Getting Into A Fandom On A Friend's Recommendation Is One Thing, But Getting Into A YouTube Audio "asmr"

Getting into a fandom on a friend's recommendation is one thing, but getting into a YouTube audio "asmr" series which is part audiobook fanfiction and part original work based on a specific intro to a show which created an entire spinoff au for the fandom to run wild with on a friend's recommendation, is another thing altogether.

I mean considering I'm not big into the original show, this series kinda goes hard. Production quality is insane, and the voice acting is consistently on point (from my understanding it's one VA doing every single character, with the occasional cameo of another person for more feminine characters). The immersion is fully there, with how thought-out the scripts are and everything. The lore? Consistent and clever. There's just enough classical fantasy tropes to fulfill my dnd brain, and plenty of original lore for me to theorize over.

Point being, I think I'm brainrotting over this more than my friend at this point (she listens for the self-insert aspects) and it's an issue.

Toji with long furby was legit a fever dream I had ages ago and I honestly think seeing this art was a sign. No clue what that sign means but it sure as heck is one

I hate "content" culture.

I hate "consuming content" and scrolling immediately to the next thing.

People used to be excited about the art that other people created.

People used to want to share that excitement with creators.

I hate this future.

i don't know man, i just wish that we could [suddenly realising i'm coming dangerously close to expressing a real and earnest thought instead of filtering everything through several layers of intangible running bits] blow up the entire world. or something.
