Everyone always talks about how much they love the “morally grey” or sarcastic side character of a book until they actually meet a person with the same personality traits

Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

Anyway here's my opinion of the day:

If you only study witchcraft, you're not going to be the best witch you can be. If you're going to use herbs, study botany. If you're going to use meditation and mindfulness, study theraputic methods like DBT and CBT. If you're going to use astrology, study astronomy. If you're going to use cooking and baking and drinking, study gastronomy and mixology. If you're going to use crystals, study geology. If you're involving paganism that has its roots in a particular time and place, study their histories and cultures. If you're a technowitch, study computer science.

Science and magic aren't opposing one another, they work hand in hand. Only by truly understanding the world around you can you utilise it to the best of your abilities. There gets to a point where cutesy little affiliation lists and emoji spells on Tumblr isn't going to help you any more.

In today's society we put too much emphasises into fitting into very rigid boxes to blend in with the crowd that we lose our own sense of originality, and in the process, we put to the side the things that truly make our spirits come alive in favor of soul crushing expectations from others.

I feel like trying to emulate a very rigid archetype or aesthetic can be very detrimental to one's wellbeing if the characteristics associated with them don't truly resonated fully with ourselves.

In the process of developing my own branding and sense of personality, I often found myself limited by what I thought were the ways in which I had to conform to meet a certain ideal, especially with social media as a tool of mass compliance and herd behaviour, even in niche spaces.

Now I understand that I am a multifaceted individual who can express herself in a multitude of ways and even altergos depending on the scenario, people, and mood I'm in. I will be that well-read, poise, classy and sophisticated lady that will participate in ballet and the fine arts while at the same time be fierce, commanding and assertive HBIC who will handle business and take full ownership of my own assets. I can be quiet and reserved with an inexpressive demeanor in public, and at the same time let myself loose with the people and in the places my soul feel at most at peace with. There's not one single facet to who I am and I love that.

Personally, I think MBTI tests are useless because people change every day and no one’s personality consistently stays the same. Like, my personality changes strictly depending on the current situation or who I’m with. I’m a chameleon who wears multiple different masks. You don’t know me. I don’t know me. Everything changes so quickly that I don’t feel human. The way I act doesn’t feel real. It feels like I’m a zombie or even a robot controlled by the government. It feels so unnatural and strange, yet, somehow, at the same time it does feel natural. Because I’ve been playing this game for so long now that I can’t tell what’s real and what’s not anymore.
