Prologue

“MMfgff!”

“P-Please, f-forgive us…”

“Aaahhh hmmm.”

A pink-haired man with scars on both sides of his mouth stands and twirls the gun around his finger like a toy. He continues to dance while mocking the three men who are tied up and beaten.

“BONTEN SHALL DELIVER ITS JUSTICE TO THE TRAITORS!”

The traitors sweat profusely as they feel the presence of the pink-haired maniac behind them. His insanity, bloodlust, and most of all, his kill intent is too strong for them to bear. Knowing that their lives are already at death’s door, the traitors could only cling to the smallest hope they have. As farfetched as that it, they know that their deeds would not be forgiven, especially by the white-haired man with an undercut silently eating a dorayaki as the scene unfolds behind him.

“Shush! The boss will speak” one of the traitors began to cry as he feels the executioner’s head beside his ear.

The three of them looked at their boss, well, ex-boss as he finishes eating the last piece of dorayaki. When the boss turns around, the traitors know that the hope they clung upon is no more.

“Kill them, Sanzu.”

The traitors aren’t able to react as Sanzu shoots them effortlessly. Proud of his work, Sanzu drags his finger on their blood and licks it. The taste of the traitors’ blood excites Sanzu more than anything. It sends him on frenzy, which irritates the Bonten’s number 3, Kakucho.

“Sanzu! Stop laughing and start cleaning up the mess!”

Sanzu stares and grins at him. Kakucho could only sigh at this predicament and starts to clean up some of the mess in the warehouse.

As for the white-haired man, also known as Bonten’s Number 1 and its leader who is known as “The Invincible Mikey.” His real name, Manjiro Sano, former head of Tokyo Manji Gang and now the leader of Japan’s number 1 crime syndicate, Bonten. As Kakucho and the others are cleaning up the mess, Sanzu approaches Mikey and gives him another pack of dorayaki.

“Here you go, Boss. I know you need it.” Sanzu says.

Mikey takes the food and starts munching again.

“Right after cleaning up, head back to the headquarters immediately.”

Bonten responds “YES, BOSS!” as Mikey stands up and leaves the warehouse.

As soon as Mikey leaves, Kokonoi, one of Bonten’s Executive, approaches Kakucho with curiosity.

“Kakucho, do you think the boss is alright?” worry is written all over Kokonoi’s face but Kakucho doesn’t have the answer to his question. For as long as they can remember, Mikey is not one to express his emotions freely. Ever since the betrayal of his former love and the death of his grandfather, his dark impulsivity engulfs his life much to Shinichiro’s (Mikey’s older brother) dismay. Shinichiro keeps on persuading him to stop what he is doing but Mikey could not control his dark impulse. That is why he separated himself away from him and their little sister, Emma.

“Well, Sanzu is the only person between us who had been with Mikey the longest. Knowing Sanzu, he probably wouldn’t tell us anything since his loyalty is as hard as a rock.” says Kakucho as he finishes with the clean up and continues “Just do your job and don’t cross the line.”

Kokonoi immediately understood his message and goes back to work.

Mikey sits on the pavement in the pier, quietly eating the dorayaki that Sanzu gave him.

“The wind is quite chilly today…” He quietly says as he eats the last piece. Mikey still ponders on how his life got to this point. The betrayal he got and the loss he received is not something he could overcome overnight. If he could, it would’ve been easier for him to live his life. That isn’t the case though. Every second of his life, he is tormented by those memories and it keeps replaying on his mind as if they happened just yesterday.

“Damn it! Why does it still hurt?!”

“UGH! GET OUT OF MY HEAD! GET AWAY FROM ME!”

Mikey keeps on screaming but what he doesn’t know is that someone, better yet, something is keeping a close eye on him. Waiting to strike at the right moment. As a matter of fact, it has been watching Mikey ever since he stepped out of the warehouse. Mikey, despite being an expert in fighting and ambushes, hasn’t notice the malice intent towards him.

