"Hey, your forms wrong... again. " Tengen commented as he sat on the engawa eating sweet potatoes that Rengoku brought over for you.
key words: For You.
"Show me then instead of being an asshole and watching. Your supposed to be teaching me aren't you?" You sassed back, dropping your sword to take a break. Looking over to him you take notice of what he's eating.
"HEY THOSE ARE MINE." You took off in a sprint to get to him.
Tengen ran into the house with you hot on his tail.
Makio stopped the both of you and scolded you like children and when she was done she made you both face the wall and sitting in the corner.
This happened often before tengen retired and you took his place.
The first mission you went on you encountered and lower moon and gained your mark. (let's say muzan didn't kill them after Rui died)
Tengen was devastated, he practically forced you to retire
So we're Hina, Suma and Makio
You were 20
They made sure your last 5 years were the best of your life
When you turned 24 Suma cried a lot, Makio fussed less and Hina... Was Hina
Tengen talked to you for as long as he could everyday
The wanted you to know that you were loved up until you final moments
The day on your 25th birthday you woke up to the 4 of them surrounding you, each with smiles on their faces.
"Happy birthday" they said in unison.
'Ok not creepy at all' you thought to yourself as you try and sit up but your body felt heavier than usual. Must be the effects of the mark.
Makio and Suma are closest to you and held you up.
"Thank you. So what's on today's agenda?"
"Nothing much seems like your not up to it anyway." Tengen could hear the way your bones ached as you moved.
The day moved by quickly, too quickly for Tengens liking.
You ate, you laughed, you cried and now it was time to go to sleep.
Walking to your room you knew you were walking to your death bed. It felt weird but with the Uzui family behind you it felt comforting.
They tuck you in to bed and just as you were about to say goodnight Suma jumped on you.
"I-i don't want you to go to sleep Y/n. Stay awake please." She pleaded into your chest.
Makio was second. She couldn't even say anything, she was crying to hard.
Hina and Tengen tried to stand firm but broke at the sight of you crying and hugging them as well.
They couldn't bare to say goodbye that night and instead got their futons to sleep in the same room.
Tengen heard your heart stop.
Alt End
The say if your 25th birthday Tengen noticed you weren't up for breakfast and went to check on you.
*knock knock*
"Y/n.... You up?" He opened the door to see you peacefully sleeping on your side with 4 notes in your hand close to your face, each dressed to the members of the house.
Tengen slowly walked to your bedside and placed a hand on your head. You were cold.
"Y/n" Tengen called in disbelief. "I thought we had 1 more day" He said barely above a whisper.
He stood there until his wife's called for him.
It's a bad a for rain.

stardance - prince!sae x knight!reader
a fic for a trade with the lovely @saenora <33
cw: 2.5k words, gn!reader, hurt comfort, sae is pretty rude (to reader), mild descriptions of violence, there's a failed assassination but no blood or serious injury

When the palace walls and kingâs carriages proved at last too confining for the eldest prince of the Itoshi family, Sae was assigned a knight of his own. A soldier to fend off the creatures of the forests; to discourage burglars with a glare and blade; to guard a door in a palace so thoroughly guarded that at times even visitors struggled to enter. In his mind, his guard was an excessive layer of protection for an already coddled son, another attempt to shelter him from the kingdom he would one day come to rule.
But mostly, his guard was a nuisance.Â
âWith all due respect, your highness, just how long do you plan to look through these historical tomes that - if I may remind you - your fatherâs library already has.â
At the mere sound of your voice, he stopped flipping through the large volume in front of him. It wasnât the one he wanted anyways, and neither were the twenty others the bookshop owner had presented him with. An honor to help the prince with his studies? Hah. If only the fools had what I needed. With a frustrated sigh, he motioned to leave in search of yet another shop.
âIâll look until one of these shops has what I need.â He hardly looked back as he began making his way to the next bookstore. Technically, he was supposed to let you walk in front, parting the crowds around their crown, but in the near-empty twilight streets, he set a pace brisk enough to discourage anyone wishing to follow him, his guard included. For a moment, as the stars began to rise, he could forget.
Though peace of mind could never never last long. âYour Highness, itâs too late for you to be out. You know as well as I do that your father doesnât like you being out in the city late, especially not on some wild goose chase for a history book that might not even exist.â
Sae knew that he should be returning to the palace. But in those grand halls, he couldnât forget, not even for a moment. It was always someone or someone else pestering about something he couldnât bring himself to care about. Courtship. Parties. Foreign gossip. Meaningless awards. Petty disputes between lords. His brother. His blasted annoying guard.
âReally, your highness, what even is it that youâre looking for?â You continued, beginning to get impatient. âPrimary sources from the Cretaceous period? Because, I hate to break it to you, but crabs canât write.âÂ
Against his better judgment, Sae nearly chuckled at that remark. Nearly.Â

At this point, you didnât know if Sae genuinely hated you or if his tendency towards bitter words was an overdramatized facade. Though whichever it was, it was slowly slipping further toward loathing as you urged him out of the library. It was a war of his stubbornness against your orders, and though the kingâs own word should always win, it never seemed to.
Worn down by tiredness and the convoluted organization of his fatherâs library, Sae snapped. Once more you tried to convince him to leave and he turned sharply to face you, eyes darkened. Whatever curious stars had once been behind them had died out, leaving only the aquamarine void.
âJust leave me.âÂ
So this is how heâs playing this. You pulled out his chair, a not-so-subtle sign that it was time to leave, regardless of what he thought. âYour Highness, Iâm strictly forbidden from leaving you. Iâll escort you to your room now.â
âIâll get to my room on my own,â He muttered, waving you off, âOne of the sentries can take me if they see me.â
âSae. Youâve had a long night, itâs time for you to sleep. You can find your books on a clear head in the morning.â There was a certain firmness in your voice this time - you werenât about to let him ignore you, regardless of the fact that he was above you in rank and had no obligation to listen to you.
âDonât call me that.âÂ
âWhat, your name? I donât answer to you, Iâll call you whatever I like.â
âI outrank you, remember. I donât care if my father ordered you to make me rest, you answer to me, not him.â He refused to turn to you, gripping white-knuckled on the arms of his chair. If he squeezed them any harder, they might break. A normal soldier would stop provoking him now - you should stop provoking him now - but there was no point in shoving the frustration down any further. Sae was insolent, stubborn, lived on his own time, and wouldnât take care of himself. But you would protect him. You swore so on your life and honor. Â
âTheyâre not his orders.â
âThen whose are they?â He seethed, turning to look you in the eyes. Though he couldnât see your face in the dim light, Sae was sure you were grinning smugly, taking some sick satisfaction in watching him snap.Â
âMine.â You stated plainly.
âBlasted nuisance,â Sae huffed, âYou have no authority to give yourself orders. Leave.â
Suddenly he found himself being pulled by the arm, yanked up and out of his chair by a uniformed hand. Electricity prickled down his spine as he was forced to his feet. âI have plenty of authority to care about you and want you to take care of yourself because I know you wouldnât otherwise. With that said, I will be escorting you to your room.â
Without sparing even a moment, you began pulling Sae toward the door. Your grip was far from rough - he could escape easily if he felt like it - but he saw no reason to struggle. He had hardly noticed the fatigue seeping into his body, sapping his strength as the night grew late.

