The shuttle pulled up and Denise was off on her first vacation in decades.

I know it seems like ages since I posted anything on here.  I’ve gotten into the Undertale fandom (late as usual...) and have been writing up a storm over at @anneimaginesundertale , if anyone is interested in that. I also got a new job teaching pre-kindergarten back in August that has meant I don’t have much free time, even on weekends.  (You’d think I would, but when I’m not teaching I’m planning what to teach next...) 

Long story short, I haven’t opened my Sims 2 game in over a month.  I still want to play Bluewater Challenge.  I’m not about to give up on it.  I just...haven’t felt the urge to play.  But I’m feeling it today.  I’ve got about half the Jacquet round in drafts (from a month ago) and plan to finish it tonight and set it to start posting.  I just wanted to update you guys, because you’ve all been very patient with me.   

A few hours later, Denise walked upstairs to Gilbert’s room. “Gilbert?”

He turned from the computer desk.  “What’s up, Mom?”

“I’ve thought about what you said, about a vacation.  I think...you’re right.  I could stand a few days off.  I haven’t had a vacation since your father and I went to Champs les Sims for our 20th anniversary. If you think we have the money for it, then I’ll go.”

Gilbert grinned.  “We definitely have the money.  Where would you want to go?  Champs les Sims might be a little expensive, but there are places closer than that for a getaway.”

“Such as?”

“Come here and I’ll show you.”

Denise came over to the computer and Gilbert pulled up a few different websites.  Eventually, Denise decided on a trip to Three Lakes, a mountain community a few hours north of Bluewater.  Gilbert helped her choose a resort to stay at, since she was dead set against staying in a tent, and they booked a flight for a couple days later.  Once it was all done, Gilbert stood up and hugged his mom.

“I really think this’ll be good for you,” he said. “And I swear, I won’t throw any wild crazy parties while you’re gone.”

Reading aloud -- I get to do this more at my new job and I love it!

My cat -- He is fluffy and cute.  He always makes these lists.

Sunflowers -- They’re my favorite flower.  I have a vase of fake ones on my desk and they cheer me up.

Getting things done -- I’ve spent all day working to get things ready for this coming week.  I’ve finally gotten nearly everything I need to do done and it feels so good.

Spending time with my family -- I got to spend time with my mom today (when I wasn’t working) and it was nice to get a chance to talk to her.

Favorite TV Series

@thesimtraveler tagged me again, this time for favorite TV series.  The funny thing is, I don’t actually watch TV anymore.  I haven’t sat down in front of a television to watch something regularly (or even just randomly) for ages.  I’ll watch and rewatch favorite episodes of these shows on the computer, though.  Have you seen any of these?  What do you think of them?
