Levi Attack On Titan - Tumblr Posts - Page 3
Hey!
I'm in love with your blog! QWQ
I was wondering if I could request a fic about Levi, where his s/o doesn't get back from a simple supply mission but everyone else did, and Levi has a break down at front of his cadets or the veterans or both (whatever you prefer) because he thinks it was his fault or this is his life where he gonna lost everyone but after few days his s/o get back to the headquarters with cuts and bruises after those hard days outside of the wall and Levi can't believe it is real and not some daydream about his love. Long story short I need an angst fic with happy ending! QwQ
Thank you so much, feel free to ignore this if you don't like it or if you don't want to. You're amazing and I hope you have an amazing day!

“i won’t let you do this.” a stern voice sounded off in the night air as you mounted your horse. you sighed, looking at the stars that peaked out behind the tree tops above you. not bothering to turn around, you knew who that voice belonged to, you were intimately familiar with it.
“it’s not your decision to make, i have to do this with or without your blessing. this is bigger than both of us.” you said, grimacing at your own words. you wished you could choose to be selfish, and stay behind with levi. part of you thought that all of humanity could be shot straight to hell for all you cared, as long as you and levi could be here together in the sanctity of the wooded fortress, but you couldn’t afford to think that way. you had a job to do.
levi made his way around your horse yanking you down in the process, thankfully he caught you on the way down. levi’s strong arms pinned your form to his chest, so tightly that you felt as if your lungs could collapse under the pressure.
“fuck whoever’s decision it is, it’s my decision that i can’t let you go.”
your heart melted at the sight of Levi being so worried over you. his hand held a firm grip on the small of your back, while the other held the base of your head. his strong hold made your body turn to putty in his embrace.
your voice came almost as a whisper, “it’s a stealth mission levi, you heard the commanders orders.” your tone faltered when his gaze intensified. you reached a hand up to cup his face in an attempt to ease him, “it’s for the good of humanity.”
he nodded your hand away, “i don’t give a fuck about humanity. you are what matters to me, and i need you to stay alive. this mission only puts your life in jeopardy.”
you ignored his protest and cupped his face anyways as a frown formed on your face.
levi wasn’t really mad.. you knew that. he was scared, and so were you but you knew that if you followed the commanders instructions correctly, you should be back to the fortress by dawn, back in levi’s arms once more.
“you know i love you right?” levi’s face finally softened at your words, a smile formed on your face at the sight. “the sooner i can do this, the sooner i’ll be back here with you. it’s a simple in and out mission, i just have to sneak into the MP’s base, snag the supplies, and get out of there. simple as that.”
levi rolled his eyes at your oversimplification.
“yeah, and you could get caught and killed in the process.” you leaned in closer, your lips were just a hair’s length distance away from levi’s, “you trust me don’t you? am i not capable, captain?”
his jaw clenched, “goddamn it, you're not going to let me win this one are you?”
you winked at your boyfriend playfully, “i’ll be back before you know it.”
levi’s grip tightened on your neck, as he closed the distance between your lips. the kiss was much more passionate than usual, your tongues danced around each other frantically in an attempt to quell the fear that was rising in both of your stomachs. levi’s hands caressed your figure desperately, trying to memorize every plain and curve that made up your body. he knew that he had to let you go, there was no stopping you when your mind was made up, but he couldn’t shake the bad feeling his intuition was giving him about this mission. if the MP’s didn’t catch you, there would still be a chance that you could run into any number of titans while you were traveling.
levi finally broke the kiss, looking upon your face with that same stoic expression that you have grown to love, “don’t get caught, and don’t you dare get killed by a fucking titan either.”
you chuckled at his words as your bodies finally separated. levi was never great with words but you knew what he was trying to say, “yeah, i love you too.” you climbed back on top of your horse. levi reached up to place a hand on your thigh,
“remember-“ you covered his hand with your own giving a tender squeeze, “don’t die, yes i remember.”
______
you were grateful for the cover that the night gave you, no titans would be active at this hour.
this will be a simple in and out mission just like the commander said. you thought.
you were feeling very optimistic, you were able to sneak into the MP’s base with no issue but now it was a matter of finding the supplies. all you knew to look for was a wooden crate with ‘fragile’ stamped on the front, that is all the commander would divulge about the supplies you were seeking out.
you snuck into the facility’s basement and made your way through the maze-like corridors, not finding anything that fit the commander's description. you knew that dawn would come soon, which meant that the possibility of getting caught, or eaten by a titan on your way back grew greater.
time wandered on as you diligently searched through the labyrinth that was the cold, dark basement. you inspected every dusty room with no luck. adrenaline and anxiety pumped through your veins, you knew that you had spent too much time in the basement. a key part of the mission was to be back to the castle by dawn.
you had almost given up your search when an object in the corner caught your eye. you hastily brushed the dust off the large box, revealing the words ‘fragile’ printed on.
this better be the right box, cause i gotta get the fuck out of here.
_______
levi knew he wouldn’t sleep until you made it back safely. he tried to occupy his mind with the mountain of paperwork that desperately needed tending to on his desk, but he found himself watching the clock, counting the minutes until you were back to the castle.
dawn was approaching. many members of the scout regiment were already getting an early start to their day, some getting ready for training, while others tended to the horses. levi decided that he was much too anxious to stay confined in his quarters. the captain marched out to the front of the castle and busied himself with cleaning his already spotless ODM gear just so he could keep an eye out for your approach.
______
shit, the suns coming up. you thought as you finally tied the supply box to the side of your horse’s saddle bag. titan’s would be active soon. you made sure to stay hyper vigilant once you lead your horse galloping through the forest.
your anxiety rose along with the sun that was beginning to peak over the treetops. you still had a good way to go before you could reach the castle, you knew that some sort of interaction with a titan was inevitable at this point. you tried to ease your fearful mind, your thoughts were racing. you knew that you would have an advantage over a titan in this environment if you initiated your ODM gear, but you had to make sure the supplies made it back to the castle safely. your gear was virtually useless in this situation.
time passed slowly and the distance ahead seemed never ending. the sun continued its ascension, now beaming directly upon you.
the sound of your horse’s feet pounding the terrain below filled your ears. your ears perked when you picked up on the loud thunderous steps in the distance. steps that could only belong to a titan. judging by the sounds that continued to grow louder, you knew that you had mere seconds before it would be on top of you.
_______
levi paced in front of the castle, “she should have been back by now. the sun is almost at its midday mark, what if she was intercepted by a titan on the way back?”
“oh! i’m sure she’s fine! hopefully she killed one so i can run some tests on it!” hange said enthusiastically.
“please shut the fuck up hange.”
_______
well i really am shit out of luck. you thought as a 17 meter titans gained on you. you really didn’t know how you were going to get out of this one, the mission comes first and you couldn’t leave the supplies or your horse behind. you couldn’t live with yourself if you did.
you unsheathed your swords, gripping the sides of the horse tight with your thighs praying to the gods that you don’t fall off.
the titan gained on you on your right side, attempting to pull you from your horse. you noticed that this particular titan had long, sharp nails. you knew that you definitely didn’t want to get sliced by those things.
you aggressively swung and jabbed at the titan with both swords, but you didn’t make contact.
shit shit shit.
the beastly looking creature swung wide with its giant hand, cutting you deep across your back.
you shrieked out in burning pain. the cuts were so deep your clothing was ripped and already soaked in blood.
you knew you couldn’t falter, not now. you took the opening and sliced through the thick flesh of the titans fore arm, completely removing the limb causing it to fall back.
your vision became dark and splotchy, you knew you were close to losing consciousness from the loss of blood. you roused up every ounce of willpower to guide your horse on.
just a little bit farther..i’m almost there levi. you thought as your vision went black.
_______
levi was trying his best to conceal his emotions, he felt like a ball of nerves right now, you were supposed to be back hours ago. levi still stood in front of the castle, now joined by his squad. he was about to order a search party for you, he was so anxious.
