it really hurts me to see so many gazans asking us for help, though that's through no fault of their own. they've been forced to use a social media site that they're probably not familiar with (because tumblr has kind of faded out of popular consciousness), to interact with us in a second language, to distinguish themselves from the scammers who are taking advantage of genocide, and to ask strangers for help. i don't think there are any cultures where it's easy to ask for help like this, but i'm intimately familiar with how humiliating it can be in arab culture. please be kind, gracious and helpful to the gazans in your inbox. this is a desperate time for them, and in addition to the physical danger inflicted by "israel", the prices of basic resources in gaza are extremely high due to scarcity, and those that manage to escape to egypt are financially exploited by landlords there and have an extremely difficult time finding work due to their unofficial status as refugees. these families will continue to need our help and i hope we can all continue to provide it to the best of our ability.

PALESTINIAN LITERATURE READING LIST

After the hospital bombing, I finally heard back from my grandmother and confirmed that several of my relatives were murdered by Israeli bombing. Seven of them, to be precise. Three are still going, including her. We've been talking constantly ever since.

Asked if it was possible to head south, and was told they did but were also bombed there. So they decided to go back home, in Zeitoun. Their home was bombed and they were pulled out of the rumble, then driven by ambulances to the al-Ahli Arab Hospital. There were people in every corner. Gazans sheltering, sleeping on the floor. Gazans dying on the floor, waiting for beds.

Four were declared dead on arrival, three were in need of surgery and other three were just bandaged. Then, a bomb was dropped in the parking lot that made parts of the ceiling collapse, like Dr. Ghassan Abu Sittah reported in that horrific conference/interview. Those in need of surgery died.

By the way, just in case you didn't know: the Church of Saint Porphyrius, the third oldest in history, bombed by Israel a few days back, was located near the hospital.

When looking for new shelter, they saw schools with signs hanging outside, "We can't take any more families." They met families, sympathetic but already sheltering too many people. They're now staying in an apartment building they found empty. Sleeping in the corner of the living room. If the family comes back, they'll apologize and leave.

Told me she was saving her phone battery for when the bombing stopped, and she had to ask for help to rebuilt the neighborhood. But she doesn't think it's gonna stop anymore. The ones still with her are mute most of the time, like they're saving energy, but she feels lonely and wanted to talk. There's no internet and to connect to WhatsApp, people are buying "a card from the supermarket, there's a password and username." Not sure what she meant. Still, the internet is inconsistent and won't load neither videos or images nor pages, so she doesn't know what's happening on the outside world.

Told her there were a lot of people protesting to stop the genocide, she replied, "The bombings are getting worse by the day." The bombing yesterday was the worst she ever witnessed. The entire neighborhood is infested with the smell of death, of decomposing bodies. Bodies are piling up in the streets and she's not sure if it's because they ran out of places to store them, but most of them are in bags. The smoke of the bombings hide the blue sky—she hasn't seen the clouds for a while.

Asked if I could share their pictures, names and dreams with people and was told, of which I partly agree, "they're not entertainment." If anyone genuinely cared, they would be alive—I'd argue there are people who do care, but I'm not gonna lecture her pain. And they don't deserve to be used to fulfill someone's sick fantasy. Told me to remember what some Israelis do with pictures of dead Palestinians. And I do.

For those of you who are not familiar, many times before settlers got together to celebrate the murder of Palestinians. For one, in 2015, Israeli settlers set a house in Duma, West Bank on fire. An 18-month old baby, Ali Dawbsheh, was burnt alive. Both parents later died of wounds and only a 5-year-old, Ahmad, survived, although severely injured.

Two celebrations of their murder are widely known, one at a wedding and others outside the court in which two were indicted for the terrorist attack. In the wedding, guests stabbed a photo of the toddler, Ali, while others waved guns, knives and Molotov cocktails. Israel's Minister of National Security, Itamar Ben-Gvir, was present.

That's what happens in an apartheid. Palestinians are so abused by authorities that their "innocent civilians" come to accept the brutality as necessary or are desensitized by our suffering. After all, it's been 75 years—get used to it!

