My Take on Jimin’s Doc That No One Asked For:

I will never be someone who tells people how to feel. I have seen a lot of discourse from fans of Jimin voicing how upset they are that Jimin’s doc is not launching on Disney Plus or Netflix or in theaters. While I have no doubt that Jimin’s album release experienced certain levels of sabotage, I don’t really think this documentary being on Weverse is part of that story.

Remember, this album was extremely personal to Jimin. He even included a hidden track, and only those that bought his CD could hear it. Also take a look at his schedule for this doc. Every single time listed is in KST with no conversions to western times. Jimin isn’t trying to promote this to a global market. And with how he has been treated in the west by fans and the industry itself why would he? Of course, this is just my opinion. I’m not going to tell someone that they can’t be upset that he isn’t getting the same audience reach that the other members had. But, I’d be willing to bet that was his choice to some extent. We know Jimin loves his privacy and this album was personal to him, so it makes sense that he would want to keep it that way. Just my two cents.

Just me reblogging this one more time because how? How could I forget this moment?  And now that I remembered it, how could I not share it?

Oh, and I already mentioned JM's outfit happening to be oh so very similar to JK's in his dance practice, haven't I? A dance practice that happened to be released on the same day a couple of hours before JM posted this dance clip.

You know what member of BTS I want to see do western collabs? Namjoon. Namjoon has excellent music taste imo. He shared one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite albums to drop this year and they have a new record coming out next month. He’s also shared other favorite artists of mine on Instagram such as: Caroline Polachek, Kendrick Lamar, Lana Del Rey, Frank Ocean, King Krule. Namjoon keeps up with new releases and it’s so cool. Not to mention him sharing Parannoul???? I SCREAMED. Parannoul is not western it’s a Korean shoegaze instrumental artist but still! Indigo is one of my favorite solo projects from a member of BTS. It’s raw, intelligent, and thought provoking. I would honestly love to see Joon go full indie boy. I love that he’s a little indie boy on the inside who loves boygenius. Melts my heart.

Let's clarify some stuff.

So! A lot of i-army are so annoying when it comes to this that it makes me want to slap the life out of them, they keep on doing the same shit over and over again.

If you wonder what i'm talking about it's the lack of comprehension when it comes to the Korean culture which leads lots of silly ARMY to make a whole ass kdrama over something that for Korean people it's nothing offending, nothing bad and it's funny to me how these same people are quick to come at people commenting "Speak English" sweetheart you ain't better if you're not gonna bother learn about the boys culture because making a 10 pages essay about why this or that is wrong.

You might've guessed what i'm about about to talk about but yes it's about the whole "Jeon Jimin" and the way some dumbasses took it. If your own culture says that a partner, traditionally a wife, takes her husband's last name, that doesn't mean it is the way the whole world works. Am i Korean? No, In MY culture does the wife take her husband's last name? Also no.

The whole thing about Jeon Jimin yes it's annoying when they're repeating it with the intention of it being a ship name but NO in Korean culture typically it is not used to refer to them as being married or whatever is in YOUR culture that you are projecting on the Korean culture. If anything them having the same family name would mean they are blood related in some way.

I'm pretty sure JK saw it as some type of combination of their names as a duo/subunit so y'all losing your shit and reaching with the "He was uncomfortable" can sit on a cactus. I just said in my previous post that if JK wanted to call out bullshit comments that DO make him uncomfortable he would've done that.

This is not the first time the boys are hearing their duo name

Heck Vope is even a combination Tae and Hobi tried to come up with for their duo name so i wonder where were these people back then to police about it that intensely. Straying from the fandom i want to mention Woosan for example, do some people ship/support them? Yes, is Woosan only used as a ship name? Hell no even their members call them Woosan.

Now before some start saying that it's not the same thing we're over here talking about last names yada yada, i want to remind you of this run episode :

"Kim Jungkook" "Park Jungkook" "Jegal Jungkook" and it was all fun and games not one person felt uncomfortable with it. So while yes you are right to call out the shipping intent, you can't just go the extra mile to project your own "discomfort" onto JK because what YOU understood is not what HE understood and that boy doesn't hide his discomfort so there's that.