“uh.. captain..” uruo pointed into the distance at your lifeless body being carried by your horse.
without a second thought levi sprinted in your direction, a woeful expression painted his face as he saw your body lurched over your horse's back, covered in blood.
levi tried to pull you off the horse as quickly and as gently as possible, being very aware of your wounded back. levi felt even more alarmed when you didn’t yell out in pain, he cradled your unanimated form on the ground while all the bystanders were stunned at the scene playing out in front of them.
the trees swayed in the wind while levi looked down on your pale face, “no! no!” levi’s body shook as he pulled you to his chest, propping your head up in his hands, “wake up! don’t you dare die on me!” his chest heaved up and down as tears streamed down his face. levi turned to look at his squad, “what the fuck are you doing? go get a fucking medic!”
half of the crowd turned, running into the castle to retrieve help. levi removed his hand from the small of your back, analyzing all of the blood that covered his hand. ice ran through his veins when the smell of iron entered his nose.
levi continued to shake your body. his tears dripped down on to your face as he cried, “i’m sorry i didn’t say it back! fuck, i love you too damn it! please wake up! you can’t die on me over this fucking mission!”
the medics finally arrived, levi reluctantly let them take you out of his arms. the captain tried to regain his composure, having never shown this much emotion in front of anyone. ever. much less shedding full blown tears in front of half of the scout regiment.
levi followed the medics that carried your unconscious body into the castle, “is she okay? will she make it?”
“she’s lost a lot of blood but she hasn’t left us yet.”
levi felt hope bloom in his chest at the medics words.
_______
you were stirred from your peace at the sound of china-ware clinging together. you didn’t even have to open your eyes to know exactly where that sound was coming from, you knew it was levi stirring what was probably his third cup of tea.
as soon as you opened your eyes you felt pain. you groaned at the stinging feeling that came from your back muscles. levi jumped at the sound of your voice, moving closer to your side from where he was sitting.
levi observed your features with a careful expression as he craned his neck over your still pale face.
you felt emotion well up from deep inside of you at the sight of the sable haired man, “levi.” you groaned.
you were taken back by how horse your voice sounded.
levi tried to conceal the overwhelming emotions he felt from hearing your sweet voice, “shh. it’s okay, i’m here. i’m here.” you drew in a short breath when you saw tears begin to prick your lovers eyes. you reached up to cup levi’s face, to your surprise levi actually leaned into your touch.
“it’s okay levi, i’m okay.”
“yes but you almost weren’t.” he said in a gruff tone.
he had you there, though you were grateful to have made it out of your titan debacle in one piece, you knew it was a close call with all of the blood you lost.
“well, was the commander pleased that he got his super secret supplies?” you asked playfully in an attempt to lighten the mood.
levi’s usual unamused expression returned to his face, “fuck those supplies.” he deadpanned as he pulled you into a fierce kiss. levi's tongue broke past your lips and immediately intertwined with your own. levi felt desperate, he deeply missed the feeling of your lips on his.
warmth washed over your whole body when levi pulled away, cupping your face with both hands.
you were at a loss of words, you had never seen levi actively show so much emotion in such a short span of time.
“i don’t want to lose you, so please keep that in mind the next time you accept a task from the commander.”
you laughed at levi’s words, “i love you.”
“i love you too. so much, so fucking much.”
levi’s held the back of your head, raking his hands through your hair as he initiated a long and languid kiss on your lips.
you wrapped your arms around levi’s neck, feeling perfectly safe in his arms.

getting back on the dating scene after your breakup wasn’t easy at first, the first month afterwards you spent most of your time moping around your apartment, and calling in sick to work every other day. your friends were worried about you during that first month post breakup, constantly calling and texting only to receive no answer from you.
eventually your closest friend, sasha decided that she had had enough of your ‘woe is me’ act and practically broke down your front door. sasha heaved heavily in your doorway, already feeling hungry from the physical exertion.
“jesus christ! you can’t knock?” you said with a mouth full of popcorn. you had just sat down to rewatch your favorite rom-com when your best friend stormed into your apartment.
“you can’t answer your damn phone?” she said as she took a seat next to you on the couch.
“i guess you have me there.” sasha hummed at your response, yanking the bucket of popcorn out of your hands.
you stared at the brunette, who was inhaling the popcorn like a vacuum cleaner, “slow down or you’ll choke.”
“i’ll slow down when you tell me what went down between you and levi.”
your stomach dropped at the sound of his name, you hadn’t talked to anyone about your breakup yet. it was just too painful.
everyone thought that you and levi were end game, the two of you fit together so perfectly. you were the only one that could bring out the soft and vulnerable side of levi, while he was the only one who had ever made you feel safe and secure in a relationship. the two of you were the perfect match. the yin and the yang.. or so you thought.
“i’d rather not talk about it.” you said as you reverted your gaze back to the TV, blinking away tears that threatened to fall.
sasha spoke with a full mouth. her voice coming out muffled, “well if you refuse to talk about it, i’ll just have to force you out tonight. you’ve been soaking in your sadness for long enough.”
you looked down at your food stained sleep shirt, “sasha do i really look like i’m suited to go out tonight?”
“well you do look pretty pathetic..” she paused to stuff her mouth with the last of the popcorn, “but i know your potential. you just need to shower off whatever that smell is, and put on something black and slutty!”
“black and slutty?” you echoed, taking a stand from the couch.
“yup! now hurry up before i raid your refrigerator.”
you made your way into your bedroom, “eat anything besides my cookie dough ice cream and we’ll be fine.”
you took your time in the shower, making sure to scrub your body clean. it had been at least a week since your last shower, you just couldn’t get the motivation to get up and complete the simple task of managing your hygiene. you felt grateful that sasha was forcing you to do something with yourself, you had isolated yourself for long enough.
_________
you successfully scrubbed your body clean and even applied makeup. you couldn’t remember the last time you wore makeup, it was definitely before you and levi broke up. you almost found it difficult to recognize yourself, the person you saw in the mirror looked so foreign to you.
you grinned at the reflection, appreciating the job you did on your face. you almost felt like yourself again. almost.
“you have two minutes to get out here before i eat that ice cream! hurry up!” sasha yelled from the living room. you tried to cultivate a sense of urgency and picked out the first black dress that you saw in your closet.
sasha gasped at the sight of you, you wore a silk black slip dress with your favorite pair of black heels. it was a relatively simple get up but having not seen you look presentable in what felt like ages, sasha was at a loss for words. mouth hanging open, sasha stuck a spoon in your ice cream. your eyes followed the movement, “sasha for the love of god, that ice cream was the one thing that i told you not to eat. you said in an unsurprised tone.
“yes well i was hungry and you were taking forever. you ready or what?”
———-
you couldn’t figure out why sasha chose this bar, she said we would be meeting people here. though you couldn’t figure out how you would find them, the place was packed wall-to-wall with people.
your brain felt overstimulated. having spent so much time indoors lately, you almost forgot how rambunctious places like this could get. you were pushed and shoved the whole way through the building, finally making it to the bar sasha waved down the bartender, “two shots of tito’s! and don’t be afraid to use a heavy hand! this one just had a break up!” she yelled, pointing at you.
you wanted to shrink into your skin, feeling the warm wave of embarrassment crash over you.
the bartender smiled and nodded at your friend's request, while you elbowed her in the side in retaliation.
the bartender seemed to have taken sasha’s words seriously about pouring with a heavy hand, “i poured you a double, you look like you need it.” he said as he slid the shots in your direction.
god. do i look that miserable?
the bartender slid the receipt forward, “that’ll be 23 dollars.”
sasha shook her head, quickly taking her shot. “put it on jean kirschtein’s tab, okay babe?”
the bartender simply nodded in response.
your brows furrowed in confusion, “who’s jean?”
“you’ll see, hurry up and take that shot. there’s more where that came from.”
immediately after taking your shot, sasha locked arms with you and pulled your body through the crowd. the room spun for a moment, the shot seemed to go straight to your head as sasha moved swiftly through the hoard of people.
the two of you finally entered into a separate space that was dimly lit and much less crowded. you let out a sigh of relief, feeling much more comfortable in the tranquil atmosphere.
the room had its own bar, with large round booths lining the walls. a group of people cheered and high-fived each other next to the vintage arcade games, clearly feeling happy over scoring a victory.
a large man sitting in one of the booths waved in your direction, “sasha! over here!”
you followed sasha over to the table, the man with dirty blonde hair whispered something to the guy next to him when his eyes met yours.
his eyes raked over your body. he took his sweet time looking at you from top to bottom, eventually returning to meet your gaze once more. his subtle act suddenly made you feel incredibly self conscious, heat rose in your cheeks while never breaking eye contact with the man.
the guy with short cropped gray hair sitting next to him chuckled at whatever the comment was.
“what’s so funny connie?” sasha asked the gray haired man.
“your ugly ass face! sit down, we ordered shots.”
you tried not to laugh as two of you scooted into the booth, sasha swatted the back of connie’s head in revenge. you couldn’t hold in your laughter at this point and neither could the man next to connie, you both covered your mouths in an attempt to conceal your laughter.