So I won't risk the image of my loved ones, in fear they are used in these kinds of depravity. I will say, though, the world lost a young footballer. Lost a female writer and an aspiring ballerina. Lost a kind father, who was also a great cook, and a loving mother that enjoyed sewing and other types of handicraft art. Lost a math teacher and a child that wanted to become one.

People think Israel is testing new weapons on them. There's civilians arriving at the hospital with severe burns, which they thought was from white phosphorus, but apparently the pattern is different from the one caused by white phosphorus. It's widely believed Israel tests weapons in Palestinians.

Jeff Halper, author of War Against the People, a book on Israel's arms and surveillance technology industries, said: "Israel has kept the occupation because it's a laboratory for weapons."

They've ran out of drinkable water and the "aid" Biden sent was only for the South of Gaza and no fuel, for hospitals, was allowed in. Many shelves in the supermarket are empty. She said many are convinced that if they don't die from the bombing, they'll die from starvation or dehydration, or whatever disease will develop from the dirty water they're drinking.

Told me all people do now is pray, cry and die. Told me she hopes West Bank is spared. Told her Israel bombed a mosque in West Bank and dozens of Palestinians in West Bank are being murdered by settlers, so she bided me goodbye.

An idea I wanted to play around with and wrote

The Sect Leader and Madam of the Yunmeng Jiang Sect sat side by side each other where they could watch over the sect training shaded from the scorching sun. The younger disciples where the center of their attention today. A group of young disciples stood to the side in a rigid position, not daring to show any signs of discomfort or lax with their Sect Leader present. Sandu Shengshou was known for his temper and lack of patience for nonsense. A personal lecture from him was an experience one could live without. They also had to keep their eyes in check, particularly the teachers standing alongside the young disciples. If they lost focus their eyes would start drifting towards Madam Jiang. If the Sect Leader could be defined as a demon from hell the Madam Jiang was an angel, no a goddess. He carried himself with the utmost grace and his beauty was nothing to joke around. Most couldn’t help but stop everything they were doing to simply admire him walking by. A pity that he hid his face most times behind a fan, still only a small complaint as the action only caused him to appear more alluring. Even so, anyone found admiring Madam Jiang’s beauty for too long had great odds of meeting the Sect Leader’s jealousy. Despite their different personalities their Sect Leader was very fond of his cultivation partner.

I FORGOT TO SCHEDULE THE POST YESTERDAY, UWAAANN—!!! (;´༎ຶД༎ຶ`)

I'm bored, so I want to make a list of some of the TWST boys and which one of the Disney Princesses/Heroines that they would be the most compatible with. Let's begin!

Vil=Belle: I don't see him being drawn to an aged up Snow White or Neige. He might find a partner like that too naïve and airy, which would grind his gears. However, I can see him going for someone like Belle.

Contrary to how it might seem at first, Vil isn't vain. He has a lot of issues with his appearances, don't get me wrong, but he values people's intelligence and hard work above all else. He's friends with Jack, who is fair from being the pretty boy archetype. One of his voice lines, Vil says that he admires the Evil Queen, even in her hag form due to her intelligence.

Belle fits that bill. She's very intelligent and clever, being able to put him in his place before he does something stupid. I can see him admiring that about her.

Jamil=Jasmine or Moana: Both of these ladies share his desire to break out of their current circumstances and travel the world, being able to understand him at a fundamental level. Jasmine's feisty and sassy nature would break down his walls while Moana's adventurous spirit would do the same. He would admire both of their wits, bravery and abilities to stand up for themselves. Jamil dating someone rich would also help to dismantle a lot of his biases about the Asims.

(Fun fact: I also dabble in astrology, and according to his birth chart, he's destined to have a rich partner. Do with that information as you will.)

Riddle=Luz or Alice (both aged up): @thosebrookfieldgirls mentioned this one, and I tend to agree. While Luz isn't a Disney Princess, she is a heroine from a Disney show. She's like a modern day Alice in a lot of ways with her curiosity and love of fantasy. I can see her falling for him for similar reasons that she fell for Amity. He can teach her to value rules and help bring her down to earth while she can make him break out of his shell, and help him loosen up and have fun again. Same thing goes for Alice.