Saeâs knight was an inevitability. A constant. Guaranteed to be somewhere in the vicinity, be it hovering at his shoulder or stationed at a doorway just out of sight. Even as he reclined in his barely lit sitting room, there was no mistaking the uniformed figure lurking in the shadows near the tightly bolted door.
âArenât I safe enough in here? You can leave,â He waved you off halfheartedly, âGet some of that sleep youâve been hounding me incessantly about.â
Your laugh floated over from the dark corner. At least someone had the energy for humor at this hour. âBelieve me, if I werenât under direct orders to stay here until Kento comes to replace me, Iâd be comfortably cuddled up in my bed. Like you should be right now.â
With a sigh, Sae stood from his reading chair and made his way to his bed. He was hardly tired, but pretending to sleep would at least give you peace of mind. The last thing he needed was yet another person overly concerned about his safety, especially not one who was only concerned because it was their job.
Or was it?Â
I have plenty of authority to care about you.Â
Your words echoed in his mind. That hadnât been on his fatherâs orders â none of the insistence that Sae cared for himself had been. It was, startlingly, the first time that concern for his safety had extended past duels and burglars and-
âASSASSIN!!!â
Sae turned his head sharply, watching as a badly illuminated figure entered his room from the moonlit balcony, empty glass bottle in hand. His heart stopped in his chest. His feet wouldnât move. He urged himself to run, to make his way to safety, to make his way toward you. The most he could do was turn and watch you as you charged.
The assassin stepped up behind him. The bottle came crashing down.
The last thing he registered was you running toward him, sword drawn, radiant like starlight incarnate.

âGood morning, your highness. Howâd you sleep?â
Of course, the first thing Sae would hear after coming to consciousness would be his knightâs voice. Classic.
âWhat⌠what happened?â At some point, heâd been moved from the floor to his bed, and the lack of light from outdoors meant it was still night. The only people in the room, as far as he could tell, were him and the knight.
The knight chuckled. Someone ought to teach them that assassination is not a laughing matter.
âWell, some fool managed to climb up your balcony and hit you over the head with an empty liquor bottle. He got you pretty good, but at least you didnât get cut by the glass shards. The doc said youâll be fine in a day or two.â Somewhere across the room, your uniform rustled as you stood to leave, satisfied to know that Sae was alright. âWell, Iâll be going now. Kento, Miroku, and Tatsuki are outside if you need anything, but Iâll hopefully be back before you wake up. Get some sleep, youâll need it.â
As Sae watched you retreat, he felt the sudden urge to reach out toward you; to thank you for saving his life yet again; to savor your company just a little longer. All that escaped his lips was a croaked, âDonât-â
âHuh?â You turned, âDonât what? Youâve gotta be specific if youâre giving me orders.â
Struggling for words, Sae sputtered, not entirely sure what he wanted. Donât hate me? Donât abandon me? Donât resign from your post and never return? âLeave.â
You sighed, turning back again. âBeing evasive, I see. Good to know youâre back to normal. Goodnight, your highness.â
âWait- No- Donât leave. Stay. Please.â Sae didnât realize, but he was reaching toward you with his hand as if trying to pull you back toward him. But of course, you were across the room, and his fingers couldnât find purchase.
âYour Highness, youâll be perfectly safe, I promise. There are two guards outside and one on the balcony⌠I can tell Kento to come inside if that would make you feel safer.â It pained Sae how you didnât look him in the eyes as you spoke â you hardly turned to face him. But that was about the treatment he deserved, considering how he had treated you, pushing you away and still expecting you to save his life.
âItâs not- Stay, Y/n, please. I- Itâs nice. Having you around.â He begged, voice breaking. He cursed himself for sounding so foolish, so unnecessarily vulnerable. You were his guard, nothing more.
Oh, how he wished it was more.
âOh. I guess⌠I guess I could stay,â You murmur, striding back toward him, âFor what itâs worth, youâre not half-bad of a guy to guard. Following you around all day is pretty fun⌠even when youâre mad at me.â
Sae groaned, wanting nothing more than to hide under his bedsheets. Half the time when he snapped at you it was just to provoke a clever quip or witty insult from you who never seemed to care, and the other half the time, when he stepped too far, his stubbornness left the apologies aching in his chest.
âIâm not mad. Not usually,â He muttered, not entirely sure if you could hear or not. Sae assumed not, from the way you settled into one of his sitting chairs, leaning your sword belt against the arm.Â
No, donât sit there- The words were on the tip of his tongue, but you spoke first.
âIâll sit here as long as you want, but you should get to sleep. Let me know if you need anything, alright? Iâll do my best to not doze off.â
âThere is one thing,â Sae said, internally shuddering at how foolish his request seemed. But it was you, and you wouldnât make fun of it⌠right?
You chuckled. âSpit it out before I fall asleep. This chair is ridiculously comfortable.â
âCome sleep with me. Propriety be damned.â
You looked at him incredulously, not believing the words that exited his mouth. A sentence you had long given up on hearing. But the response that forms bypasses that yearning entirely.
âAww, does His Royal Grumpiness get cuddly when heâs concussed?â
He sighed and scowled â though the snarky reply made his heart skip a beat. âShut it, Y/n. Iâm serious. Iâd like to be close to you.â
âAs you wish, Sae,â You smiled, taking off your uniform coat and discarding it on the same chair that your sword leaned against. Sae watched you intensely as you removed your shoes and climbed into the soft, powder blue sheets. Heâs quick to wrap his arms around you, drinking in the warmth of your skin.Â
If only for a night, you could be his. You were his. And he was yours. By the witness of the stars. His troubled soul was held in the comfort of another, melting into the tenderness of an embrace outside of the reach of prying eyes. For the first time in far too long, the tension left the princeâs muscles, eased out by the soft breathing of his knight, his friend, his beloved.
In the silent depths of night, sweet words were whispered in dulcet tones.Â
âI love you.â