“anyways” sasha said after composing herself while connie still held the back of his head in pain.
your friend went on to introduce you to the two men, jean and connie.
so this is jean.
the corner of jean’s mouth quirked up in a sly smile at the sound of your name leaving sasha’s lips. the man reached out to shake your hand in a laughably formal way, “so you're the one sasha’s been trying to get out of the house forever.”
you knew jean didn’t mean it in a rude way, he didn’t know that you just went through a gut wrenching break up but you couldn’t help but want to shrink into your skin at his playful words.
you pulled your hand from his, suddenly feeling thankful to the cocktail waitress who appeared at the table with a tray of shots.
sasha and connie hooped and hollered in excitement, quickly taking the shots from the waitress.
jean reached up, grabbing two shots from the tray, one for you and one for him. he politely slid yours across the table, your fingers accidentally brushed against his in the process of retrieving the small glass. you took a sharp breath in as heat rose to your cheeks once again. you internally chided yourself for letting yourself get so flustered. it had been quite a while since you last felt the touch of a man in any capacity.
you couldn’t blame yourself too much, jean was handsome, in a really charming sort of way. you could tell just by your short interaction that he was a sincere person, and he really was nice to look at. his ash brown hair framed his face perfectly, thick strands were tucked behind his ears, creating a mullet sort of look. you had never seen someone pull off a mullet so well.
connie and sasha were still bickering about god knows what, while you and jean kept your eyes on eachother, being in your own little world.
jean arched a brow at you playful as he raised his glass, “cheers too..” he took a moment to think about his next words, “cheers to making new friends.”
“too making new friends.” you said as your glasses clinked together.
————
weeks had passed since the night you met jean, and the two of you have been seeing each other more and more frequently as the days passed.
you were grateful for his presence, and your initial impression of him was correct, jean is a very sincere person.
after spending a decent amount of time together, you eventually told him about your breakup with levi and how it left you feeling. you were surprised at how gracious and gentle jean was with the whole situation. never once had he invalidated your feelings or rushed you into unwanted physical intimacy.
though it was hard for you to keep your hands off of him, you always felt the need to get close to him whether it be latching onto his arm while out in public, or crawling into his lap while watching TV. jean loved the attention of course, and always returned your affection, but he felt that he should hold back on being the first to initiate physical intimacy. jean just wanted to take things at the speed you were comfortable with and be respectful to your feelings. he knew how hard getting over someone could be, so jean made up his mind to take things as slow as you needed, because he would rather enjoy spending time with you, and doing things on your terms, than not be around you at all.
the days continued to fly by, the weeks turned into months, and you slowly felt the dull ache of your once broken heart grow numb. jean was still as patient and as steadfast with you as ever, and you were still in awe of his graciousness.
————
jean smiled down on you, while his hand brushed against the fabric of your dress, cradling the small of your back as the two of you walked into the swanky downtown restaurant. white table clothes covered every table, and the silverwave glistened under the dim light from the large chandelier hanging above.
you didn't realize that you would be going to such a fancy place until jean showed up at your door wearing a suit and tie. your breath hitched in your throat at the sight of him, his suit clung to his body in all the right places, his broad chest looked like it could bust out of that dress shirt at any moment. though you probably wouldn’t complain if it did, you tried not to gawk at his physique for too long, doing so would cause unholy thoughts to fill your mind.
once the two of you were seated, jean allowed the waiter to take his jacket, “thank you kindly.”
he said in his usual joking tone. jean rolled up the sleeves of his white dress shirt allowing you to get a full view of his large forearms. you instinctively clenched your thighs together under the table, in an attempt to quell the warmth pooling in your stomach. you cleared your throat awkwardly, “so what's the occasion? you still havent told me.”
jean smiled at you wholesomely, reaching across the table to grip your hand, “well, we have been seeing each other for a while and..” you blushed at the man, watching him try to collect his thoughts.
your gaze drifted away from jean’s smiling face to a figure moving around the bar positioned at the side of the room. your stomach dropped, you knew exactly who that familiar body belonged to. though you only had a view of the back of his head, you knew exactly who it was, you’d recognize him anywhere. you could be blindfolded in a crowd of a thousand people and still be able to pick levi out of the crowd. that's just how intimately familiar you were with the man.
jean continued talking but you couldn't hear a word. your brain was screaming out, not knowing what to think or how to process the sight before you. as if levi could hear the internal carnage taking place in your brain, he turned around, immediately locking eyes with you.
a dull sound rang loudly in your ears, seeing levi again reopened the wound in your heart that jean so diligently worked to seal. levi held your gaze, his face was totally void of emotion.
jean gripped your hand, noticing that your mind was elsewhere, “hey, are you okay?”
you disconnected the invisible string that connected you and levi in that moment, reverting your eyes back to jean, “im sorry, excuse me. gotta pee.” you said quickly with tear filled eyes.
jean sat confused as you dashed to the ladies room. you were grateful that the restroom was a single room with no stalls, allowing you to come completely apart in private. you immediately sank to the floor, completely forgetting to lock the door. you were a big ball of emotions on the floor, you tucked your head into your knees trying to block out the overwhelming feelings.
God, why did he have to be here? i was doing so good before seeing him.
your body shook, picturing the indifferent look on levi’s face when he saw you. it's like he was looking at a complete stranger that he shared no past with. did your relationship mean nothing to him? were your feelings one sided? had he ever cared for you at all?
the sound of your name broke the silence, your vision was blurry but you knew it was levi who was standing over you. did he look worried? you couldn't tell.
levi moved to lock the door before sitting down in front of you, gathering your body into his arms. you shook even harder now, hyperventilating into his chest. you missed how safe he made you feel.
his fingers traced shapes on your back, attempting to soothe you, “shh. shh. it's okay, you’re okay.”
after regaining control over your breathing you spoke into levi’s chest, “why’d you leave me levi?”
“what?” he said, pulling back so he could see your face.
“why. tell me why.” you said, looking at the man with pleading eyes.
a beat passed as levi analyzed your face, “i thought it was for the best.”
you felt yourself grow irritated, “best for who levi?”
levi gritted his teeth, “you. i thought it would be best for you.. you deserve someone who understands their feelings, and knows how to communicate them properly.” your mind instantly pictured jean, who probably thought you had fallen into the toilet by now.
anger began to bubble in your chest, “bullshit.” levi crooked his head to the side, as if he didn’t understand your words, “what?”
“bullshit.” you said again, attempting to push him off you. Levi didn't budge, still holding your body to his with little effort.
you pushed harder feeling even angrier now, “i hate you!”
levi didn’t respond, he only stared at your tear streaked face as if he was internally trying to make some sort of decision. levi gave you no time to process his next actions, he quickly scooped your face into his hands, pulling your lips to his. your body worked before your mind did, in returning the kiss. the two of you were desperate, your lips and teeth clashed together sloppily while your tongues fought for dominance.
levi slid his hands up your back and around to your chest, you moaned into his mouth when he pulled the top of your dress down exposing your nipples to the cold air.
without breaking the kiss, you moved to straddle levi’s waist rolling your hips on his clothed cock.
this time levi let out a groan into your mouth, you finally broke the kiss to look into his eyes as you raked your fingers through his hair. “fuck, ‘missed you.” he said breathlessly.
you ground your hips against his pants even quicker, your cunt was in desperate need of stimulation.
Levi smiled at you, taking a nipple between his fingers and rolling it causing your head to fall back in pleasure, “you look so pretty like this, sweet girl.” he said as he slid his free hand up your dress, working your needy clit over your panties. you couldn't help but moan out loud, it was all too much.
“i know you want to tell the world how much you missed me, but i need you to stay quiet okay?” you only nodded in response, still riding his fingers chasing your orgasm.
you couldn't wait anymore, you reached down to work levi’s belt off. levi chuckled while you hastily worked at freeing his cock from his trousers, lovingly placing a kiss into your hair. he loved seeing you so needy for him.
once you pulled the band of his boxers down his cock immediately sprang straight up. you wasted no time, immediately sheathing yourself on levi’s cock. you both moaned in unison at the sensation. you had almost forgot how big levi was, having to go incredibly slow fearful of overstimulation. you buried your head into the crook of his neck when he began to suck on your nipple, mewling sweet sounds into his ear.
