Hi! I saw your post about fiction requests! If your still doing it, Can you write one about the reader comforting lando? Also could you include some sort or disorders eating in it?

If not, no biggie!

I decided not to bring in the eating disorder cause it wouldn’t fit and I think the topic is too important to be just a side theme. If you want I can write an imagine where I focus solely on that.

Your keys jiggle as you unlock the front door to the apartment you share with your boyfriend. You can already hear the sounds of a video game and him talking to his friends.

He’s streaming again. It lights up your heart to hear him laugh so freely.

You put down the groceries you had bought on your way home from work and make your way to his room.

You open the door quietly and peak your head in.

When Lando sees your face he smiles at you brightly and announces to his mates and fans “ Guys! My girlfriend is home. I gotta go.” He is interrupted by his companies complaining and trying to persuade him to stay for one more round. But Lando being the perfect boyfriend he is, takes his headset off, ignores his friends and logs out of the game. He stands up to greet you with a sweet and inviting kiss. He tastes like a mixture of the cherry lip balm he uses and the mint chip flavoured ice cream he ate. It’s sweet, just like him.

“Hello love, how was your day ?”

“It was fine, nothing out of the ordinary, but I see you had a fun day.”

“Yeah me and the guys hung out a little” he emphasizes the word ’hung’ with quotation marks.

You couldn’t help but notice the slight shift in his voice and body language. His shoulder dropped slightly and his voice sounded strained.

“You alright?” You ask concerned.

“Yeah why should I be, my love?” He responds trying to sound upbeat, but you know better. You can decide between his put-on- happiness and the real deal, the one that seems to light up his whole face and makes every fiber of your body yearn to make him shine like that for the rest of his and your life.

“Lando? What is going on?” He closes his eyes, defeated. He knew you would know immediately and he didn’t want to worry you. He doesn’t like it. Yes he loves when you take care of him but he doesn’t want you worrying that he’s not happy, because he is. You make him so incredibly happy.

“It’s just.” He sighs “Please don’t think I’m stupid.”

“I already think you are so no worries, can’t get worse than that.” You try to lighten the mood and you manage because for a moment you can see his mouth twitch. He’s trying to suppress a smile and you think come on. Smile for me. Show me that beautiful smile of yours. But he doesn’t smile.

“I miss Carlos.” Yup that is the sound of your heart breaking.

“What?” You almost whisper, tears welling in his eyes.

“I-i love Dany, he's the best, he’s so great and and he’s an excellent teammate, but I i… . I just miss Carlos. I really miss him. Those years with him were the best racing years I ever had and ever will have. He’s my best friend and I haven’t seen him in so freaking long.” Lando talks and talks like a river whose overflow and there's no stopping him from spilling everything he had buried in the darkest places of his mind for so long.

“Carlos and I were inseparable and we laughed so so much. Of course I laugh a hell of a lot with Ricciardo, but it’s different from my relationship with Carlos. These two years with him were, were-“ tears are streaming down his face, they are streaming down your face too. He’s laying himself bare in front of you and your heart is breaking. Lando is always this sweet and happy persona and no one ever thinks of the possibility of him being so deeply sad. The bond that he and Carlos had was incredible and you wished you could do anything to help him, to take his pain away. But you can’t.

Lando is your hero, he saved you from yourself multiple times and now you need to save him.

So you hug him. You hug him as hard as you can. Telling him that you are here for him through your touch. Signalling to him that you’ll listen and that you love him unconditionally. Because you do, you love him so freaking much, sometimes it hurts.

He mutters something into your neck that you can’t make out.

“What was that lovey?”

“I’ll never forget these two years. I promised him that and I’ll keep my promise, but it hurts like a bitch. Sometimes I just want to forget, to erase the pain.” His body is shaking with sobs and you try to calm him down. You gently stroke his hair and whisper sweet nothings into his ear. You tell him how much you love him and that Carlos misses him too, you’re sure of it.

It’s killing you to see him like this and you want to take his pain away, but how ? You can’t turn back the time and make Carlos stay at McLaren. You would if you could, but you can’t.

“Baby, why don’t you just tell him?”

“I’m scared,” Lando responds, his voice small.

“What do you mean, what are you afraid of ?” You dig.

“What if he things I’m being overly emotional or too sensitive and that I’m annoying and-“

“Oh come on,” you huff, “ this is utter bullshit and you know it! Carlos would never think of you like that. You and him spent two years together as best friends, he’s not just gonna forget you baby. Just tell him. I don’t care if you call him or text him, send him an email or tell him the next time you see him, but tell him Lando. It’s not good for you if you bottle up your emotions ,” you’re rubbing his back comfortingly, “ and if you want me to come with you then I’ll be there. I’m with you till the end of the line. “ he chucked and you can feel him smiling into your neck.

“Alright Mrs. Barnes,”

“Sorry, but I had to. ”Your one hand trails from his back to his hair, stroking it gently.

“I know, you’re such a marvel stan and you couldn’t let a opportunity like this slide,” Lando kisses your neck gently,”I’m with you till the end of the line too,love.” He whispers sofly.

“My marvel heart is swooning so hard for you right now.” You laugh.

And Landos response almost makes it stop. “My heart is always swooning for you and smiling and laughing and beating. I love you.” He looks at you, your faces inches apart. His breath fans your face and when you lean in to kiss him he says,” 3000. I love you 3000.” God this man is the reason your alive.

Lando presses his lips against yours, the taste of his lips intoxicating and making you feel dizzy. You sigh and try to pull him closer.

After what feels like eternity he breaks the kiss and leans his forehead against yours.

“Tomorrow I will talk to Carlos. You’re right he won’t think bad of me just because I’m missing him.”

“I’m so proud of you baby,” you place a kiss on his forehead ,”but let’s get something to eat, I’m starving.”

“You’re always starving darling.” He laughs.

You smile,” maybe”.

Lando kisses you again before taking your hand and leading you into the kitchen.

He may be your hero, but you will do everything to protect his happiness.
