warm lunch had been sitting on the other - side of the table in the barn for what must've been at least twenty minutes now . in typical kate fashion , it would likely grow cold while ink continued to cover her hands through smudged notes scribbled into journals looking over her research once , twice , three times --- as if it would run off the page if she hadn't kept her eyes on it . he catches her wholly off guard , words getting caught in her throat as he cuts her off mid sentence just as she was trying to explain that she's never met a man so reluctant make out with her as miles. and ripley's about to get offended at his protests when it happens. it takes her only a split second to realise whats going on and then her eyes flutter shut , kissing him back. every other thought , together with the reason they're doing this , quickly fading away as their kiss goes on. and on. the taste of his mouth on hers mixed with the drinks they'd just had hitting a little too right. and the way he's holding onto her hips , keeping her in place pressed to the wall makes her heart thump a little harder in her chest. she moves her hands to his face deepening the kiss a little more before finally pulling away from him. instantly regretting the loss of warmth from his lips. ‘ i ummm ⸻ i think he's gone ... ’ words leaving her kiss swollen lips in a breathless mess.

miles groaned to himself as she started on one of her rants. he honestly didn't understand what she saw in said guy, he was nothing but a dick and miles absolutely despised him. but she was right about one thing, he did love her. the taller male handed her a drink before he downed the one he'd poured for himself, walking out of the kitchen knowing that she'd follow behind him. "stop talking..." he stopped in the middle of the hallway as he saw her target coming in through the front door. miles grabbed her by the waist and gently pushed her up against the wall before he pressed his lips to hers just in time for the other male to pass by and see them.

brows furrow and eyes narrow into slits as grayson looks over at the brunette , sporting an unimpressed and frankly confused look on his face. ‘ yeah , i don't fucking think so , bells. ’ he laughs at the idea , shaking his head. ‘ she was fun the other night , but that's pretty much it. ’ tone almost offended she would even suggest such a thing.