Levi grew tired of your safe and slow motions, deciding to stand up with his cock still buried deep inside you and set you down on the edge of the bathroom sink. It was a stark contrast between the two of you where levi was almost fully clothed, your dress was pooled at your waist leaving you completely exposed.
you hooked your legs around levi’s hips and held onto the sink tightly, putting yourself on full display for him. “so fucking pretty.” he said admirably. levi held your face in his hands once more, placing a long languid kiss on your lips as he pulled all the way out and rammed deep into your cunt. your face contorted in intense pleasure while you tried to conceal the sound of your moans.
levi’s cock banged against your g-spot mercilessly causing you to cum hard, your pussy fluttered quickly around levi’s cock evoking a strained groan from his throat, cumming at the same time as you. levi pulled you into a tight embrace as you rode out your orgasm, placing another kiss into your hair.
you slowly came back to reality, as you were listening to the heartbeat in levi’s chest.
you both winced when levi finally pulled out of you, he tucked his cock back into his pants and helped you right your now very wrinkled dress.
you noticed levi staring at you with a somber look on his face, “i’m so sorry for what i put you through, but what i said wasn’t bullshit. It was true.”
your mind was brought back to jean, guilt washed over you. jean was such a good guy and you just fucked your ex-boyfriend in the middle of your date.
panic began to set in as you thought, what am i going to do about jean?

the sound of chains rattling woke you from your already restless slumber, being reminded of your uncomfortable confinement as you blinked fog out of your eyes. you were greeted with the heart wrenching view of levi’s limp form being held up by the wrists from the heavy chains hanging from the stone ceiling.
the man’s black hair was disheveled, creating a dark shadow over his eyes while his head hung over his bare chest. he was finally able to sleep, exhausted from hours of torture. you were surprised when levi had demanded to be tortured in your place, he claimed that you were just a clueless cadet that knew nothing of the scout regiment’s plans. his statement was only half true, you were a cadet, but you weren’t clueless.
levi never kept secrets from you, you were the only person in the regiment that was able to gain the captain’s trust. though, you never knew how or why you were able to gain levi’s favor, you never questioned it. you eyed the captain’s body from the corner that you were chained to.
you felt grateful that you were given a long chain that allowed you some freedom to move.
you couldn’t tell how long you were out, but you figured it must’ve been a while. you tried to silently inch forward in levi’s direction desperately wanting to console him in whatever way you could. the closer you got, the more apparent levi’s wounds became in the low light. deep cuts and slashes were scattered across his pale skin, you took in a sharp breath as you grazed your fingers over his abdomen trying to access the damage.
you had never been so close to levi before, the two of you always kept at a safe distance, not wanting to intrude on each other's boundaries.
your fingers slid over his chiseled abdomen lightly, while you internally chided yourself for never telling the man how you really felt. you wished you could say that it was all the time you spent together that caused you to love him, but that would be a lie. you knew that you loved levi the second you locked eyes with him years ago. you could still remember how his cold eyes and quizzical brow softened when his eyes met yours, it was like the two of you caught onto the same wavelength and never let go since that moment.
your daydream was cut short, levi’s head shot up, groaning loudly into the large gag jammed into his mouth. the crazed look in his eye slowly subsided when he realized that it was you that was caressing his body. you shushed levi, reaching up to cup his blood splotched face, “shh.. it’s me. it’s me. you’re okay.” you reached up to remove the damp cloth out of levi’s mouth, he coughed and sputtered at its removal.
levi’s chest heaved up and down quickly looking at you with half lidded eyes, “hi.” was all he could manage.
you couldn’t help but laugh as you drug your thumb across his cheek. tears pricked your eyes as you looked at the man fondly, your heart swole with love, “hi captain.”
levi leaned into your touch as much as the chains would let him, the two of you stood in silence while his gray eyes bore into yours.
heat rose to your cheeks as you tried to cultivate the bravery to confess to levi how you’ve felt about him all this time. you didn’t know if the two of you would ever make it out of this stone lined hell-hole, and you didn’t want to die letting your words go unsaid. you were never good at putting your thoughts and feelings into words, you were not an articulate poet, you were a soldier. how could you tell him that you loved everything about him?
you loved every little thing about levi. you loved his stern glares. you loved his love for earl grey tea, the way he sucked his teeth when irritated, the way he had the ability to be as strong as a hundred year old oak tree, and as swift as a feral alley cat. you loved how he was effortlessly good at everything, and didn’t chide you when nothing seemed to come easily to you.
the silence was finally broken from levi calling your name. the man realized that your mind was far away, “we don’t have much time, they'll be back any minute.” your eyes lost their glaze as your brain returned to the moment, paying close attention to levi’s words, “i don’t want to scare you but i have to be truthful, my body will probably give out after this next round of lashings. it’s very unlikely that i’ll make it out of here, but that doesn’t mean you can’t. my only priority is keeping you alive, because i-“ his words were cut short at the sound of a key turning in the iron lock of your cell.
a stocky middle aged man dressed in a military police uniform entered the room, locking the door behind him, “unless you want what he’s having i suggest you get back to your corner before i shorten your chain.” if looks could kill, the man would certainly be dead. you inched backwards never breaking eye contact with the MP, while levi kept his gaze on you.
the MP retrieved a leather whip out of his standard issue coat, not bothering to re-gag levi as he positioned himself at the captain's back. your heart pounded in your chest while your mind ran at a thousand miles per hour, desperately trying to think of a way to free levi. you knew levi wouldn’t survive not even ten lashes, he had already lost too much blood.
levi kept his eyes on you, letting out a deep breath readying himself for what would come next, “i was going to say..” levi took a moment to collect his thoughts not wanting to say the wrong thing, “i was going to say that i love you. i’ve always loved you. i’m sorry i didn’t say it sooner.”
you were at a complete loss for words, you never imagined that levi would reciprocate your feelings. you wanted to say ‘i love you too’ but you were in too much shock to form coherent words. before you could respond the MP laughed as he wound the whip around his fist, “ah how sweet. he loves you, now the pretty girl gets to see her lover beaten to death. how romantic.” you glared at the man laughing behind levi, telling yourself that if you had the chance to kill this man you wouldn’t hesitate.
the man lifted the whip above his head and quickly brought it down on levi’s back. a strange sound came out of your mouth as levi’s body jumped from the impact. blood splattered against the whip and the man’s hand. you couldn’t help but scream when the man lifted his hand again, afraid that this could be the blow to end levi’s life.
the MP clumsily lost his grip on the whip as he brought it down, sending it flying just a couple of feet away from you. you didn’t waste a second, immediately reaching down to grip the whip. the man tried to rush you, which only made it easier for you to land a blow across his face. the whip made a sharp snap sound at the contact of his skin. blood gushed from the man’s face as he yelled out in pain, staggering around blindly gripping his face.
you jumped on this man’s back, using your chained wrists to choke the man out. the man fell to his knees but you didn’t relent, you tightened your grip until his body went still. levi was barely conscious, you spoke to him in a pleading tone as you snagged the keys from the man’s coat, “i need you to stay awake levi! i’m getting us out of here just stay awake for me!”
sweat beaded on your forehead as you hastily released your wrists from the confines of the iron cuffs, quickly making your way over to levi. humanity’s strongest solider was barely clinging to life when you unlocked his cuffs. you slung levi’s arm over your shoulder while you tried to make a quick and silent escape. there was no telling how many MP’s could be lurking around this compound. you needed to find a horse quickly.
levi groaned in your ear as you pulled your bodies forward through the stone paved corridors. you followed the flame torches that lined the walls hoping that it would lead you to the outside world. you figured that it must be late in the night since you hadn’t run into any other MP’s on your journey.
the two of you finally made it to a thick wooden door, you prayed that it led outside as you twisted the knob. the cool night air poured over your skin, you let out a sigh of relief as you gripped onto levi tighter, “we’re gonna be okay, just gotta find a horse.” you said as you spotted the stables just a few yards away.
you hurriedly pulled levi’s limping body through the stables seeking out a horse that could easily carry the two of you back to base. levi was still breathing heavily into your neck feeling tired and delusional from the blood loss, “i’m sorry. i’m sorry i couldn’t be the one to save us.” you shushed the man while you decided upon a large black horse near the stable doors, “shh. save your energy. you’ve done enough.” you said as you helped ready him to board the horse.
you were surprised that levi still had enough strength to pull himself onto the horse, he swung himself onto the horse clumsily and you quickly followed suit by settling yourself in front of him so you could guide the horse. you finally felt a sense of safety when levi wrapped his arms around your waist, resting his head in the crook of your neck. you smiled at his action as you snapped at the reins sending the horse galloping forward.
