Ninjago Oc Secret Santa 2023 Sign Ups

Alrighty folks, the time has come to sign up for the 2023 Ninjago Oc Secret Santa! Please read the information provided in the description of the form; additional information will be provided upon receiving your assignment.

As of the forms being released, you will have until November 1st  to fill your form out.

Expect to receive your assignments within the week after the form closes. After receiving your assignment you will have until December 23rd to January 7th to finish you piece, with a late period extending from January 8th to January 14th.

Do not post your piece until the designated posting days.

There’s no rule against signing up for both sections; however I do ask you to consider the time provided and how long it will take you to finish a piece.

Also, an update regarding information in the initial info post: I previously stated that the sign up forms would not require you to sign in. This is unfortunately not true, as google forms apparently require users to sign in if the form permits you to upload a file. This isn't something I knew until recently.

The forms are still completely anonymous however; the forms won't collect your email, and therefore it will remain private.

This is Jayden! He’s my OC stand-in equivalent of a Bizarro!MovieJay.

Basically, he’s a full-oni who lives in Onitoryū, a continent in the movieverse that is the equivalent of the First Realm (I hc’d that the realms were different continents in the movie long before Dragons Rising happened lol). He got kicked out of his pack because he can’t shape-shift properly (they took care of him when he was really young, but now that he’s the equivalent of a human teen, his lack of shapeshifting ability and changing times with Dragon Hunters and Imperial trade going crazy, he puts the entire pack in danger).

When Jayden shapeshifts, he still retains some of his oni properties— ex. he still has (a) smaller horn(s), his tail, his hands still have claws and a gradient effects, his teeth are still sharp, etc. He’d need the right blueprint to base his human form on to pass as human… and that’s where Blue (movie!Jay) comes in.

See, Jayden wandered Onitoryū on his own for a bit, then had a bad incident with a dragon (see: his broken horn and missing eye) and some Imperium Claws (see: the chain scar around his leg) and fled. He managed to find a port-town and sneak aboard a tourist ship using the excuse of his oni features as “fake costuming for Onitoryū”. Unfortunately, the same excuse wouldn’t work in the ship’s destination: the continent of Ninjago, specially the capital Ninjago City.

And so Jayden needed a new disguise, and along came the perfect one:

- Fluffy hair to hide smaller horns

- A big scarf to hide his teeth

- A big puffy hoodie that he can hide his tail under with a pouch pocket to hide his hands in

The only problem with using Blue’s form as a disguise (minus the social issues as one of Ninjago’s most hated, but Jayden is used to being treated as an outcast and never had any friends or relations before either) is that he’s quite a deal shorter (and has human anatomy to get used to) but otherwise he’s the perfect template.

So perfect, in fact, that Jayden ends up running into one of Blue’s friends and passing as Blue himself and not just someone who looks like him. Jayden gets a taste of friendship and it’s oh-so-addicting.

So logically, he does what any sane and normal person would do, and maybe-sorta-kidnaps Blue a little. Just for one day. In an empty warehouse not too far from the ninja base, which Jayden stocked full of supplies and blankets and other things. It was only supposed to be for one day, just so Jayden could live a day in Blue’s shoes, one day of friendship and loving parents and normal human activities.

But Jayden got hooked, and one day turned to two, and two to a week. The guilt is eating him up inside but he just can’t get himself to leave— he’s so affection-starved that the tiniest physical contact or verbal affection leaves him giddy. Good thing Blue is normally clingy, because Jayden is latched to the sides of each of his friends.

The thing is, depending on the timeline… most of Blue’s friends have ALSO been replaced by ‘bizarro’ equivalents of themselves. Red (Movie!Kai) was replaced with Kaigami, a nindroid (and bby bean) built by the Mechanic with no memories of being a fake or a nindroid. White (Movie!Zane) was replaced with Oread, a seagull-themed nindroid built by Garmadon’s enginerds. And Black (Movie!Cole) was replaced with Charcoal, a clone made by Vangelis of Shintaro.

So anytime “Blue” acts off, the suspicion on him by Cyan (Movie!Nya) and Green (Movie!Lloyd) is lessened by the fact that the other three OG4 members are also acting a bit off.