Bonus: Two Weeks Later
Exactly two weeks after the ridiculous attempt on Prince Saeâs life, Aiku â Captain of the Kingâs Guard and your somewhat-direct superior â summoned you into his office.
Not pleased to be away from your job for too long, you intended to make this quick.
âLet me guess, you need help training new recruits? Because if thatâs what you want, I canât do it. Iâm with Sae full time now,â You said, standing in the doorway. Aiku looked at you from where he leaned against his desk, letting out a soft chuckle.
âFamiliar with His Royal Highness, are you?â The Captain asked, smirking, âWell, therein lies the problem.âÂ
You furrowed your brow, not entirely understanding what he meant. âAnd how is that an issue? Youâre plenty familiar with His Majesty the King, why should I not be the same with the man I guard?â
âItâs not quite the same. Rumors are spreading, you know, and if things continue like this then you might be reassigned.âÂ
âReally? Why? I keep Sae perfectly safe, no?â Captain Aiku stepped toward you, straightened posture making him seem unnervingly tall. He lowered his voice, as if worried someone would overhear. âListen, Y/n. Let me put it this way: If the king catches you and his son making bedroom eyes at each other one more time he will replace you. The rest of us on the guard donât exactly appreciate it either.â
Suddenly a gentle wrapped around your waist, the newcomerâs chest pressed comfortingly against your back. You didnât have to turn around to know that Sae had come to intervene, tugging you gently away from the Captain.
âSorry to interrupt, Captain, but I will look at my knight however I please. If my father chooses to reassign Y/n, I will deal with him myself.â

⢠fake it âtil we make it

pairing: yoichi isagi x gn!reader
summary: your failed confession somehow leads to you fake dating your classmate, yoichi isagi. pre-blue lock
word count: 3.3K
notes from lee: for misha & tired bc i saw them live-blogging abt their bllk manga reading. also i feel so bad for rin, bc i claim heâs my #1 but i write a drabble and fic about his 2 enemies (sae and isagi), heâs gonna make me #3 enemy fr

You were so sure that he would have accepted your feelings. Your body is hot with embarrassment and the gaze of everyone in the hallway. You feel absolutely idiotic right now, bent over holding out a confession letter even after heâs left.
You stand up despite wanting to curl into a ball on the floor and reflexively brush yourself off. Youâre in shock and know you canât cry, not in front of all these people. But the whispers from those who had witnessed your failed confession reach your ears, and you think maybe you will cry in front of them.
You turn to leave, the bell will ring soon, but someone is calling your name loud enough for the hallway to turn their heads. âHey! (Y/n)!â Heâs out of breath and heaving, having run through the crowded hallway to reach you. The ravenette grasps your hands and declares loudly, âI love you! Please go out with me!â
You look down at your hands enveloped in his and then up to his expectant stare with wide eyes. You recognize him. Heâs in your class, Yoichi Isagi. Was he really interested in you? He whispers to you, âIâm trying to help you out. Just say yes.â
With a gasp, you seem to put the puzzle pieces together. Isagi is helping you save face. You smile, albeit warily, and respond, âThank you, Isagi. Iâm really flattered that you made such a declaration. I canât say I return your sentiments, but Iâm willing to try.â
He beams, glad that you took his help. âAfter class, Iâll take you to my favorite place, so please wait for me!â He replies loudly, so everyone can hear once again. Youâre still shocked and confused but nod fervently to play along in his scheme.
Isagi walks you to your shared class and pulls out your chair at your desk for you. He tilts his head and gives you a close-eyed smile before he heads to his seat behind yours. As soon as heâs seated, you have people swarming your desk, all asking about your very eventful morning. The bell rings and silences their questions. You give them a brief smile and a helpless shrug as the teacher walks in.

Lunch doesnât come soon enough. Your classmates are starting to crowd your desk again. Isagi pushes through all of them, grabs your hand, and rushes out of the room with you in tow. You glance back to the door and see your classmates poking their heads out of the doorframe in an attempt to see where Isagi is taking you. He leads you to a staircase at the backside of the building, where only a few people are around.
He lets go of your hand and apologizes, âIâm so sorry. I grabbed your hand without thinking, but you looked uncomfortable earlier. Everyone asked about your morning, and they were going to just now, so I figured this would be betterâŚâ The soccer player looks away and blushes while reaching to scratch at his neck nervously.
You bite back a smile at how awkwardly adorable he is. âNo, I appreciate it, and this morning too. Itâs far less embarrassing since you âconfessedâ to me,â doing the air quote gesture as you say confess. You donât pay attention as Isagi turns away with a hand to his face to hide his growing blush. His confession may have been sudden, but it was undoubtedly genuine, not that you ever needed to know.
âNow Iâm a little bit less of a loser,â you laugh at yourself before continuing, âYou really donât need to follow through with fake dating me. We can pretend to go on one date and then break up publicly.â
Oh. While Yoichi understood, he wanted to fake date you for just a little while. It would be the closest he would get to actually dating you. âIt might be a little unrealistic if we break up so soon. After declaring my love for you, maybe 2 weeks is good? Plus, it will make that loser you confessed to look stupid for turning you down.â He canât look at you in case you refuse his proposal. So he stabs the rolled omelets packed in his lunch.
âIf you donât mind, then Iâm okay with that. I just donât want to be a bother. I know the soccer team has some important games coming up.â You pick at your own lunch, now somehow nervous about him rejecting you after he had been the one to bring it up.
He wants to shout, you would never be a bother. But he composes himself, though hardly. âYou should come to the games and practice. I think it would make it really seem like weâre dating.â Upon saying that, he realizes the many other things heâd like to do with you under the guise of dating. He stares blankly at his food as he imagines walking you home while he holds your hand.
You clap your hands, âWe have to exchange numbers! Do you have your phone on you?â Isagi shakes his head. He had left his phone beyond to prioritize you and his lunch. You pull out your phone and open it to the contact before handing it over to him. âIâll text you, so make sure you save my number.â
He enters his number and name before saving it. He hands it back, but he notices your frown. âDid I do something wrong?â
âI donât think my boyfriendâs contact name should be just his name. Let me rename it.â Youâre too focused to notice how he flushes at you calling him boyfriend. Yoichi waits as you tap your phone and then shove it in his face to show him. Youâve saved his name as âYoi <3â, and he can see the text youâve sent, âhi darling, itâs (y/n)! make sure you save my numberâ. Heâs starting to wonder if youâre deliberately trying to kill him by being adorable.
âItâs almost time to go back, right?â Isagi asks you and stands before offering you a hand to get up. He smiles brightly down at you, and the thought crosses your mind that maybe you wonât mind fake dating him.