_______
levi never did much sleeping, you thought about this as you felt your anxiety grow as you watched him rest peacefully under the white sheets. you were afraid that he lost too much blood. afraid that he might not wake up. you paced around the captain’s room not knowing what to do with yourself as you waited for him to show any signs of life.
levi’s voice broke through the silence, “can you please come sit the fuck down, i can hear your loud ass thoughts from over here.” he said in a groggy voice. you couldn’t help the pure excitement that took over your body, you quickly returned to levi’s side. you reached to grip the man’s hand as you pressed your forehead to his, you felt breathless and overcome with joy that the love of your life was alive and well right in front of you.
levi smiled under you, gripping your face, finally closing the distance between your lips. his kiss was strong and resilient, just like the love you had for him. your tongues clashed together fervently, never being able to get enough of each other. his kiss was a place that you could get lost in forever. like home. you never wanted to leave this spot, you wanted to stay in his arms forever with his lips wrapped softly around yours.
you tried not to protest when levi broke the kiss. your foreheads still rested against each other as he looked into your eyes, “you don’t know how long i’ve wanted to do that.” he said breathlessly.

Levi Ackerman x Reader
This is my first post so I’m sorry if I’ve formatted this wrong or something I’m still learning the ropes. I figured my first fic would be about Levi Ackerman cause he’s hot and I’m kind of obsessed with him rn. I won’t post things sometimes cause I have college (UK version), sport clubs and work sooo some updates might be slow. Anyways please enjoy I don’t mind constructive criticism (although I’d rather you didn’t because I do this for fun and it would kind of take some of the joy from it, but if you think you could help me improve then please let me know) but I beg no rude comments this is for fun cause I love writing.
Summary: You’ve been missing for three weeks outside of the wall on an expedition that went bad. Very bad. It’s a surprise to everyone when you turn up outside the wall still alive and critically wounded
Warnings: slight angst, violence, swearing, mild graphic descriptions of injury, Levi having a mild tea relapse
Also this story is long so be prepared
Disclaimer: I don’t own Attack on Titan or any of its characters (but it would be amazing if I did), I also don’t own you (obviously) or the gif below

Holding On
Levi sat in his office.
It was dimly lit with candles that flickered in their bronze stands, his reports all stacked neatly to one side to be dealt with later. The rain outside hammering down on the office window like tears the heavens sent their grief and misery onto the unsuspecting world below. The tiny beads of crystal water rolling down the cool glass and sliding to the ground where scouts rushed to get inside, the sky a haunting grey thick with dismal clouds, not allowing the sun any chance to warm the faces of the shivering people.
Levi couldn’t care less about his subordinates rushing past his door to get to the fire places to warm their frozen hands. Instead he took pleasure in drumming his fingers on the polished wood of his desk, the rhythm the only noise he could hear as his fingers continued to move up and down. His chin rested on his other hand, the elbow propped up on the arm rest of his chair, jaw set firmly in a grimace as his mind continued to unrestlessly ponder over the one thing that had consumed his for the last three weeks.
Where where you?
He’d be damned if he said you were dead. Your body left for those brutes, the Titans, to feast on. No you weren’t dead. You had been one of the best cadets he had ever seen although he would never admit it, and you were capable of taking care of yourself. You always had been. But still... the training he provided could only offer so much compared to what actually lay outside the walls. The wooden cut outs of those lumbering beasts was child’s play when up against their actual counterparts.
Three weeks alone outside was a death sentence to almost anyone, even the best of the best could not go that long. ODM gear needed gas to work, how could anyone go three weeks on one canister? Not to mention blades, only equipped with so many and they broke so often...with these facts it seemed almost too likely you were dead.
Levi squeezed his eyes shut briefly, the drumming on the desk intensified as the grip on his chin tightened. No. He refused to believe it until he was given proof. Being unrealistic was not in his nature, but when it came to the woman he loved he was prepared to go as far as believe the impossible. He had a girlfriend, many had conceived that that in itself was impossible, but alas they were proven wrong, they would be proven wrong again.
Still it was hard to ignore the whispers, the rumours and the looks of sympathy he recieved from the other scouts. That you were dead. That you had been lost with your squadron and were never coming back, that his denial was foolish. He would only glare and the whispers would stop, but it would get to him. It always did.
He had so little in this world that he cared for. To have his lover ripped from him as well was more then he could handle, he didn’t want to be alone in the coldness and disparity of what the universe had left to offer him. His life had been no joy ride the only thing that made it worth living was knowing you were in it with him.
It never helped that Erwin was so persistent in trying to get him to sign you off as deceased. The commander begging Levi to look at the facts and have you officially written off, Levi made a small ‘tch’ noise at the thought of his commander pushing him to sign his girlfriend’s death certificate. Bastards. The lot of them.
Standing from his chair he paced over to the window, his half lidded eyes reflected in the thoroughly cleaned glass, the splashes of raindrops mirroring where tears should be falling from his eyes. He wouldn’t cry. He refused to cry over someone who was still alive. He knew that if he cried it would become real, he needed to hang on to the hope that you were coming home, that you would be in his arms again. If he showed weakness, if he bowed to his anxiety and fears it would consume him. He would not allow it.
His thoughts were ripped from him when he heard a knock on his door. He stayed perfectly still, his eyes shifting to where the oak door stood. He really did not want company right now. He didn’t even feel like drinking tea which was serious in his case. Growling to himself he dragged the green velvet curtain across the window to hide the misery of the outside world before seating himself back in his chair.
“Name and business.” he drawled.
“Levi?” a voice called out, it took all his strength not to roll his eyes “it’s me.”
“What is it Hange?” he grumbled.
“I bought you some tea.” she said, her tone missing it’s usual spark and insanity.
“Not interested, now go away I have paperwork.” he replied pinching the bridge of his nose trying to hold his frustration, he knew she was hurting too, he didn’t want to snap he wasn’t in the mood. He knew why she was really here. He hadn’t spoken to anyone apart from Erwin for weeks. Hange would understand his wanted space but only for a certain amount of time before she felt like she needed to intervene. He didn’t want to be told he was being stupid for believing you were alive, because he already knew it.
“Please Levi, I need to talk to you.” Hange pleaded from the other side of the door “I’m worried about you.”
“Don’t be.” he growled “I don’t need your pity.”
“Please?”
“I said no. Goddammit. Just leave me alone Four eyes.” he snapped, his free hand banging against the desk causing the picture frame on it to wobble and fall.
There was a brief silence and Levi selfishly hoped Hange had accepted defeat and walked away. But he knew her better then that. She was friends with you for a reason: you were both annoyingly stubborn.
“(Y/n) was my friend too. You don’t think I’m not ok?”
Lifting his head from his hand he stared at the door where the Section Commander stood behind. He could imagine her standing pathetically outside, a cup of tea in her hands and tears rolling down her freckled face. He glanced over at the fallen frame and reached forward to pick it up, the drawing on the other side causing his heart to skip beats, the breath hitching in in his throat forming a lump.
(a/n idk if they have photos in AOT but just imagine it was taken by those old fashioned ones that seems to fit)
It was a photo taken on your first date. Hange had found an old camera, or so they had called it in the old days, and had decided to capture the moment. Levi could be seen yelling at Hange to stop as (y/n) hid behind the collar of her jacket, the picture was fuzzy and in black and white, but it was a memory that still stayed clear in his head. If he was lucky he would dream about that night, but only in the occasion he actually went to sleep. Levi felt a small yet sad smile work it’s way onto his face as he could recall the fun he had that evening and the many more that came. Maybe...would never come again.
Hange had been one of your best friends. The two of you inseparable, he had realised that she was part of the package deal that came with dating you, although it was a small price to pay if it meant he could wake up to you beside him every morning. He knew you would be angry with him if he let Hange suffer by herself, he had an obligation to Hange for you. Otherwise he would never endure her alone. It’s what you would want. No. No past tense talk. You weren’t dead.
Pushing the thought to the back of his mind he placed the photo onto his desk and stood up from his chair once again, his legs carrying him over to the door before unlocking it and revealing the puffy, red face of Hange. The brunette was a mess, bits of hair falling out of her ponytail into her face, her jacket zipper not done up properly and her goggles swung around her neck. Levi stared at her, his expression unamused as she pushed her way in and placed herself on the leather sofa.
Levi watched her, his hand still resting on the bronze door handle before sighing and closing it shut behind him, returning to his desk chair he chose to not look at her before elegantly placing him self back into it. Hange pulled some tissues from her sleeve and blew her nose, causing Levi to scruch up his own in response. He had cleaned this office every day you had been missing to relive his mind from the stress, he didn’t it want it to be cluttered with Hange’s snot filled rags. He reached down and slid a small waste basket across the floor where it stopped by her feet. He might be distraught over you but that was no reason he would stop being hygienic. Not yet.
“I thought you said you had tea.” he said dryly, she smiled weakly and dabbed her eyes.
“I lied. I didn’t think you’d let me in if I didn’t have any.” she answers her voice thick with snot.
