Currently Reading "Soldaten: On Fighting, Killing And Dying - The Secret WWII Transcripts Of German POWs",

I'm reading the german version because I wanted to know how they expressed themselves in the 40s and how they phrased their experiences.

So far it's shocking to see how fast people lose their compassion, humanity and sense for right and wrong in a war.

Can definitely recommend it.