Eventually Jayden can’t take the guilt anymore and flat-out confesses instead of his earlier plan of simply letting Blue go and quietly vanishing. Blue, Cyan, and Green are mad of course, but Blue sees why Jayden did it (and sees that the kidnapping thing wasn’t malicious or evil, just an impulsive move by a very desperate and affect-starved traumatized oni) and accepts his apologies.

Jayden winds up adopted by Ed & Edna and lives a very happy life in Ninjago City— he also winds up dating Charcoal and Oread (Kaigami is much younger mentally so that’s a nope) and is the most cuddly bf ever.

Some bonus hcs:

- Jayden goes by (he/they) pronouns and isn’t opposed to using Neo pronouns either

- Poor guy is terrified of dragons from his bad experience, he can smell that Green is half-dragon (and half-oni) and totally thinks Green can smell he’s an oni back

- He purrs when happy— it sometimes has a bit of a chittering noise mixed in

- His tail is so long he can use it like a climbing rope when he climbs with his hooves— or get it slammed in doors easily

- His eye glows in the dark! Very terrifying to find him perched on the furniture of a dark room. When he’s disguised as Blue (or anyone with two eyes), his normally missing eye doesn’t work

- Once he gets a good bath, his fur becomes so fluffy and soft

- Human anatomy confuses him

Ella grew up in a small house in Ninjago with her parents Finn and Mary Wilson. Mary was the previous master of Stars. The power was soon passed down to her daughter. She meet the ninja in the Tournament of Elements.

This season is obviously about Ella and it revolves around her past. So Ella has been feeling down for a while. So Wu suggest that she should spend some time outdoors. So why not go camping, she loved camping. She’s been doing it since she was little. Ella can’t decide we’re to go so she ask Ronin for a map. Bad decision. But she and the ninja go anyway.They soon find out this camp site isn’t what it seems. Now in order to get out they have to face their demons and their past.

Okay so so, I wanted to a rant about some Ninjago ocs I have.

But the funny thing is that they both ended up being part oni because i made them through youtube oc challenges.

(My autocorrect broke while i was typing that 😭)

Meet Zed

Zed is part human obviously, but he’s also part oni and dragon. Similarly to Lloyd, but he’s part just normal Oni and Ice dragon.

His hair color is completely natural as well, and if ya look closely you can see his ears :3

He rocks a bow, and keeps a dagger on himself at all times.

His ninja outfit is usually in some form of pinkish/purple and green. Which actually doesn’t relates back to his elemental power, as he doesn’t have one.

Yep, Zed isn’t an elemental master. In a typical sense. While he doesn’t have “elemental powers”, he still has ice and destruction abilities he gained from his ancestors.

Zed is my oc that represents me, so here are some things he has that I do too: Autism, adhd, depression, social anxiety, general anxiety, and possibly some personality disorder.

[A warning: he, like myself, does not have panicked anxiety. He does not have panic attacks, like myself, instead has anxiety attacks. I want to make this clear. HE DOES NOT HAVE PANIC ATTACKS!]

Other things he is cause of me: a trans dude, cupio aro, poly.

He’s actually pansexual, while I’m just neptunic. So this gets its one bit :3

Also a cool little thing I want to add! You can see a bit of green sticking out from under his skirt, that’s actually a green cloth he has on his ninja suit as well!

Meet Eric

Eric is the result of a human and oni sleeping together.

Though Eric doesn’t know this, as they was raised by their adopted grandparents (old people who adopted them).

(They were also created by a YouTube oc challenge, but I don’t have the links to either of the videos. Nor do I remember what they were called)

Eric actually does have elemental powers. And that would be plants (I have no idea if the og dude is dead or not, but I’m just assume he is).

And I do have some basic personality traits down: They’re incredibly nice, they easily trust people, they’re definitely a people person, but they do manipulate people when they think it’s necessary.

They’re non-binary, and gay. Shocker I know lol

And here’s their civilian look

And if you can’t tell, they do wear a jacket so they can hide their tail easily. They don’t really wanna freak anyone out, get kicked out, or hunted down for you know. Being half oni

Oh and they’re (Eric and Zed) both about 16 in dragon’s rising.