Malleus=Aurora: Malleus would fall for a partner would is kind hearted and wouldn't judge him. I think she fits that bill. Honestly, this dynamic feels a lot like canon MalleYuu. xD

Leona=Eilonwy (aged up): Eilonwy, for those of you who don't know, is the princess from The Black Cauldron. She is very fiery and determined, so she wouldn't put up with his BS, being able to call him out when he needs it. I can see him doing the same in reverse. I can see them sharing a similar dynamic to Kris/Leona from Thorns and Ink in that regard.

Azul=Ariel or Reille: They both similar interests in the human world, wanting to prove others around them wrong, and hobbies like collecting things. They would have a good understanding for one another. If she knew him as a kid, she would stand up for him against his bullies, which make him no doubt form a crush on her. I can see him thinking her voice is beautiful. Similar thing goes for Reille if he's like the princess he's based on.

Idia=Meg: Meg's extroversion and sass would break Idia out of his shell. They would be the ultimate beauty influencer/gamer boy power couple. xD

Epel=Mulan: They are both determined and fiery spirits, who would do anything to protect those they care about. I can see them bonding and understanding each other due to that.

The two siblings swerve their heads to meet an anxious you, cowering against the wall, a little concern of the commotion going on.

“but he didn’t spice up his looks in the curry and I’m trying to help make this date more, you know, colorful!”

You sighed, but a smile was plastered on your face. Jamil’s younger sister was truly something.

“How about this,” you suggested, from a cabinet you pulled out a jar of herb garnishes; their mother gave you the grand tour of the house, especially the kitchen. You knew where everything was now.

Taking a handful of a pinch, you sprinkled it around the curry, and now adding two cinnamon stick spice at the side. It was just to add in a hint of flavor when you stir with it (I guess so???), but in any case, it was to make it more aesthetic. You continued adding artistic and simple touches as the two Vipers watched you intently, curious of what you were doing.

The curry dish was much more brighter and lively than before. Najma eyes seem to sparkle.

“Woahhhh! So pretty! See Jamil, you had to have your own lover do this for you.”

Jamil’s eyes twitched. “Can you not…in front of them..?”

Najma just rolled her eyes and stook out her tongue at him. She quickly smiled brightly at you, taking both your hands in hers. 

“Y/n! You should totally come to our home next time! And during those times, I’ll show you round the market! Actually- no- TODAY! TODAY AFTER LUNCH, LET’S GO EAT NOW!” She hurriedly took the pot of curry as carefully as she could, rushing to the dining table excited as she can be.

Jamil’s eyes softened. He’s glad his sister enjoys being with you, and likes that you were with him, or at least, likes you.

He sighed. “Geez, that girl..”

You chuckled. “I don’t mind her. I think she’s such a cute little sister!”

Jamil smiled, going up to you to kiss your forehead.

You snorted and smiled.

Here's the thing: despite his flaws, KRS-Cale's charisma is insane, even for protagonist standards. Why is that?

Sure, it's a standard protagonist quality to use the ✨Power of Friendship✨ to save the day, but Cale has the unique ability to – completely unintentionally – turn EVERYONE around him into simps, sometimes even his enemies. And that, bizarrely, includes the audience. No don't lie to me, I've been in this fandom for a month already, I have eyes!

So, how does that keep happening, exactly??

A no, this does not apply only to romantic relationships - it's ALL relationships. Every person has their own preferences, both in showing and receiving them, usually 2 or 3 of them being the most important ones for a person. For example, I'm a "words" and "touch" person myself: I like hugs and people telling me they care about me. Pretty simple concept.

So, here's the thing. I've been re-reading TCF, and I came to a very important conclusion: Cale, completely by accident, absolutely excels at all five love languages.

