Nit me rereading Fourth Wong and Iron Flame and just... Violet and Liam's friendship is so special to me. The way they worked so hard to protect one another, how she had his back in front of her mother and the KING, how even in death he's still there, watching over her and helping her. The way Violet took her final promise so so seriously that Sloane could have tried to kill her and she'd still save her life a million times over. I like to imagine that Violet, and the rest of the Iron Squad tbh, keeps Liam's carvings in a special spot so they stay safe but always remembered.

I'm a sucker for super close platonic relationships and these two were just so perfect.

I feel like I just completly glossed over the fact that Imogen and Dain were second years in the same squad.

Which means they survived Rider’s Survival Course together.

The absolute insanity I’m descending into picturing Imogen and Dain at the same table sharing a secret, and then having to protect each other’s secrets while they get the shit beat out of them.

Imogen having to listen to Dain bond with the infantry about rules and order and respecting the rank while they wander lost through the woods, trying not to get torched by dragons.

And they had the full second year at Basgiath! Which meant they had the tourture chamber testing twice!

She went through all of that with him, and then was part of the squad that got sent to their deaths because of him. We really do not give her enough credit for not snapping his neck at the first oppurtunity in Iron Flame.

I was meant to draw Violet and Xaden but dragons are still my fav (I kind of feel 15 again with the dragon renaissance, anyone else?). So when I saw a baby tiger playing with its mum's tail, I just had to draw Tairn and Andarna like this.

You can't tell me it's not possible that she played like this when she was younger.

Obvious disclaimer that I'm still not a creature artist. I'm just having fun with this.

"You're Fen Riorson's son, you're in Cordyn for mysterious 'family business' and your friends are nowhere to be seen, yet you don't see me asking what you're really getting up to," she retorts. "Don't ask questions when I know you aren't willing to give answers either."

I'm so close now that I could touch her if I reached out. I could wipe away the spatter of blood - not hers - that made its way to her cheek, a bloom of crimson against her pale skin. Instead, I pick up the end of her braid which is draped over her shoulder, and run my fingers through the tail of it. I'm tempted to yank out the hair tie and let her hair fall loose. "How would you know? You never asked."

The two of us stare at each other amidst the bloodbath, two bodies drawn together as if by gravity. She feels inescapable; like Violet was someone I would inevitably crash into no matter what I did.

"You said I didn't want to know what you know," Violet whispers. "On the plane. That was what you said."

I can feel her body heat through my clothes. I want to tear off every scrap of fabric that separates me from her.

"I didn't take you as someone who liked to do as you're told." My voice sounds gravelly and low, and my control is only hanging on by a tiny thread. This is so fucking dangerous.

I decided to crochet a little Andarna and now I'm racing to finish her before the next chapter comes out XD
