after watching a police interview with nex benedict it is !!my opinion!! that they were dismissive and negligent, as well as the school.

this petition calls for an independent investigation into their death, especially since the police have take the liberties to claim that it was not the result of head trauma(interpretation, not fact.). and i think you all should sign it 👍 they’re only 50ish votes from their goal but we should still go over that.

Let's see... writing my name sometimes brings on massive waves of gender euphoria. It's great

things are so dark for trans folks right now, and i hate waking up every day to see nothing but fear and depression in our comunity. id like it if you could flood my ask box or even reblog this with the last bit of gender euphoria you had, no matter how big or small.

I try to not see too much information about the murders cause it's incredibly triggering, but I just wanted to say smth before I block the tag

Nex was practically a child. Brianna was practically a child. Both of them were teenagers, barely older than myself. The adults in their lives were supposed to protect them. The school was supposed to do something, someone was supposed to call an ambulance, somebody was supposed to do something. I'm a trans kid, a bit younger than them. I live in Florida. I never really felt safe, and especially not with all the recent legal developments, but this is the last straw.

People are dying. Teenagers are dying. Not just dying, they were murdered. And even for those people who try and shift the blame off of their murderers by claiming it was suicide, that's not any fucking better.

I'm just a kid. I shouldn't have to fear for my life, and doubly should not have to spend my days terrified that my life is in danger by the people and systems that are supposed to keep me safe - that I'm supposed to be able to trust

If anybody legitimately thinks that any of this is to "protect the kids", go fuck yourself. I am one of those kids you claim to worry so much about, and I can tell you firsthand that you are only making things worse.

🙏🙏💖💖🙏🙏💖

Hello dear, I am talking to you about my suffering and the suffering of my children. I have not met or seen my children for more than a year because I am in Egypt for treatment, and my children in Gaza are going through difficult and desperate conditions. They are unable to obtain the basic necessities of life. Who brings them water and food in light of the difficult conditions and high prices there. I also have a strong fear of losing them. Please help by donating. If you cannot help, please share. There is news about the opening of the Rafah crossing this month, which is the only opportunity through which I can meet them. Please helpVerified by @gazavetters, my verified number in the list is (#55)Please republish the blog or if there is a way you can help me reach the goal, the campaign is going very slowly 🙏🙏

I need to say my first movie with queer rep that stayed in my mind is movie about Turning with Benedict Cumberbatch (sorry i always forget the name). When I was Younger before I came out to myself I had imagined gay rep even it wasn't there. And I thought, while I was watching, fun thing if Turing was gay and then he was. I was so shocked. And happy finally someone gay and then he died. Still I feel connection to his story. (And gender envy to Benedict but it is whole different story).

im curious, what was the first book or show you saw with queer rep and how did it influence you?

Seriously. It's like no government cares. They're happy for us to be killed and they won't bat an eyelid at the murder of PEOPLE in an environment they are FORCED to be in that is supposed to be SAFE!

This is not okay.

SHOUT IT

SAY THEIR NAME: Nex Benedict, another 16 YEAR OLD was murdered in Oklahoma, news channels are deadnaming and misgendering them, just like with Brianna Ghey here in the UK. But I urge you to not let your grief drive you to despair. GET ANGRY. Do not become apathetic, do not let grief numb you. Stand united as a community, lean on each other, have each others back. Reach out to any trans individuals of any age and make sure they have support in some capacity. Speak with your family, your political representatives, your school, anywhere, with anyone, that may be able to make some change, whether big or small. Everything builds, that is the power of a movement, of solidarity. If you make life a bit safer for one trans youth once, then you may have saved their life that day. And that kid might then show some other kid that there is hope, and so they live as well. And it grows.

Fly high Nex.