Itâs been maybe two weeks since you started âdatingâ Yoichi, and you can say that itâs actually pretty fun. You wait for him after your club is done, or heâll wait for you when he finishes early; his teammates tease him either way. He walks you to the train station and texts you for homework between the jokes he sends.
Today Isagi has another soccer game that places the team closer to Nationals. Even though he was the one that mentioned that you should come at the beginning of the fake dating, he always tells you that you can go home on the days that he has games.
But over the two weeks of watching his practice and the occasional game, youâve come to like watching his games. You know nothing about soccer, but he answers your questions, taking time to explain everything and anything you want to know.
You donât shout for him like the first time you came to one of his games (he ran head-on into one of his teammates and got subbed out soon after), and instead, just watch from the cold metal bleachers. Even during the halftime break, you let Yoichi be so he can focus on winning the game. You know he wants to take the team to Nationals. Itâs been a frequent topic of discussion over text and after games when he walks you to the station, so you know just how important every game leading up to it is.
You wait for another 45 minutes as the second half plays out. The score has been tied and stays that way for most of the remaining half. You recognize the different strategies Isagi had pointed out during his practice, the triangle formation as he passes to his teammates and makes a run towards the goal. Seeing the ball rolls into the 18-yard box, you move to the edge of your seat. Itâs the most promising chance youâve seen during this second half as Isagiâs teammate notices the run Yoichi made and passes. Almost effortlessly, heâs able to score. The opposing goalkeeperâs vision is blocked by his defenders allowing Yoichi to shoot the ball right into the top corner.
You cheer, and immediately Yoichiâs head whips around to find you. He smiles and waves with both hands over his head before his teammates clamor around him. The team celebrates the goal and resets to fend off the opposing team as the clock ticks down. Youâre not overly anxious about the game itself, but youâre itching for it to end so you can go down and congratulate Yoichi on his game-winning goal.
The referee signals the additional time in the match, and you make your way down the bleachers to reach Yoichi as soon as the game is called. The final whistle blows, and your schoolâs team rushes the field to celebrate being a win closer to Nationals.
You wait on the sideline for him, not in any hurry to break him away from the team. But he finds you, well, heâs been pushed over by his teammates. Heâs sweaty, flushed, and heaving, but still, he has the energy to smile widely at you.
You mirror his smile, aware of the many eyes on you. âI think youâre teaching has been paying off because I can tell you did really good! Congrats on the goal too.â
His teammates âoohâ at your words and make kissy sounds around you. Soon Yoichi is being pushed again so that heâs mere inches away from you as the surrounding members of the soccer team start to chant âkissâ. Yoichi tries to tell them off, making excuses that heâs sweaty and it would make for a bad first kiss between you two. The team is relentless though, and the few inches that had been granted before are taken away.
Youâre pushed into him with no room to push away. Yoichiâs jersey is sticky with sweat, and his hair sticks to his forehead. He whispers a sorry before he places a hand on your face and kisses you.
His teammates go wild at the display of affection and finally break away to yell about Yoichi getting some. Little do they know there was no kiss.
Yoichi places his forehead on yours, noses almost touching, and sighs like he actually did kiss you. He moves the thumb that impeded your kiss to where his other fingers rest on your face. He whispers, âSorry. I have to go, but wait for me, and Iâll walk you to the station.â He backs away and goes toward the bench to listen to his coach.
You stand, flustered, as you bring your hand to where Yoichiâs hand has been and feel how hot your cheeks are. But more than anything, youâre wishing he hadnât put his thumb on your lips.

True to his word, Yoichi walks you to the train station like he always does. He carries your bag and offers up his warm-up jacket since itâs dark, ever the gentleman. Itâs a bit awkward on the walk to the station, neither of you wants to address the almost-kiss that happened.
But that doesnât matter when you reach the train station. âI think we should âbreak upâ.â He does air quotes around break up, much like you had when talking about his confession. âItâs been 2 weeks now. I think everyoneâs forgotten what happened.â
Oh. This is why he didnât kiss you.
You feel your stomach sink, but if this is what he wanted then youâd do it. âOh! I didnât realize itâd been 2 weeks already. If thatâs what you want then sure we can end our pretend relationship.â
He doesnât say anything, but hands you your bag. Before you grab it, you move to take off his jacket. âYou can just give it to me tomorrow.â You stare at him, but he canât meet your gaze. He stretches his arm further so you can take your bag, clearly, he wants to leave.
âOk.â You take your bag and as soon as he can feel that you have it, he turns and leaves. Your relationship was fake, so why did it hurt so bad when he asked to break up?

You go home, in his jacket, and wait for a text that never comes. Normally, Yoichi texts to make sure youâve made it home but the screen doesnât light up no matter how much you stare at it.
Yoichiâs jacket is draped over your desk chair, the sight of it makes you frown. There are lots of questions you have about what happened and why it happened the way it did, but it wasnât real which somehow makes it so much worse.
You throw the jacket in the wash, so you can return it tomorrow. You check your phone again, but of course, thereâs nothing.
Similarly, Yoichi stares at his phone, thumb hovering over the send button. The text he wants to send is a normal one, something he wouldnât hesitate to send just yesterday.
The worst thing he thinks about him breaking up with you was the time and space you once occupied in the name of keeping up appearances would be void. Just a few hours later and heâs already missing you.
But Yoichi knew that continuing to fake date you was selfish of him. Heâs not selfish, even on the field, but he wants to be. But he doesnât want to keep you from pursuing someone you genuinely liked, thatâs not fair. (Even though he hopes it would be him.)
Though the way you seemed surprised when he told you it had been two weeks, the way you had said âif thatâs what you wantâ, even hesitating just slightly to take your bag from him, it meant something, right?
He groans and tosses his phone aside, trying to distract himself from overthinking the situation. He did not need to give himself false hopes and delusions that you were upset over this like he was.