“What did you plan to do if I had wanted the tea?” he asked exasperated.
“Umm...I- I hadn’t thought that far through.” she muttered tossing the slimy tissue into the bin more snot and tears running down her cheeks.
“Tch.” Levi scoffed rolling his eyes and grabbing the tissues from his desk throwing them at Hange, they proceeded to hit her in the head and roll into her lap “at least try to look respectable while covered in your own filth.”
“I just miss her so much...” she bawled, Levi watched her carefully, his heart aching as much as hers but in a less dramatic and disgusting way.
“She’s coming back Hange.” Levi replied glancing back at the photo, his eyes softening ever so slightly “she’s still out there. It’s just a matter of time.”
“Her mission was only supposed to take three days max...she’s been gone much longer...” Hange snivelled, her breathing irregular and loud “we sent multiple search parties by your request and still didn’t find anything.”
“They just didn’t look hard enough.” Levi argued turning away from her.
“Levi...they searched as far as they could.”
“That’s not good enough.” he growled, his fists clenching “if Erwin had let me search too we would have found her...the stupid brat...she can take care of herself alright.”
“I know she can Levi...” Hange answered beginning to calm down, her nose red and eyes swollen as she pulled out another tissue, Levi raised a brow slightly as he turned back to face her rubbing his face with his hand “you taught her well. But, there’s a point when...w-when training just isn’t enough.”
Her voice cracked as another wave of water works over came her, her doe brown eyes brimming with salty tears again grabbing another tissue. Levi countied to watch her, his mind to numb to notice the mess she was making on his leather sofa as she tried to clean it off by rubbing it with her hand only making it worse, she quickly sat infront if it before Levi could notice.
Even Hange, the optimist, believed you were dead. He refused to look at her sorry state, he couldn’t understand why Hange would turn her back on you, one of her best friends. He wasn’t ready to give up hope yet.
“You’re wrong Hange,” he said plainly, she glanced up at him pulling the damp tissue away from her face “(y/n) is alive. You’re failure to continue believing that is pathetic. No other brat has her experience, experience outranks skill and any amount of training. If she doesn’t survive this no one can, not even me. I’m not going to believe she’s dead because we both know she’s not, you just refuse to see past that. You can either sit here snivelling and continue crying like a damned child, or you can grow the hell up. Either way it’s no bother to me, so long as you stop blubbering and telling me she’s gone.”
Hange stated at him, her lip quivering as she held her hands below her face in fists, her body shaking slightly as his harsh and cold tone pierced her wall of self pity and grief. Her fingers shakily pushing her glasses up her nose and pulling the stands of her hair back into place, correcting her zipper and blowing her nose one last time. Deep, deep down she knew Levi was just as broken as her, just as distraught and worried. The man hadn’t slept more then two hours a night at best, she knew he was hurting, he just showed it in his own Levi way: to bottle it up. She wouldn’t play into his fantasy, sure she would help him however he needed, but to continue the facade was going to get him nowhere. Levi needed to let go. She had to tell him now or she never would. She knew she would break his spirit completely, but Erwin had told her to tell Levi, even if it sent the Corporal into a fit of anger.
“Levi...” she whispered, raising her head to meet his steely gaze “the papers were signed an hour ago. She’s legally proclaimed dead.”
His heart froze. His face expressionless. Hange felt scared more then she ever had been. No Titan could ever instill fear like the stiffness and sudden silence of the Corporal. He eye twitching and his icy glare hardened.
No.
No.
No.
No.
It couldn’t be. He hadn’t even filed the report for that, as (y/n)’a direct superior he was the only one who could green light the authorisation. Erwin needed his signature too to warrant her death certificate. He tried to breath, was he breathing? No he didn’t think he was. There wasn’t any air. He slammed his fists down onto the table again causing Hange to jump violently as Levi grabbed his quill ink and launched it across the room, the onyx liquid crashing to the floor sending streaks of it across the walls and floors. He leaned into his hands, tears leaking down his pale cheeks, the droplets landing on his shiny desk as he silently wept.
“Erwin had your authority on it overruled by an official.” Hange continued her voice catching in her throat “she was declared dead an hour ago.”
Levi has stopped listening, his mind no longer functioning properly. His head was light, like he was on morphine, the world didn’t feel real. He was dreaming he had to be, this wasn’t real, it was all one bad dream he would wake soon to find you next to him. He would hear you laugh as he grumbled a good morning, he would smell your shampoo on his bedsheets, he would get to run his fingers through your (h/c) hair again. He would get to wrap his arms around your slim hips and steal secret kisses again and again for the rest of his life.
The tears wouldn’t stop. He couldn’t make them. He wasn’t in control.
“He can’t do that...” he growled wiping his eyes dry, standing uprubtly he grabbed his cloak from the coat hanger and placed it over his shoulders, Hange stood too.
“Where is he?”
“Levi don’t...”
“If you don’t tell me where the fuck he is Four eyes I will see to it that your head is removed from your fucking shoulders.” he barked his reserved persona dissipating. Hange’s eyes quivered as she watched the Corporal’s eyes flash with seething white anger.
“Helping on Wall Maria...surveying the outside...east from here.” she stammered her nerves shot, Levi nodded.
“What are you gonna do?” she asked hoarsely.
Levi opened the door before glancing back at her, his grey eyes holding danger beneath their stormy exterior.l before exiting his office slamming the heavy door behind him. Rushing down the corridor pulling the emerald hood over his raven hair he made his way to the stables to ready his horse.
...
Levi landed on top of Wall Maria pulling the grappling hooks from the old stone wall as he did, causing the scouts around him to jump. Their once bright green cloaks turned an unflattering dark fern as the onslought of rain hounded the freezing humans. They saluted once they recognised who he was, he ignored them, his eyes locked on the tall blonde man before him staring through a pair of binoculars. Pushing his way past the scouts he made his way over, fighting the vicious winds that pulled him back.
“You bastard!” he yelled over the rain, Erwin turned to face the small man, his expression falling into one of distress as he saw his friend march over.
“Corporal, you’re not supposed to be here.” Erwin replied, Levi growled.
“And you’re not supposed to sign her fucking death warrant!” he yelled back, Erwin visibly flinched his eyes glazing over with a dull sadness before he turned away raising the binoculars to his eyes once again.
“It was the best decision, we couldn’t leave an open case.” Erwin responded as Levi cast his eyes to the outside the rain and fog too heavy to see more then five hundreds meters “she’s dead Ackerman. Accept it.”
Whether it was the abhorrent weather or the grief that had torn him apart, maybe it was the slight insomnia, maybe even the admitted tea relapse, Levi didn’t know what he was doing until he had done it. Erwin was sent flying across the ground, Levi’s fist out in front of him his breathing laboured and strained. He watched as Erwin tumbled dangerously close to the edge of the wall, his scouts coming forward to help him stand. The Commander’s face smeared in thick blood, his nose bent at an unnatural angle, the rain washing away any fallen drops of sticky scarlet liquid.
Levi stood straight pulling his arm back under his cloak, his hood having been blown back, his dark hair beginning to be quickly drenched by the rain, the wind howling in protest as it was pushed into high speeds. The scouts helping Erwin up shot Levi curious looks before resuming post. Erwin glowered at his Corporal who stood grounded, his stance passive his back hunched slightly as his shoulders dropped in defeat. It was then Erwin noticed the tears that ran down his friends face.
In the rain it was easy to overlook, but Erwin knew. He could see the tears run down his cheeks and land on the floor, any hostility was swept away as the two men stood opposite each other. The wind billowing through their cloaks, pressing unwanted kisses into their frozen skin, Levi’s fingers curled into fists as he continued to stare at the floor, he raised a hand to his face still covered in blood and wiped it across his cheek smearing himself in Erwin’s blood.
Erwin could only watch. Humanity’s strongest broken before him. Nothing but a man crying for the loss of his loved one. Levi would think he was being weak. Erwin had seen men cry over much less, to see Levi condemned to tears was humbling.
Levi has lost more in under half his life span then anyone person lost in their entirety. Levi has been dealt bad hands since he could walk, the world had left him one good thing to savour, to protect and cherish and just as quickly as it had given it to him, it had taken back. Levi was not weak. It took years of torture before he would ever breakdown, and it seemed that he could no longer bare the weight.
He truly felt he had nothing left to live for.
Erwin’s heart beat faster in his ribs as he watched the stoic man cry and before Levi could protest he was engulfed in an embrace.
