Oh god, I fucking hate the ‘states rights’ thing. It’s just blatantly untrue. The best reply is ‘state’s rights to do what?’, because the answer is own slaves, meaning that the civil war was about slavery. 32,400,000,000 / 2.295x10^13 = 0.00141% of the budget since it made its first flight.

And claiming that a plane is bad because it’s only got a single A-A kill? I guess ANY experimental aircraft must be terrible in your opinion. What about bombers? They don’t tend to get A-A kills, completely useless I guess, waste of money. Hell, the Po-2 has confirmed jet kills, why not just give the pilots back an equivalent of that? Hmm? Or the U-2, ohhh god the U-2 must be the worst plane ever made in York opinion. No air-to-air kills, can’t fight, must be a complete waste of money.

The F-22 Raptor program began in the early 90s and has cost a total of, according to one source, $32.4 billion dollars. It has been by most metrics a complete failure which has failed to produce a viable multirole air superiority fighter. It has - by the act of replacing certain obsolete aircraft but then being cancelled after the aircraft it replaced were retired - punched holes in the USAF's lineup that the F-35, its successor, cannot fill. It also has the dubious distinction of its production process being so monstrously fucked that it would, at this point, cost less money to invent a new aircraft than to restart F-22 production.

Until today, it had zero confirmed kills. It now has one - an unarmed, unmanned balloon.

In a very real way, the United States just paid $32.4 billion to pop a balloon.

Capitalism is not perfect. This is a fact. There is no perfect economic ideology. Communism sounds great but it has never worked for a reason. Socialism makes too many assumptions that everyone will just magically play along. Capitalism is not perfect, it has plenty of mistakes, but it is as of right now the best option we have as a society. Marxism/Communism doesn’t work without ethnic genocide (stated by Karl Marx in the Communist Manifesto), for example. Capitalism may not be great, but I’d rather be poor under Capitalism than be murdered by a genocide under communism for having 2 crumbs more bread than my neighbour. Yes that is hyperbole.

Critique Capitalism all you want. Genuinely, do, I and many others will fully support you. But do not claim that there is another system that can be implemented successfully that would be better, because there is not, and you will be a liar if you claim that. Too many people nowadays see ‘I think Capitalism isn’t that amazing’ and immediately jump to the conclusion of ‘you’re a communist’, and vice versa (‘oh you like capitalism? You must be a nazi/billionaire.’ Yes I have been called a Nazi for calling someone out on supporting murdering innocent people, the internet is wild and calling others Nazis for supporting rather anti-Nazi behaviour is not below some people).