Itâs the first time in two weeks that nobody greets you at the front gate. Yoichi is usually at the school early for morning practice and even when the team doesnât he still arrives early to walk you to the shoe locker.
Heâs not in his seat when you enter, so you leave a plastic bag with his folded jacket inside on top of his desk. He comes in unusually late, apologizing to the teacher several times and explaining there had been morning practice.
Some small optimistic part of you wants to think that maybe he would have walked you to the shoe locker had his practice not run late, but realistically you know heâs probably ready to run away like he had at the train station yesterday.
You put your head down on the desk and donât pay attention to the lecturing of the teacher.

You thought that habits took 30 days to form, so why did 2 stupid weeks affect you this much? Itâs been 3 days of school now and you find yourself at every turn looking for Isagi.
When it's time for lunch you instinctively look back to find him so you can have lunch together, but heâs already out the door. You try to suppress the automatic urge you have to find Isagi any time thereâs a second of free time in your schedule. But still, you somehow find yourself at the metal bleachers of the soccer field once again.
Once you fully register the automatic decisions your body has made you try to leave. It was awkward enough that Isagi made it a fairly obvious point to avoid you. The metal creaks every time you move, but you try moving slowly to avoid detection.
Luck is not on your side as their coach calls for a water break and the whole team turns to face the bleacher you are currently trying to leave. They all recognize you, after your âkissâ theyâd be stupid not to, and so they shout their greetings and call out Isagi for making you wait through the practice.
You sit back down and wave, thereâs no way you can leave now. And you donât want to cause Isagi trouble by having his teammates grill him on a nonexistent relationship. So you wait.
The sun begins to set and practice ends. You wait for Yoichi, so things donât seem amiss to his teammates. He walks with you wordlessly to the train station like itâs a habit for him too. And you end up at the same spot you did just 4 days ago when he decided to âbreak upâ with you.
You want to apologize for making him walk you to the station, but the way he looks in the blazing orange light seems to make your mouth say all the words your mind is thinking. âI miss you. I miss your texts and greeting you in the morning. I miss eating lunch together. I miss being your friend.â As soon as you say it, you know friend is not the right word, but what is?
âIâm sorry, (Y/n), but I canât be friends with you.â He leaves the âI want to be so much moreâ unsaid.
You immediately jump to question him, âWhy? Do you not feel this gaping hole of emptiness too?â
âWhat?â His eyebrows furrow in either shock or confusion, he certainly couldnât say.
âIâm constantly feeling like I need you by my side. I look for you every single moment of spare time. I want to be close to you, I want to see you, I want to read your texts, and send you homework answers. I want you, Yoichi.â You take a staggered breath in and your heart beats loud in your ears. Oh, you know what word to use now. âYoichi, I want you to be my boyfriend, for real this time.â
He stays silent longer than you would like, but you stay hopeful. Looking back at your fake relationship there was no way he didnât reciprocate. All the things he had suggested in the name of appearances was proof enough for you.
âReally?â Is the only thing he asks. You nod vigorously now that youâve figured out your feelings. A smile starts to make its way into his face, but he brings up a hand to cover it along with the growing blush. He squats and pumps his fist as he shouts, âYes!â
Youâre a bit shocked at his sudden reaction, but happy heâs reacting in such a positive manner. He stands back up again and places his hand on your shoulders. âDo you know how long Iâve liked you? I mean, god, (Y/n), this is-â He canât even finish his sentence because heâs laughing and resting his head on your shoulder.
You brush your hand over the back of his head, smoothing over the hair. He holds onto the hand as his head snaps up. He looks at you with a soft expression, one youâre sure he did while you fake dated.
âCan I kiss you?â He gives you a lopsided smile before adding, âFor real this time.â No doubt teasing you for earlier.
You roll your eyes and grab the collar of his jacket, pulling him close for you to whisper on his lips, âKiss me.â And he does.
The next day he walks into school with your hand in his.
Hi, just wanted to send this in! Headcanons for two characters of your choosing plus Chrollo about their reactions after their s/oâs death? Maybe like the grieving process. Bonus points if their death was caused in/directly by them đ angst angst angst
Hi, thank you for the ask! Ooh this is quite sad, I think I have two others that might be interesting to write for here
Chrollo, Feitan, Kurapika reactions to their s/o's death (inadvertently caused by them)
Chrollo
He had pushed you too far this time, telling you to go on the mission by yourself since you kept insisting you could do it. How foolish of him to let you go without thinking a certain chain user might be in the way. You hadn't returned after many hours. The mission shouldn't have taken that long, and the rest of the troupe was also agitated
The search started as soon as the sun began to rise. The troupe members scattered throughout the city to see if you were accidentally sleeping somewhere and forgot to come back. However, Chrollo stumbled upon your lifeless body in a rubbish dump. How fitting, you were from Meteor City, a junkyard.
"Y/n, are you sleeping?" He laughed, but as he kept calling out, you weren't responding. Touching your face, he felt his heart stop. You were cold. "Y/n," he breathed out. The sun's rays caress your face as if you were reached by the heavens. But this moment was nothing peaceful inside Chrollo's heart.
The troupe returned and saw Chrollo carrying you. The rest of them asked what had happened, he remained calm however. "We lost another it seems," he says quietly. Though he looks composed, the entire room fills with bloodlust that fades just as quickly as it came. He asks to be left alone and the rest of the spiders oblige.
Chrollo does not show his emotions to others, especially because as a leader he must be strong. But he breaks down, he had failed his role in keeping the spiders, no, you safe. Though revenge is something he wants, at the moment he wants nothing more than for you to hear his apologies of not keeping you safe
