Yknow what? Anger needs to be embraced in a healthy way. I never understood why people (especially parents) shame on their kids for having episodes of strong waves of anger. Screaming back at them never helps. Grounding them for showing emotion is not the answer. It will only push them to avoid you when it comes to needing someone to talk to. That's why so many kids/teen go down the wrong path, pass away from suicide, etc. Parents need to do and be better for their kids.
And don't even get me started on taking away their basic rights as a human being - like privacy. What kind of parent are you if you truly think taking away privacy is a valid and correct way to punish them? Lessons over punishments are better. The same applies for cleaning. If you treat chores like a punishment that won't help at all and I'll actually mess with their future when they gotta clean their home. The memories and energy parents tie to cleaning will linger and they won't have a healthy relationship with simple chores. Teach them it's good to clean, to have a safe and happy environment, teach them how refreshing it feels after it's all done and how the candle makes it perfect in the end.
Parents need to stop comparing trauma. It's fucked up. I don't care how bad the parent has had it, you should never water down your CHILDS struggle, big or small, all because you endured more and "turned out fine" .. cause like no you didn't lol
Kids need to feel safe in the arms of a parent/loved one who's taking care of them. Dont make them feel guilty or like a burden. They aren't needy, they are meant to be protected when around whoever takes care of them. So that whole "well that world isn't all sunshine and rainbows so I won't baby them" mindset is actually really fucking sad. They should be able to think of you and immediately run to you because of the comfort you provide, physically and/or emotionally. Parents/legal guardians need to do better... And stop making your oldest child become the parent. They didn't ask to be mom/dad, they never wanted to be an adult so early. Stop being a shitty parent and take some accountability. Admit to mistakes and APOLOGIZE to your kids when you were in the wrong.
Rant over. I apologize y'all. It's just something that's been on my mind for a while.
Honestly cute 😍
