This is my main blog. I do have a few side blogs for my writing and crafting (and my cat). Originally, this was a sims 2 blog, but now I post about reading and just about anything I’m thinking. I hope you’ll join me! I’m going to try to be more consistent in 2023.

They Turned The Topic To Other Things And Finished The Rest Of Their Meal.

They turned the topic to other things and finished the rest of their meal.
“Since we missed the movie at the theater, do you want to come back to my place and watch something?” Malcolm asked as they got up. “I’ve got a bunch of DVDs, or we could get something on SimFlix, if you want.”
“Sure.” Abby grinned. “You know, I haven’t actually been to your house. I’m kind of excited to see it.”
“It’s nothing special,” Malcolm said.
“Of course not,” she laughed. “You’re just the heir to the local legacy. Why would your house be anything special? I bet you have a robot butler and a secret crime-fighting lair in the basement, right? Right?”
“Even if I did, I wouldn’t be able to tell you about it,” Malcolm said. “I’d have to deny it to keep my alter ego safe. Don’t go all plucky girl reporter on me, okay?”
“I’m glad you think I’m plucky!”

That evening, Malcolm took Abby to dinner at the Wooden It Be Nice cafe in Woodspell Springs. They’d intended to go to a movie beforehand, but the show they wanted to see was sold out. They still had a nice dinner.

Er, Breanna? I know you and Gil were getting to be friends last time, but I don’t remember you being close enough to sit on his lap...Eh, he doesn’t seem to mind.

“I’m sorry we couldn’t get into the movie,” Malcolm said over dinner. “I should have bought the tickets online so we could get in. I got kind of...distracted at work.”
“No worries,” Abby said. “We can try another time. What happened to distract you?”
Malcolm picked at his food for a minute, uncertain if he really wanted to talk to her about this. “I got a phone call from someone I didn’t really want to talk to,” he said at last. “It kind of got my temper going.”
“You have a temper?” Abby joked. “I mean, I know you have the eyebrows to have a temper, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen you angry. Even when that guy at the theater said it was sold out, you were pretty calm.”
Malcolm laughed. “That wasn’t a big deal,” he said. “This call, though...Let’s just say there’s someone who’s been pushing his nose into my personal business and I got tired of it a while ago.”
“Have you told him that?”
“I’d rather not talk about this, if that’s okay. It’s nothing you need to worry about, and it’ll just put me in a bad mood. I don’t want to ruin the night.”
“Okay.” She reached across the table and laid her hand gently over his. “I won’t push you, even if all my reporter instincts are telling me to keep digging and get the story. But if you ever do want to tell me, you know I’ll listen.”
“I know.” He smiled and squeezed her hand.

Malcolm stood up and gestured at the room they were in. “So, this is the den,” he said in a goofy tour guide voice. “Here the Landgraab family has traditionally played chess and, in more recent years, watched television.”
Abby giggled. “How fascinating! These rich sims live so differently from we common folk. What room is next?”