Feitan
He knew he was rough, that was why at first he didn't want to be in a relationship with anyone, especially someone outside of the troupe. You were just a regular person, you didn't know about anything related to the troupe nor nen, you were fragile. But maybe it was that fragility and that brightness that drew him to you.
This time however, you found out about his business with the troupe. You were upset at him hiding this fact from you, and this sparked a fight between the two of you. Feitan warned you to calm down, but it was really him that should have calmed down because the minute you threatened to let the officials know he quickly aimed his hand for your neck.
Had you been any other nen user or opponent he was used to, you would have survived and maybe had a sore throat for a few months. However, he punctured your neck, causing blood to spill and for you to splurt out a weak "Feitan" before slipping to your knees. Ater a split second he realized what he had just done.
"Y-y/n," it was the first time you had seen any emotion from him. It was fear. His eyes grew wide, he held you up, trying to keep you from falling. You tried tell him sorry, but blood kept spilling everywhere and your words were reduced to nonsense choking. Feitan kept telling you to shut up and that you had to stay alive.
It was an agonizing two minutes before you lost consciousness and eventually stopped breathing. Feitan stood up, not knowing what to do with your body. He was used to cleaning up corpses with what his job demanded, but this time he was lost. The next time the troupe saw him, he was a lot colder than usual. No one knew what had happened, other than that when Phinks asked where Feitan's lover was Feitan gave him a punch but his eyes held sadness more than anger
Kurapika
He shouldn't have prioritized his path of revenge over the lives of people he cared about. Sure, the Kurta seemed to call to him to avenge their deaths, but those that were living were also calling to him to not go down the path of destruction. He should've listened a little harder to those that were still with him in the physical world.
Being someone from Meteor City, someone that was close to the troupe didn't exactly translate to you being sympathetic to the spiders. But an argument got heated, and he lost control. You were trying to get him to stop his fight to hunt for the rest of the Kurta eyes and even the troupe but he thought you didn't understand his pain. Nen was involved soon enough.
Though you tried to fight him, he was skilled. Being Kurta made Kurapika much stronger too even in terms of sheer physical strength. He couldn't use Emperor Time on you, but that didn't stop him from using his chains in general. When you thought he was done with his chains, you rushed to restrain him from continuing his anger but he only grabbed for a nearby pen.
The anger blinded him from seeing what had just happened. The next thing he remembered after you told him that he should stop his revenge was that he had a pen in his hand that was stabbed into your chest. You were coughing violently, eyes wide and brimming with tears. You told him you were sorry and that you should've understood him better. Weakly, you reached up to his face, meeting his red eyes that soon faded back to brown. But you were too weak, your eyes closed and you slumped.
"No," Kurapika breathed out, "No no no no, y/n, y/n don't leave me," he shook you, holding you up and trying to get you to wake up. His actions took someone's life once again, another burden to shoulder. He knew his anger could be deadly, but never did he think it could kill you. How was he to forgive himself any longer when he was already feeling the anguish of his clan? Kurapika cried as he held you, repeating apologies and refusing to let go of you.
This is so bbg im so kilig rn
A Foreign Feeling Called âLoveâ
pairing: riddle rosehearts x male! reader
cws: homophobia, internalized homophobia
notes: iâm so sorry for disappearing from tumblr for two months i forgot my password. but hey masc presenting riddle stans, hereâs some crumbs for you. riddle-centric fic but (Y/N) is in it idk how to explain it. written in second pov in the beginning then third pov in the middle (reader uses he/him). i might make a part 2 where riddle confesses to the reader if anyone wants it
â
Riddle always thought he was straight. His mom had always said that she wanted her son to marry âthe perfect girlâ and would constantly bring this up. Heâs never had feelings for girls either, but he simply believed he was a late bloomer in romance. Oh that girl over there is cute? I mean she is, but heâd never imagine dating them.
Riddleâs lack of romantic interest had stayed with him up until he got accepted into NRC. During his first year, specifically the entrance ceremony, someone had caught his eye. That someone was you. Yes you, the person who nearly knocked over the dark mirror. Yes you, the person who dropped their magic pen and fell on top of Riddle. Yes you, the breath of fresh air Riddle needed. It was a funny story really.
â
Riddle had been paying no attention to the ceremony before your accident. You had just gotten sorted into Heartslabyul for whatever reason, and nearly knocked over the dark mirror after walking away.
You panicked and held the mirror in place afterwards. Riddle had a look of shock on his face. How could someone be so careless? How could someone be so clumsy? How could someone look so cute when flustered? Wait⌠cute?
Had something awakened in him? Riddle was twiddling with his thumbs trying to grasp on how he thought you could be- well- cute! And plus, you were a guy. Boys canât like boys, heâs always been taught this⌠Those thoughts clouded his mind, but were immediately interrupted with the feeling of falling down and a sudden thud.
On top of him was a red flustered face. Your lips were quivering with embarrassment while your hands were clammy. Your hands and legs trapped him beneath you, like a predator catching itâs prey. Riddle noticed all the details of your face in those 10 seconds.
Your beautiful eyes gave him all the attention he had ever wanted. Your lips were so kissable, he just wanted to comfort you and pepper you with kisses. Your cheeks were oh so red, and he had wanted to touch them and feel the intense heat.
He couldnât talk though, he was sure his face was more red than yours. Riddle felt his own heat that covered his cheeks. This feeling of embarrassment was different than before. This feeling of thinking, and now seeing this person was so new to him. Such a foreign feeling had a special place in his heart.