Please.. Y'all are tiring, no one is asking you to go learn about the Korean culture in a day, maybe take some time while the boys are in MS and start learning more about it to have a better understanding of a lot of things they do or say. This of course doesn't apply to just Korean artists with a Korean culture, this should be the norm for everyone around the world. If someone isn't from your culture, please don't impose your own culture on them.

Golden Tracklist Thoughts

If you haven’t seen the tracklist, here it is and I do have some thoughts.

I actually am not sharing the same sentiment as a lot of people who are disappointed that JK has no writing credits on this album. Because honestly, I can relate to his burnout. Re: me not updating any of my fanfics in like a year and wanting to start over as a writer. We know Jungkook is talented in both producing and songwriting. I think the only sad part is the complete separation from his roots. All of these producers and writers are western which makes it feel less personal. Written in a language that isn’t his native tongue makes it feel less personal.

However, I am glad to see limited features. I expected them to throw a western artist on every single track, so I’m glad we will just get some JK. But then again, y/n stans especially are going to use this album as fuel for their “JK is straight” fire because I’m sure it’s going to be filled with girl, she, her, woman all over the place. These people will have no critical thinking skills to connect the dots that Jungkook didn’t write these songs, so they aren’t coming from a place of literal experience. See: people already screaming “WHO HURT JUNGKOOK” all over twitter just from the names of the songs. *eye rolling past every post that I’m seeing saying the same tired phrasing* Please. As if Jungkook hasn’t always loved a good ballad, and again, these songs were not written by him!!!

This is why the heteroification of JK as an artist is something I loathe. It’s not Jungkook himself. It’s not because I want him to be like Troye Sivan right now in drag giving a lap dance in a music video. Well, I could dream okay. By the way, Troye’s album is refreshing and amazing, but I digress. If Jungkook wants to sing these songs, fine. It’s the way that these y/n fans react that I can’t stand. It’s the way that it will only increase their rabid, lustful creepy behavior towards him which pisses me off. That’s why I hate this era for him. He’s just a tool for their sexual fantasies not an actual person. A person, I might add, that they don’t pay attention to his words, actions and mannerisms except for his thrusting on stage. 🙄

But make no mistake, I don’t think this is the real JK. I think the real JK loves his bandmate JM and has for years. But they are enlisting soon, so now is not really the time for Jungkook to dump all of his homo feelings for his bandmate on an album, is it? He probably did feel burnt out, lost, and uninspired to write music. With something as daunting as MS looming over your head, that leaves little space for creativity. He was probably a little stubborn too that he couldn’t really put it all out on the table. I personally think Jungkook wants out of the closet, even more so than Jimin and all of his bi colored themed photo shoots. I think JK would declare his love for Jimin tomorrow publicly if he could.

I still stand by my personal belief too that Jungkook was pushed into this western market direction to some extent. Yes, we know he likes western music and always has. Yes, he said he wants to be a big pop star, but we also know that he made no progress towards releasing an album until 🛴 stepped in. And that can’t be ignored from the equation either. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.

So, I will keep an open mind, hoping that I like some of the songs. Hoping that some of them feel authentic to the real Jungkook. Hoping that they show off his immense vocal talent. And I’ll be looking forward to seeing Jimin continue to support him. Because that speaks volumes to me. More than songs written in a language foreign to Jungkook by other people.

I had a thought after reading JKs comments from his Stationhead session, no girlfriend etc.

In my opinion, not enough attention was paid to the White Day live he did when Jimin was in New York. It was really, to me, so incredibly emotional and a deep deep expression of his love. When he put on the white dress shirt, and told Jimin he dressed up for him. When he poured that second small glass drink, held it to his forehead, closed his eyes then poured it into his big drink and drank the combo. Such an emotional moment, I cried with him. Then held up his hand with the JM so close to the camera.

Case closed. They are forever. 💜
