

Do not wait. Don't dwell in circumstances, past, revise it. It is done.

okay i tried really hard to be ‘cautiously optimistic’ about that 90s show, and i held my tongue regarding most of the worries i had about the show until i saw it with my own eyes. but four episodes in and it’s such a disappointment. that 70s show is one of my favorite shows, and while i’m maybe not as big of a fan as some of the other people complaining about this reboot (i’m not as heavily involved in the fandom itself), i did grow up watching it and i do know the show and the characters practically like the back of my hand. there are so many flaws with the continuity and characterization of the og characters and plot. i could maybe forgive that if the new group of kids were entertaining (they’re not) or had even a smidge of the same chemistry and magic that the original cast had (they don’t). a lot of the jokes fall flat, things feel shoehorned in, there’s little to no substance, plots are being reused, and it’s nearly impossible to connect the reboot to t7s with how much cherry picking the writers did concerning what they considered canon. overall, it feels like more of a cheap cash grab than anything else, which is really sad to me

the Wednesday series is so silly goofy for even IMPLYING that gomez and morticia wouldn't know how to cover up a murder properly, let alone that Wednesday would be unironically scandalised by learning her parents had killed someone. like...do the clowns writing this show actually understand the premise/ethos of The Addams Family? why does this show constantly have them allying with/grovelling at the feet of institutions?? why bother making a show about Wednesday and by extension the Addams family if you're not going to honour their competent oddness and satirical anti-establishment roots? and that's before we even get into the weird ass colourblind racism all throughout this show. I cannot believe there's a scene in this show where morticia addams, a white woman, tells a Black man he has "no idea what it's like not to be believed." I can't believe that the ringleader of the bullies who is bigotedly abusing the "outcasts" is a young Black boy. The antiblackness is insane. like, really? it's so obvious there are next to no poc in significant creative roles on this show which is so fucked considering they not only made Wednesday Latine, but made her ancestory an integral part of the series. I feel like a broken record at this point, but surface level diversity in casting means absolutely nothing so long as the people holding creative control are white. It's just elaborate puppetry, and too many of you fall for it everytime. All this show does is use actors or colour to pay lip-service to the "whitewashing" of history, while the show itself is written and directed almost exclusively by white people. As far as I can tell there is one director of colour, Gandja Monteiro, who directs 2 mid season eps. Every single other person in creative decision making roles is white. It's an absolute JOKE.

do revenge was unbelievable, and quite literally everything i could possibly want in a movie. a modern retelling of jawbreaker with updated filmography while still keeping the candy-colored psychological thriller aesthetic the whole time. all the same campiness and more. honoring jawbreaker’s fundamental thesis of teenage girls being obsessed with each other in a horrifically destructive and homoerotic way, and tapping into the inherent horror that coming of age stories for teen girls so often exude. the stark commentary on today’s youth weaponizing social justice terminology to persuade their peers of their own moral absolution while still committing the same social atrocities of previous generations. evil lesbians who manipulate each other and can never be together despite their mutual obsession with each other. the ultimate takedown and dethroning of the real villain at the end. CAMILA MENDES.

✨ Free Books For Beginner Witches 🌿

So these are some books I’d recommend to a beginner who isn’t sure where to start. It’s important to keep in mind that some of these books are heavily influenced by specific religious or spiritual beliefs and practices. Also remember that it’s really difficult to find good resources on witchcraft that is completely 100% factual; especially good free resources. So don’t come for me if some of these books are “problematic” by today’s standards. Beginner’s are gonna have to eventually learn to do the work necessary to be able to discern what is and isn’t appropriation. And the best way to do that is by making sure you’re following and listening to BIPOC spiritualists and witches.

Also keep in mind that I will not be sharing beginner books for any specific practices that are considered closed. Some academic type books I share may go into more details about a closed practice but it’s almost always from a historical point of view. And isn’t intended to give the reader a “how to” manual on practicing it. Okay, onto the books.

🌱 The Oxford Illustrated History of Witchcraft and Magic — This is the kind of book you read when you’re looking for a more academic approach to witchcraft and learning about the roots. In my opinion it doesn’t even scratch the surface on witchcraft and can be kinda hard to follow at times. And a bit of a bore to get through. But it’s still a good starting point for beginners.

🌿 A History of Magic, Witchcraft, and the Occult — This book is much easier to get through, in my opinion, then the the Oxford one. Again, it’s not a “how to do magic” type book. And it doesn’t go too greatly into detail about one practice or another. The thing with these types of books is they’re meant as a general overview of witchcraft. It’s a good starting point to figure out what kind of witchcraft, magic or spiritual practice you’re interested in

🌻 The Anthropology of Religion, Magic, and Witchcraft — Yes, another academic style book. This is absolutely more of a text book than a read for pleasure type book. But it’s full of great information. And another great staring point for beginners.

✨ Cunningham's Encyclopedia of Magical Herbs — I think just about every witch will recommend this book to any beginner.

🌙 The Crystal Bible — Another commonly recommended book for beginners. This doesn’t cover all crystals and doesn’t go into much historical or scientific reasons for their use. It’s more of a reference guide, a jumping off point.

🌞 Learning Astrology: An Astrology Book for Beginners — A really good starting place if you’re a witch interested in astrology.

🍄 Green Witchcraft: A Practical Guide to Discovering the Magic of Plants, Herbs, Crystals, and Beyond — Another good beginners book. This sort of mixed the Magical Herbs and Crystal Bible book together. Honestly, I’d suggest those 2 books first but this is handy to reference.

🦋 The Complete Book of Incense, Oils and Brews — Another pretty basic beginners book that’s popular to recommend. Again, a good starting point.

🌝 Moon Magic: A Handbook of Lunar Cycles, Lore, and Mystical Energies — A beginner friendly intro to moon magic. Not the most informative book (it’s one of the newest on the list) but it’s a good jumping off point.

🌼 The Green Witch: Your Complete Guide to the Natural Magic of Herbs, Flowers, Essential Oils, and More — Very beginner friendly introduced into a more earth based practice. This is more than just a reference book of magical herbs, it’s more of a “how to” book on earth magic.

🦇 Dictionary of Symbols — This is more of a reference book, rather than something you’d actually sit down and read through. And it’s not necessarily “witchy” but I feel like it fits into the same theme.

🌛 Folkloric American Witchcraft and the Multicultural Experience: A Crucible at the Crossroads — An interesting read for any beginner witch in America.

And there are some of my book recommendations. Of course there’s a ton of books out there for specific paths/practices but I didn’t want to include those books because I’m not sure what practice you’re interested in; and also this list would have been 3x as long lol.

I feel like I have to keep saying this but: Remember that these are beginner book recommendations and are not meant to be extensive or complete information. I’ve yet to find a book with all the information in it lol. This is a place to start.

I honestly believe The Boys is a genius show because it can show you a man committing violent murder and abusing the shit out of everyone he deems inferior (which is literally everyone), then shows how a company can use internet culture to gain/keep popularity and yet you can still sit down and write a 1k+ fic about him falling in love with you?!

The show is literally calling you out and you can’t even see it!

AHHHHHHH jesse sitting between walt and saul with his back turned to bad choice road while saul calls SHOTGUN and walt says IM DRIVING. Obviously of course by this point in the actual original story (when they all meet in “better call Saul”) jesse is still full steam ahead on this path, but now that we’re revisiting their first meeting again at the end of it all they’re telling us the end game of the characters in “breaking bad”…ahhhh why is it like this!!! why do they take seemingly simple lines like “shotgun” “I’m driving” and scoop your brain out with them.