âIâm- Iâm so sorry! Please forgive me I tripped on my magic pen and didnât watch where I was going and I tripped and I really didnât mean to fall on you!â You had explained in a hurry.
You got off of him after you apologized, realizing the whispers amongst the crowd. The snickers you heard, the small teasing. They meant no harm really, they just found this hilarious. Truthfully this woke them up.
Riddle has gotten off of the floor and dusted off his robe. Cheeks still red, he looked at you with annoyance. Yes annoyance, this had to be the feeling he was feeling. Not love, right?
âPlease watch where youâre going next time, or else it will be off with your headâŚâ Riddle said while averting eye contact.
You apologized once more and were pulled away from him.
â(Y/N) (L/N), I would expect better from a new coming Night Raven College student!â Headmage Crowley had scolded.
(Y/N)⌠that was his name. Riddle would have to keep it engraved in his memory.
Since then, youâve always been on his mind. He had you in a few classes and would always get reminded of the time you were on top of him. That mental image of your flustered face never left his mind, no matter how much Riddle tried forgetting it.
And with being in the same dorm as you, he was bound to see you. Sometimes he would see you in the common room studying. Other times heâd see leaving for classes.
You always seemed uncomfortable around him though. That was partially his fault though, he made it seem like he hated you after that. Every time Riddle would walk towards your way, youâd always walk the other way or would be as still as a statue.
He never thought his first year experience would be like this. Riddle was worried that you hated him instead. His feelings for you were so fuzzy, he couldnât understand it. So he went to his best friend Trey Clover for some help. Surely heâd be of some use.
â
âYeah you like him.â
WHAT?! No, there was no way he would be in love with another boy. All his life heâs been taught that this is wrong, this is disgusting. Although heâs never felt love before, maybe he could try this. What no, what is he thinking?! Heâs gross, heâs disgusting, what would his mother think?
âIâm sure I do NOT like him, Trey.â
Trey simply rolled his eyes and sighed.
âThe way you explained it to me made it seem like you have a crush on them. I mean, no one explains the person they dislike as someone you want to âhug and comfort while wiping their tearsâ. Sounds like youâre in love.â
The hugging and comforting while wiping his tears part wasnât gay. He just wanted to comfort him whenever he was stuck on homework and looked like he was about to cry. Not gay.
âIâve- Iâve never felt love before. And either way, (Y/N) is a boy. I canât be in love with- with another boy!â
Riddle was fighting with himself inside. On one hand, he did enjoy (Y/N). He enjoyed seeing their behavior from the side, noticing all the small things he did like slightly tilting his head when he was confused. He also gripped his pencil harder when he had a hard time on homework. Oh and (Y/N) also covered his face whenever he was embarrassed and it would always be the cutest thing⌠but he wasnât interested in men.
âRiddle I know how your mother feels about same sex couples, but they arenât gross or disgusting, theyâre just themselves. Theyâre just like us, they just want to love the people they love normally without feeling shunned.â Trey explained while comforting Riddle.
Riddle never thought same sex couples were gross, he only thought of himself as gross if he were to ever like another boy. His mother would always express her potential hatred towards him if he were ever gay. He was just scared. Scared of disappointing his mother. Scared of being shunned from the world.
âI know- I know Trey. I just need time to think about this whole thing. Thank you.â Riddle said while leaving.
Trey simply waved, knowing Riddle would need some time alone.
â
Riddle entered his dorm room and flopped onto his bed. Love is so weird. Itâs so gross. Itâs an icky feeling, why would people like it so much?!
He grabbed a pillow and screamed into it. These emotions are so weird. They hurt his head too much, he just needs to focus on his studies. His mother would be disappointed, wouldnât she.
Riddle went back to seeing you at the entrance ceremony. You were something fresh, something new. You were yourself. Thatâs what he liked about you. Your quirks reflected your true self, one some people wouldnât know. On the surface you seemed air-headed and impulsive, but after taking one good look at you, you were far more than that.
Fuck maybe this was love. Riddle still feels gross about this. Defying what he was taught all of his life in a matter of a few months. It would take a lot of time and self-love to accept this, but Riddle didnât have the energy to do so. He had his mother he needed to make proud. So the best solution would be to push down these feelings.
â
A week passed after his talk with Trey. A full week of knowing he liked (Y/N). He couldnât take it, he couldnât take seeing you in the hall or in classes. It hurt his head, but more importantly it hurt his heart.
That all had changed after one fateful day. The day you had talked to him after alchemy class. Riddle was packing up his books and felt someone grab onto his wrist as he was leaving.
âR-Riddle RoseheartsâŚ! I um- I need to talk to you!â You stumbled out with the same flushed face that never left Riddleâs mind.
Why would (Y/N) want to talk? Didnât (Y/N) hate Riddle?
âW-What do you need (Y/N)?â Riddle asked, staring at (Y/N)âs hand, still grabbing onto Riddleâs wrist.
You sighed and covered your red face with your free hand.
âI want to be friends! Wait no I- I donât hate you I swear. I know you always look at me whenever weâre in the same room, I really hope you donât hate me or think Iâm annoying. And Iâm sorry if Iâve ever made it seem like you hate me. I just thought youâd never want to see me after the entrance ceremony, so I tried to distance myself from youâŚâ
Riddle had melted inside. You were so caring, so sweet. You didnât want to make him feel uncomfortable so you never talked to him.
It took Riddle a few seconds to think of an answer to you. From (Y/N)âs end, all they could see was the flushed shocked face of Riddle Rosehearts.
âI- Well I never hated you as well (Y/N). I just- just donât know how to respond to certain situations.â
Just like the entrance ceremony, he averted eye contact. (Y/N) smiled, and brung his other hand to clasp Riddleâs wrist.
âThen are we friends now?â (Y/N) asked excitedly.
Riddle couldnât say no to his adorable face.
âI suppose we are.â Riddle responded, still red.
Yup, Riddle was definitely in love.

