In Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga, after Mario and Luigi obtain their first pair of hammers, Sledge and Mallet (also known as the Hammerhead Bros.) explain how to use them in battle with a tutorial. The tutorial is completely scripted and it is not possible to defeat the Hammerhead Bros.; however, in the game’s code, this is not accomplished by designating them as special tutorial opponents, but rather by giving them an extremely high amount of HP.
Sledge and Mallet each have 5000 HP. This is several times higher than the final boss, who only has 1200 HP, making them the most powerful entities battled in the entire game. If the game is hacked to give Mario and Luigi enough attack power to defeat them, the game crashes.

X-ray artwork of Bowser found on the official Japanese site for Mario & Luigi: Bowser’s Inside Story + Bowser Jr.’s Journey in 2018. Zooming in on the artwork reveals silhouettes of Mario and Luigi inside Bowser’s chest (directly underneath his chin in the image).

Out of the five (non-remake) games in the Mario & Luigi series, only Mario & Luigi: Dream Team does not feature the inside of Peach's Castle, with only the outside of the castle being seen in the intro.
However, the game's files contain an unused battle background depicting the inside of the castle, suggesting that some type of tutorial battle could have taken place inside (similar to Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga's tutorial battle against Bowser).