It's so subtle you might not realize it at first. It does't sound like someone with such a closed personality, does it? It's especially confusing when you consider his background: an abused orphan who was pretty much always alone. But perhaps because he never recieved much affection growing up, he currently compensates by subconsciously sharing what he always wanted to receive, yet never got as a child. And because he ends up in a world where he's surrounded by abused children who didn't get enough affection, it's so darn effective, winning people's undying love and loyalty instantly.

Let's look at these one by one, shall we?

1. Words of affirmation

Cale has a tendency to accidentally say exactly what the listener needs to hear. But it's not all bluff, and not all luck. Cale is actually quite wise. He gives proper words of encouragement, based entirely on his knowledge and judgemment. For example: he tells Choi Han that he can protect people. He tells Raon that he should live freely and that he's great and mighty. He tells Alberu he deserves to rule the kingdom. He tells Mary not to "listen to nonsense". He tells Rosalyn she's reliable and capable. The list goes on and on.

Cale might not be saying "I love you" directly, but he is saying "Good job, take good care of yourself"... which pretty much amounts to the same thing.

2. Quality time

It might sound ridiculous, but... taking down Arm and saving the world is actually their perfect family quality time. Laugh if you want, but I'm serious! They're not a regular family, after all. They were all hurt, scarred and/or betrayed by the secret organization at some point. By destroying them and saving the world together, Cale not only gives his friends a purpose - he is also giving them closure. Revenge, retribution, healing, moving forward... it's all there. THAT'S some quality time!

3. Physical touch

While he's certainly not hugger or anything (not counting the Choi Han battle hug or Alberu's showman embraces, those were always an act), Cale is not averse to touching people either. Head pats for the children are quite common. Cale also touches people on the shoulder a lot, have you noticed? Like when Jack cried over Hannah, or when Cale congratulated Choi Han on a job well done after rescuing Raon. It's subtle, but it's there: his touch means support, affection and respect. It definitely counts.

4. Acts of service

Pretty much everything Cale does ends up helping other people, one way or another. Considering the sheer scale of Cale's actions, it's only natural that combined with the other love languages, it makes others feel great admiration towards Cale. He might not like it, because he sees those acts of service as "self-serving". But I think Cale was the most honest about it at the beginning of the story: when he gave On and Hong bread for the first time. "You don't need a reason for things your heart draws you to."

Cale actually, genuinely wants to help others. It's just he's so overworked already, he doesn't want the expectations and responsibility that comes with other people relying on him. As an orphan, he was made to believe that taking care of his own interests is inherently selfish, but somehow, he only applies that when thinking about himself. Despite everything, he actively encourages others to take care of themselves while neglecting himself. No wonder people love him.

5. Receiving gifts

Despite liking money so much, he's extremely generous. He lets go of five billions when selling Toonka – whom he "doesn't even like" – some documents back from the magic tower pretty much "just because". Sure, Alberu told him to do it, but Cale wouldn't listen to him if he didn't want to. You'd think his previous life of poverty would make him greedier than that. But while he steals from bad guys with no remorse, he gives to his allies freely with even less remorse. Sure, he expect them to "repay" him with their services, but you'd have to be blind not to notice how beneficial those deals are for everyone involved. And his kids? Cale downright spoils them. Sure he "scams" Raon by letting him pick one magic gemstone out of hundreds, or a single coin out of Alberu's pockets... but that's just responsible parenting more than anything.

And remember how he asked Basen and Lily what they wanted as a gift at the beginning? There was absolutely no alterior motive to that: zero. He did it literally just because. Remeber when he gave Raon an additional pouch with healing potions when he just met him? Or when he gave Choi Han the same pouch when he sent him off to find Lock and Rosalyn? Yeah. Cale does that pretty much all the time in the novel.

Conclusion: the reason why Cale is so lovable is because he's already so loving 😊

Jamil felt like he had the obligation to protect you

So when he round the corner and saw some Scarabians picking on you  he was about to get on their heads for messing with you

“Why would a Vice dorm head ever get with someone who can’t even speak for themselves?”

Oh my is this was it about?

