Winter is a time of gathering due to cold weather. A collective retreat in doors. But it goes so much further than that. We have a tradition built around bringing plant life, or fake plant life around us. Ever feel nature withdraw? It’s become a socially accepted part of society through this disguise. Camouflaged, like a tree in the woods, hidden in the corners of every Christian and non-christain household. How deep rooted the idea is in the habits of society that its a part of Christmas. Winter solstice. Decemeber Festivities. Whatever the proper nomenclature is nowadays.

Still Indifferent

If you've read something I've written, and it made no sense to you, you're not alone. I don't get it either. The mumbo jumbo, witchcraft, crap I've pounded out senselessly under the influence is simply a stream of words colloquially strung together to form what many call "sentences". In other words: big words, long sentences, no understanding. I'm hoping with a new year, I can express myself with less clutter and in digestible bites. Just because you can't see the pain doesn't mean it isn't hiding within. We're all hurting. At least I know I am. I just don't talk about it. It's not even new years, yet 2015 brings the reminder that I'm still alone.

Have you ever wondered why religion has exisited for so long and continues to be a staple part of every society? Whether or not people realize it, we are more interconnected then we thought. The common ground of spirituality and the understanding of a higher power behind the works of everything we appreciate homogenizes the locale and behavior of a community. In other words, group bonding time.Those of true faith, retail this residual feeling throughout a week. Some like to think that we end the week with reflection and in celebration of this higher power. But like the "sober certainty of waking bliss", a Sunday, or any day for that matter, should start our week. When we fall a sleep and awaken the follow Monday, its the renewing of our minds and spirit that allow us to get through the rest of the week. Knowing the past has left us and we can't do anything about it.