He gasped as Erwin pulled him close into his body, the small man too stunned to do anything. He didn’t have the strength to pull away, he didn’t have the willpower. There was no point in fighting the affection no matter how little he wanted it. There was nothing left to do but cry. It was over. She was legally proclaimed dead and despite his stubborness, despite him always believing she was alive, everyone else would speak in past tense about her, they would speak like she were deceased, they would mourn if they already hadn’t, they would give her a headstone, they would truly believe she was gone.
“I loved her...” Levi whispered his voice breaking, his arms by his side as Erwin held him tightly.
“I know.” the commmader replied “I know.”
“Commander!”
A voice tore its way through the wind reaching the ears of the two men who ripped away from each other. The scout who had shouted was pointing to something beyond the wall.
“What is it? Titans?” he yelled back brining his own binoculars up to his face. Levi turned away, his mind to strained to care about what was happening, his hands brushed over the hilts of his swords, his eyes dull and lifeless as he glanced back to Erwin getting ready to return to his horse below.
“Corporal! What do you make of this?” a scout yelled to him, sighing Levi turned around to see the entire group staring out at a dark shape making its way slowly towards the wall. Curious, Levi walked up to the edge beside Erwin who handed him his binoculars, Levi stared at them.
“It’s got to be a Titan!”
“No it’s too small and slow!”
“What else could it be?”
“I don’t know but I’ve never seen a titan move like that, it’s too elegant!”
“It looks...it looks like a horse!”
“There’s someone on it!”
Without hesitation Levi snatched the binoculars from Erwin’s hand and placed them over his own eyes. Looking down to where the others were he could see the unmistakable shape of a horse walking slowly toward the wall, ontop of it was a cloaked figure, the fabric torn and stained in what appeared to be blood. Locks of (h/c) hair were flying out from underneath, the figure slumped in the saddle slightly, one hand steering the horse the other clutching their left side.
“It’s a scout!”
“Can you see who?”
“Not yet.”
Levi felt his heart beat faster, the air suddenly drowning him as a new wave of hope and adrenaline rushed through his veins. He continued to stare through the binoculars as tb figure got closer, it was becoming clearer now. The horse a dapple grey, the rider...the riders hood had fallen back...
“It’s Captain (y/l/n)!”
“She’s alive?”
“Holy shit.”
A strained gasp escaped his lips as he shoved the binoculars back into Erwin’s hands.
“Get those damn gates open now!” Levi yelled is voice echoing into the endless hills around, the scouts jumped to work rushing towards the gates to open them.
Levi could only keep his eyes on your figure as it came closer, the horse picking up stamina as he saw he was nearly home. Levi could see you much clearer now, you were hunched over yourself clutching a great bloody mass seeping though your dirtied white shirt, your scout jacket caked in layers of blood and filth. Your hair a tangled mess as it blew across your face, the wind pushing harder almost causing you to tumble to the ground, clutching the reins tighter you mustered one last kick to your horse’s sides as he picked up the pace.
You glanced up, your joints creaking in protest as your tiered eyes caught sight of the blurred figures standing on the wall. Home. You were back home. Tensing slightly as another gust of violent wind tried to pull you away, you clenched your jaw in pain as your shivering hands tried to put pressure on the huge hole in your side, the blood warm and sticky as it seeped through your shirt, staining your horses grey coat in red.
Your body numb from the cold, your fingertips tinted an ugly purple colour, your joints crying in pain to stop, to just give up. You glanced back at your side where you could see muscle tissue peaking out, the skin torn and shredded where a Titan had tried to devour you just twenty minutes ago. If you move your fingers slightly you could feel whatvfelt like an organ. Your ribs broken and your left toe dislocated. You probably had more injuries that were invisible to the untrained eye, huge black bruises littered your body and your mind was all but shut down.
Your horse made it closer to the gate which was now up, the wall inviting you in closer to the security of your home. Levi was waiting on the other side of that wall. He was probably worried sick, you hated the idea of him not eating or sleeping over you. But you didn’t have time to ponder about your boyfriend’s lack of self care over you, you already knew he would be angry with you. He’ll never let you out of his sight again, he would berate you, tell you the torture you put him through was Hell and then some. You could already hear his voice, you could already feel his warm lips pressed against you own, you could already smell the lemon and mint on his breath. If you were going for die...you would die thinking of him.
Your horse entered the wall, the creaking chains behind you wailing as the gate was promptly ceadled shut. All you could hear was the shouts of voices, the sounds all merging together into a high pitched ringing, you glanced around trying to make sense of what was happening as a sea of green cloaks billowed around you, your head swimming. You could make out a tall blonde shouting orders as everyone rushed around, looking up you could see supply kits being passed around, someone grabbed your horse. You felt a flood of heat make its way through your stomach, a thickness in your throat before leaning forward and coughing blood onto a scout below you, the taste of rust in your mouth as blood dripped from your cracked lips.
“Sorry,” you whispered to the scout now covered in your blood, before a final wave of exhaustion washed through you, your hand that had gripped the reins so tightly finally ceasing their hold and your feet dropping from the stirrups, you fell from your horse into a pair of strong arms.
Glancing up through half closed eyes you caught a blurred glimpse of steely grey eyes, the owner barking orders at the flurry of scouts as he began to walk you away from the commotion. He was saying something but you couldn’t hear him, his voice just a series of low pitched sound as he held you tightly to his firm chest, his arms secured around you promising to never let you fall.
Then everything faded into black.
...
Pain.
That was all you felt. A dull ache radiating throughout your bones, your joints stiff and unbending, your muscles twitching and cramping at the slightest movement. Breathing was laboured, your chest stung at every push and pull of your lungs, the air in your nose and mouth raspy as you fought for the right to breath. Your eyelids were heavy as you tried to force them open, screaming to be closed a few minutes longer. Gathering the last ounce of strength you pushed them open to be greeted by the wooden ceiling of the infirmary, the white hospital sheets around your body preventing you from seeing any of the damage inflicted on your body.
Groaning in agony your bit your lip to prevent a scream was you tried to sit up, bandages covering against every part below your neck to your waist. A faint red stain could be seen on the side and you wondered what resided beneath? Perhaps an ugly scar. You squeezed your eyes shut at the thought as you tried to push it from your mind. You breathlessly leaned your head against the headboard, looking around to see that curtains had been drawn around you to give you privacy. You weren’t going to lie you were grateful they had considered that you wouldn’t want to be seen like this.
The incredible Captain (y/l/n) laying weakened and alsmot dying in the infirmary. What would your squad say? That was when it hit you. They couldn’t say anything. Not anymore. The visions of them being desimated by the titans still ran clear in your mind like an endless river of nightmares. You shuddered violently causing another surge of pain to crash into your system. You brought a hand up to rake through your now washed and detangled hair but found it was caught in a vice like grip.
Glancing down you felt your body relax ever so slightly. Your mind stopped the galavanting thoughts that plagued your mind and slowed, allowing you to take in everything at once. And by everything you meant the man in the chair who’s hand was tightly wrapped around yours.
Levi was leant back in a chair beside your bed, one hand propping his chin up and the other still desperately clutching your own. He was so peaceful, his usual frown and stoic expressions wiped clean, his face just relaxed as he snored lightly, his ebony hair falling over his closed eyes as his chest would rise and fall. You watched him. Your eyes never wanting to take themselves away. The rest of the world falling away as the both of you were left to your own heaven as your eyes bored into his sleeping form, he was here. He was here, sat beside you holding your hand.
It took all your strength not to wake him up, to be joined by his company. But you knew it was probably the first time he had slept in a long while, you had done that to him so you would let him sleep. It was the least you owed him and besides, you were perfectly content watching him sleep. Three weeks you had been surviving the outside world, only your horse for company and you supposed the Titans would count as some form of company, if company meant being seen as an appetiser. You shuddered violently at the memory of being in the trees, trying to sleep as the titans below tried to reach up and climb the smooth bark. You had cited more times in the past three weeks then you had in your entire lifetime, the weather had not been kind either, your fingers almost shattering from the icy temperatures. Food had been impossible to find, you had even considered eating your horse at some points, but he had been loyal and was your only escape from Titans.
You felt your hand grip Levi’s tighter as the horrors came flooding back. The screams of your team mates the feeling of being alone, the world hopeless and against you. You had some nights where you had dreamt you were back in HQ, in Levi’s arms or eating lunch with Hange, or helping Petra with the horses. You had dreamt of the security and family you thought you would never see again. Everyday had been hell. You had been to hell. You had seen hell. You didn’t know if you would ever be prepared to step foot out there again.
“Ah, you’re awake finally.”