A quick and short Golden Retriever Yanqing & Black Cat Reader dynamic (kinda)
Fluff, Jing Yuan is watching everything go down from behind the scenes, reader is a Lieutenant Cloud Knight with Yanqing and also his age

âUnspoken Ruleâ
Yanqing, the Cloud Knight Lieutenant and Jing Yuanâs right hand man. Yanqing, the short blonde boy who always keeps his locks in a neat ponytail. Yanqing, the energetic boy who always incorporates sword fighting in his daily schedule.
Yanqing, your boyfriend.
To every other Cloud Knight, you two were simply âbest friendsâ or âincredibly close colleagues under Jing Yuan.â Not even Jing Yuan, who trained you both for years, thought your closeness was questionable. But who could blame any of them? Yanqing made it clear on many occasions thatâŚ
âAny other interests outside of swordsmanship will only slow my swords down!â
It just so happened that everyone subconsciously categorized dating under âany other interests.â Since that point was made, no one held any suspicions towards your closeness together. Not to mention, your personalities completely contrasted each other.
âDid you hear? The Cloud Knight Lieutenants Yanqing and (Name) were spotted on a date together.â A young womanâs voice said.
âSeriously? They were probably just out for dinner, not a date. Donât you think theyâre both a little young for a relationship anyways?â
âMost people start dating around their age.â Another chimed in.
âYeah⌠but those two? Together? Seriously? I canât see Lieutenant Yanqing and (Name) with anyone romantically! The day Lieutenant Yanqing holds a romantic relationship will be the same day his swords can walk and talk. And Lieutenant (Name)âŚâ
The manâs voice grew quieter and quieter before going silent, worried whatâll happen if heâs caught speaking of you in any way that could be interpreted negatively.
âWell⌠theyâre not the most welcoming, and quite scary.â He finished with a gulp.
The Luofu wasnât the most populated, but it certainly wasnât empty. Gossip spread like wildfire, rumors even faster. Yet out of all rumors citizens chose to ignore or debunk, it was the relationship between the two young Cloud Knight Lieutenants.
Perhaps it was out of respect for the Lieutenants, the General, or both. Maybe even fear. But no matter the reason, it came to be an unspoken rule; donât make assumptions about the Lieutenantsâ relationship with one another, no matter how much you believe.
When you see them walking close together?
âOh (Name), letâs go check that place out! The sword on display looks like one of a kind.â Yanqing exclaimed, holding a hand on your shoulder while pointing towards said shop.
The closeness was more than enough to make you flustered, but you kept a straight face. The nod you gave was all Yanqing needed to take your hand in his. Walking hand in hand, on your way to witness the boy blow through his allowance.
He was oblivious to the stares around you two, or perhaps he didnât care. You however, didnât like the idea of Yanqing potentially being judged for his enthusiasm.
Anyone who was staring at the scene before were now awkwardly averting their gaze after a harsh glare from you. All while Yanqing hummed an upbeat tune to himself, spending every last credit he had.
When you see them walking close together? Look away, carry on with your day.
Itâs normal for friends to hold hands, walk close together, and glare at anyone who might be judging the other, right? The Lieutenants are friends, therefore itâs nothing out of the ordinary.
General Jing Yuan is no average citizen of the Luofu, so he considered himself an exception to the unspoken rule.
âMaybe there is romantic feelings or tension between those twoâŚâ he thought, watching as you attentively listened to the blondeâs ramble about his most recent sword.
But if you arenât an exception to this âunspoken ruleâ like the general, what do you do when you spot the two lieutenants acting fondly with each other in public?
The pair was off duty today. The general had acknowledged their hard work in recent weeks, and figured they deserved a day off. After all, they canât spend their entire youth on duty everyday.
Which is why you and Yanqing can be spotted leaning on a railing together, watching each cloud pass by.
The casual clothes threw most passers off, not recognizing either of you outside the Cloud Knight uniforms you wore. But to those who still managed to recognize you both, they were quite bewildered at the scene that played out in front of them.
You, lieutenant (Name), had your head resting on Yanqingâs shoulder. Not only that⌠for once, you werenât glaring. One would dare to say you had softened exterior.
Not to mention the stars in your eyes whenever you glanced over at Yanqing.
It didnât help that the blonde would frequently look down at you, almost as if he was checking on you. While no one could hear the words that left his mouth, you did. And apparently those words were enough to make you blush.
âPerhaps they just had a bad day, and he was cheering them upâ witnesses forced themselves to believe.
If you spot the two lieutenants acting fondly with one another, donât go jumping to conclusions. Maybe theyâre just helping each other out.
That same day, long after the sun had set, you and your boyfriend returned to your headquarters, hand in hand. For once, you werenât glaring at anyone staring.
Instead, you were blushing with a small smile on your face. Though the lieutenant next to you didnât bother hiding his joy. Contrasting you entirely, he was wearing a huge grin on his face with pride, along with light pink dusting his cheeks.
Surely this should have been enough for others to spread gossip, right?
âYou must have seen that too, right? They looked like a couple!â A certain general overheard. Usually he didnât care about the Lufouâs gossip and âlatest power couple.â But this time, his curiosity piqued.
âŚespecially after considering who this mysterious âcoupleâ could be.
âBut what if itâs not what it looked like? Maybe Lieutenant (Name) embarrassed themselves or something in front of Lieutenant Yanqing. That would explain the grin on his face.â One of the knights tried to reason, but doubt was laced in his tone.
Jing Yuan mentally facepalmed at the conversation. Could these knights not comprehend thinking critically wasnât disrespectful? Itâs become so obvious in recent days that thereâs something between you and Yanqing, especially to the general.
Now⌠after dismissing both lieutenants walking close together and acting fondly with one another, what else is there to dismiss?
Because how in the entire galaxy could you possibly dismiss the lieutenants kissing?
It was like any other day on the Luofu. Warm, a slight wind, and a peaceful atmosphere. At least, thatâs what anyone who wasnât in the Cloud Knight headquarters would think.
While yes, all this was true. It was warm, a tad bit windy, and peaceful. But all this was forgotten after a particular incident indoors.
As always, Yanqing could be spotted with his beloved swords, as well as you. No one could make out the words coming out of your mouths, but apparently the swordsman had made the greatest statement ever.
Your head snapped towards him, eyes widened in disbelief. âWhat did you just say?â
âOh come on (Name), you heard me the first time! But I guess I donât mind repeating itâŚâ the boy took a deep breath, before abruptly standing up.
â(Name)! I would trade my entire sword collection if it meant I could spend an eternity with you!â He declared rather loudly, earning enough head turns to make his face go red.
You couldnât believe it. Sure, you were his significant other, and he made it clear numerous times he loved you. But hearing that from Yanqing of all people? You were bewildered.
âOh come on, donât look at me like that! You know I mean it. Here, Iâll prove it.â He pulled you up off the floor, keeping his hand on yours even as you steadied yourself.
Before you could question him, he cupped your cheeks and placed a short yet loving kiss on your lips.
By this point, everyone stopped what they were doing to witness what was happening. After Yanqing pulled away, he didnât just leave you stunned. Oh no no no, he left you and all the Cloud Knights stunned.
No one needed to dismiss it this time, nor debunk rumors. This was all the confirmation anyone ever needed.
The Cloud Knight Lieutenants were, in fact, a couple.
-Bonus-
âWhat do you mean no one knew!?â You and Yanqing shouted in unison, staring at the general in pure shock.
âWell⌠I suppose the people just respect you two that much. No one wanted to make assumptions on your private lives, not to mention everyone was so sure Yanqing here wouldnât date anyone thatâs not a sword.â Jing Yuan explained.
Jing Yuan didnât want to admit he was among the group that didnât think the blonde lieutenant would date anyone outside a sword at some point. At least he realized at some point, right?
âAgh⌠thatâs so frustrating! We tried everything to make people realize. We thought they caught on when we were spotted on a date together!â Yanqing groaned out in annoyance, earning a soft pat on the back from you.
âWell what matters now is that everyone knows.â You stated bluntly, both Jing Yuan and Yanqing nodding their heads in agreement.
âI must admit, you have very contrasting personalities. So (Name), if Yanqing here ever gets on your nerves, let me know. Iâm sure heâll knock it off if I dared to tell you his childhood stories.â The general finished with a chuckle, eyeing Yanqingâs face twist in embarrassment.
âGeneral!â