Yes you were a quiet person but that’s something you shouldn’t be picked on. 

“Oi, why don’t you just shut up and leave me alone” 

Your tone just changed, no your whole aura just changed 

Your face darkened and a smile was no longer on your face

“What the hell is wrong with this guy?” 

You stepped closer to them you getting reeaaalll close to their face

“Why don’t you just leave me alone, okay?” 

Jamil was now leaning on the pillar, a smile on his face 

You were clenching your fist, you meant business

“Oh another thing, don’t ever talk down about me or the Vice dorm head again” 

When you backed off the face you always had was back, the soft smile and happy face but your eyes didn’t smile. 

Your eyes were threatening 

“O-okay, okay we get it whatever man, Man he’s weird” 

Jamil now appeared behind you and he was leaning over your shoulder

“That was interesting” 

You quickly turned around meeting Jamil's eyes 

“O-oh hi Jamil! What brings you here?” 

“ I live here” 

“O-oh right!” 

Jamil pretended he didn’t see anything and was having a nice peasantry with you. 

When he was called to help Kalim he gave you quick kiss on the temple and whisper “I want to see more of that personality” 

Leaving you red in the face.

Idia is barely outside so when he is your always by his side 

He doesn’t know why you bother to be with him but you had to remind him that your his boyfriend and that you love him 

Idia always gets red when you remind him that you're his boyfriend. 

Now you two were just playing video games in the courtyard when you a splash was heard 

Water is all over you and Idia

You looked around to see some heartslabyul chuckling 

“Oops sorry, I tripped” They were snickering and laughing at you two

Idia was going to say something until you hopped off the bench and walked over to them

The smile you always had was still on but your eyes told a different story 

You came face to face with them looking them straight in the eyes

“What… THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING? YOU THINK THIS IS FUNNY HA??” 

That scared Idia and the heartslabyul boys who poured the water on you  

You were telling them off, your face was getting redder and redder the more you arguing with them

Ortho brought towels to help dry off Idia and you

“Nii-san are you going to do something?” 

“WHAT?! You want me to comfort them?!” 

Idia was trying to work up the courage to pull you away from them 

You looked like you were about to beat them up 

That was until someone else voice piped up 

“WHAT IS THE MEANING OF THIS?!” 

Idia looked up seeing Riddle red in the face with Trey and Cater following close behind. 

“Eep, Riddle hey” Riddle turned to see Idia drenched in water. 

He looked back to you who was fuming and drenched in water. 

“Shroud-senpai, did my dorm drenched you and (y/n) in water?” 

Idia just gave a short nod

“You two, you know what happens when you mess with another dorm. Hell you two messed with another Dorm head.” Trey spoke up 

The heartslabyul face shrunk in fear 

“Rosehearts Dorm Head, I hope you take care of your dorm members better”

An apology was given by the two of them and apologies from the dorm and Vice dorm head

You walked back to idia who was trying to hide away but Ortho was pulling on his sleeve. 

“Are you okay?” 

A little eep was heard when Idia revealed his face which had a small blush on his face

“I-I didn’t know you, where like that. You were like a video game player who uses a female avatar but when angry you sound scary and cute” 

A smile was plastered on your face and you gave a quick kiss on his cheek 

“Well lets head back to ignihyde so we can dry off”

Um, I don’t think anyone needs this, but I decided to make TWST OC templates in between my chores so…I don’t even know why I made these lolol~

The so-called, “oc template market” is already so saturated, but I’m sure the fandom can handle one more—

I don’t have a sample right now, but the template is pretty straightforward. In the brackets, you input your oc’s name in katakana, and right below that, in English lettering. You can add your desired CV right above the line before the “age,best subject, etc.,” slightly lower than the English lettering of your oc’s name. (I hope that makes sense.)

Edit: (I’ve uploaded a sample of what that should look like, please see my reply in the notes if you’re interested.)

Then, at the very bottom, beside the “Unique Magic,” input the name of your oc’s Unique Magic there, and a short description of what it does under the line. I do hope you guys enjoy using this template!