But someone else does…

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

“HEHEHEHEHEHEHE! JUST. DIE. ALREADY!”

The creature is sliced into pieces and the same thing happened with the others. Holding the blade bathing in the blood of those monstrous creatures, a woman with hair shining bright like the moon and eyes that are red as blood unleashes one final swing while holding her bleeding waist.

“Shit! My vision is getting blurry now. I can’t afford to lose my conscious yet. Not when these freaks are still at large.”

As she is about to take a step forward, another creature sneaks up behind her but she is able to deflect its attack by killing it. Her wound is worsening with every move she makes.

“Those motherfuckers… I need to… wait… shit!”

She rushes towards the end of the pier as she notices there is still one more creature that she hasn’t slayed yet.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Mikey stands up to leave after releasing all of his remaining bottled up emotions, the creature lunges at him. Mikey is surprised but he is able to dodge its attack in time.

“What the hell?!” Mikey screams as the creature stands up and continues to attack him.

Mikey keeps dodging but he can feel that his energy is draining every time he dodges. The creatures keeps on attacking and is able to scratch Mikey on his left cheek. It is good thing that the creature isn’t laced with anything dangerous like poison or curses. But it has one advantage, much to Mikey’s dismay, the scratch is able to draw out the energy and stamina of those inflicted. Mikey loses his strength to fight and falls down on one knee. The creature takes this as an opportunity to attack but its body suddenly shatters into pieces.

When Mikey sees the creatures dissolve into dust, ‘What the…’ he thinks to himself but he notices a figure standing in front of him. He is about to launch an attack when he sees the condition of the person who saved him. His eyes widen at the sight of the white-haired woman who is about to collapse because of her injuries.

“Careful!” Mikey catches her in time and he sees how grave her injuries are.

“Shit! She’s bleeding too much!” He then proceeds to stop the bleeding by tying his shirt on it. He immediately grabs his phone to call Sanzu.

“Sanzu! Get a car to my location. NOW!” He abruptly ends the call and continues to tend to the woman on his lap.

‘Please… miss… you need to fight it until we get help, alright?”

Mikey notices the woman as she gains consciousness and struggles to speak to him.

“Who… are… you?” she asks.

Mikey doesn’t know if he would tell her his name but…

“My name is Manjiro Sano. You can call me Mikey.”

The woman stares at him. Even though her vision is blurry, she could still make his features, especially his striking white hair that reflects the moon’s radiant rays.

"Miss, can you talk?" Mikey asks to make sure she is still responding despite being conscious.

The woman shakes her head 'no' as she feels her throat is dry and coarse. Mikey figures that her throat must be damaged severely for her not being able to talk.

"Do you have any more injuries besides your left side?" Mikey asks again but the woman doesn't respond to him as she feels her consciousness is starting blur again.

Mikey noticing this, immediately cradles her body into a more comfortable position. Seeing that her eyes are closed, he checks her breathing as it is still ragged and uneven. He performs another first aid on her and soon, he hears car engines that surround him. One of the drivers that came out of the vehicle is Sanzu. Seeing his boss holding a woman so tenderly and carefully confuses him to certain extent yet he never questions his king's action.

They proceed to take the woman with them back to the hideout with Rindou driving the car while the rest prevent the woman from bleeding too much. The woman is leaning unto Mikey while Ran is trying to stitch the wound as safely as possible.

“Shit! Boss, the enemy is unto us!” Sanzu shouts as he readies his assault rifle.

Mikey looks back to see multiple cars chasing after them but to their surprise, many scarlet glows appear and slash the cars into pieces. Leaving no one alive.

“WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED?!” Sanzu shouts as he keeps his weapon under the seat.

“We’ll question about it later. Right now, we have to speed up to prevent those bastards from catching up.” Mikey warns them and Rindou speeds the vehicle.

Mikey looks at the woman with tenderness and worry and he thinks ‘Please stay alive, Miss.’