Jolting from your thoughts you glanced up to see the nurse, her long white skirts covered in small splayterings of blood, her ginger hair pinned under a nurse cap. She held the curtains back in one hand, a warm smile on her face as she clutched a food tray in her other arm. She set the tray down on the bedside table and closed the curtain again before returning to your side. Another nurse entered behind her, a much younger one with brown hair and bright green eyes.
“You’re awake!” she exclaimed quite loudly causing you to cringe your head still sore “oh sorry, I’ll go and get the Commander!”
You assumedshe was a trainee nurse as she left in a flurry of feet and exited the med wing. The ginger nurse turned back to you a smile on her face.
“Dislocated toes, broken ribs, multiple bruising not to mention slight frost bite and a concussion. You’re a trooper.” she said warmly her brown eyes dimming slightly when she saw that you were not smiling, clearing her throat she continued “the left side of your torso has some serious injury, the stitches can only do so much to hold some of your organs in, the skin will heal by itself but it will leave permanent scarring.”
“What else is new?” you asked pointing to multiple scars that already littered your body from years of training gone wrong and fighting, earning a small chuckle from the nurse as she stepped forward.
“How are we feeling?” she asked softly as she gently took your arms in hers checking your pulse “your pulse is much stronger, it was hardly beating when you came to us.”
You nodded, your head still slightly fuzzy, your eyes glancing over to Levi who still hadn’t stirred. He must have been tiered if he hadn’t woken up at the nurse’s intrusion. You glanced back up to meet her eyes and you could see the warmth in them as she pulled a stethoscope from her apron pocket and leant over you, pressing the cool metal to your chest.
“He’s been here the whole time.” she said softly “he refused to leave your side, it took five men to try and stop him and let the doctors work and even that didn’t prevent him. He must really care for you.”
“Yeah,” you breathed letting your thumb rub against the back of his hand, your heart flittering and the first real warmth you felt for a while spread through you body “what-what happened?”
“It’s quite a story. From what I heard the moment you got into the wall you collapsed from your horse into his arms,” the nurse said glancing up from her report files to where Levi was still sleeping “he stormed the corridors with you clutched tightly in his arms, he was yelling at anyone who got in his way, it was very frightening. He demanded certain medics and he wouldn’t let any of your friends get too close in case the stitches tore or incase they woke you up. You’re a lucky girl, the Corporal doesn’t let many people get close to him but you already know that. He must have been an absolute mess about you.”
“Levi doesn’t stoop to that point, he’s always so collected,” you whispered never letting your eyes off him “He’ll only ever show you what he wants you to see, he’s strong like that.”
The nurse nodded gently as she put her files away and took your aching arm into her warm hands as she began to remove the bandages, you released a subtle gasp and hiss as a jolt of pain was sent surging through your body. Instinctively you pushed her away and you saw Levi stir slightly as you placed a hand over where the pain had come from, a few tears squeaking out your eyes as your side continued to throb.
“Shit, I’m-I’m sorry I...” you panted tensing as another wave of pain coarsed through you.
“I-I’ll get more morphine...we can leave those on for now.” she said calmly as she turned on her heal and left.
“Shit...” you heaved again leaning back into the pillows, the feathers that lined the inside crunching slightly as you rested your head back, the pain ebbing away.
“Don’t you ever do anything like that again brat,”
“You’re awake?”
“I haven’t slept properly since the day I was born, it’s not about to start now.” Levi drawled as he stared at you from where he was sat in his chair, you smiled softly.
“I-I’m sorry Levi...before you tell me how much pain I put you through I’m sorry I-“
“Save it.” he partially snapped causing you to close your mouth as he stood up from his chair “I don’t want to hear an apology. As far as I see it you don’t owe one. I never lost my faith in you, I never once believed you were gone, I wouldn’t let anyone else believe it either. I owe you a thank you for coming back. For coming back to me.”
You stared up at him frozen slightly. You watched as he perched himself on the bed beside you, he reached forward gently grabbing your hair in a fist as he lowered himself down, his nose centimetres from yours, his minty breath hot against your skin, his eyes no longer malicious and cold but filled with the presence of unfallen tears. He leaned in pressing his lips to yours, you didn’t object as you raised a hand up to run over the shaven part of his hair until your fingers became tangled in his thick raven hair.
His body pressing gently into your own as his grasp on your hair loosened and he brought it down to the back of your neck as he pushed your lips closer into his, you let your other hand run up his arm, the material of his white shirt creasing beneath your long fingers to let you feel the firm yet lean muscle beneath.
Gently Levi, pulled away pressing his forehead to yours, his hand holding your head up. He eventually brought his lips up to press against your forehead before pressing his forehead back into yours, his hands gentle with you. You glanced down at the bed sheets where a small damp spot stared back at you, then another and another . The drops falling onto the cotton sheets making small ‘plap’ sounds. Glancing up you felt your heart ache and lurch in distress when you saw him, his face looking down, hidden behind a curtain of hair, his breathing irregular and body trembling, small droplets running from his cheeks onto the bed.
“Levi?”
He looked up, the tears streaming down his face in such an uncharacteristic way you had to double take that you were sure it was him. But it was, his eyes brimming with tears that continued to pour, his face still as expressionless as ever but his eyes telling you all you needed to know. He was letting all his pent up grief and anger out. For the last time.
“Levi...please don’t- don’t cry,” you whispered reaching forward to grasp his hands wiping the tears from his face, you had never seen him like this, it was honestly frightening “I’m ok...I’m alive.”
“They signed your damn death certificate.” he answered his voice not even wavering the tears beginning to slow as he let the last few roll onto the bed taking your hands in his own “you were pronounced dead legally. I was so powerless. I hate that feeling. I couldn’t come to find you, I was the most lost I’d ever felt. What if I never got to see your stupid, beautiful fucking face ever again? You can’t do that to me (y/n), you can’t leave me alone on this world. I don’t have anyone else.”
You bit your lip. You had only ever seen him this vulnerable a few times in his life. It took him years before he felt comfortable enough to show the sensitive and human side of him. He would only ever show you what he wanted you to see, he wanted you to see this side of him, he allowed it to happen and that was a privilege very few got to see. You grasped his hand in your own and raised it to your chest, his eyes watching as you placed it down over the bandages that covered your torso. Clasping both hands over his you let his hand rest there, his eyes never leaving your hands.
“Feel that Levi. Feel my heart beat,” you whispered his eyes softened ever so slightly it was almost invisible, but he could. He could feel the steady beat of your heart below “I’m alive, I’m here. I won’t ever leave you. I will always come back to you.”
He was quiet. Just taking in the steady pulse below his palm, his eyes closing briefly as he began to calm himself his eyes falling back into their natural bored expression, although a small smile rested on his face.
“I was angry at you. At Erwin, at your squad, at the world.” he sighed looking up at you “but mostly myself.”
“Don’t be. The only reason I survived so long out there was because of your training. You always say nothing instills discipline like pain. Your intense, albeit ruthless, training taught me to endure whatever the world threw at me. But most importantly I couldn’t die without seeing you again. You may not know it Levi, but you saved me. Don’t ever think for a moment you should hate yourself for it.”
He didn’t say anything. Instead he nodded curtly before leaning in for another kiss, you smiled into it as he once again buried his lips against yours, a subtle moan coming from him as you ran your hand over his thigh, his own hands gently wrapping around your back, careful to avoid the stitches but you wouldn’t have cared about any pain. His kiss was all the morphine you would ever need.
“Woah cool it you guys you don’t want to send the whole med wing into flames.”
Levi growled lowly at the voice gently pulling away to turn and glare at the group that stood behind him, his grip around your back tightened ever so slightly as Hange, Erwin and Levi’s own squad joined you. A small smile on your face at the sight of your friends, Hange squealed loudly and lunged towards you a cry of protest coming from the group to remind about the stiches but before she could embrace me in a crippling hug, Levi had stood up and reached across the bed, he yanked her back by the collar of her jacket causing her to stumble back into Gunther who caught her. Levi stayed standing beside you shoving his hands into his pockets.
“Be careful four eyes.” he said a hint of aggression in his dull tone as the brunette straightened her glasses glaring at him “otherwise you’ll be the one in the hospital bed.”
“Zip it doom and gloom,” she snapped back as she walked over again in a more controlled manner before wrapping her arms gently around you, giving you a gentle squeeze.
“It’s good to see you (y/n),” Eld said warmly as the rest of the members of his squad nodded.
“We’re so glad your home,” Petra added clasping her hands together.
“Love you (y/n).” Oluo said folding his arms a smile in his face which was quickly wiped off from a cold look from Levi.
“Dude she’s Levi’s girl not yours.” Eld muttered to the other man who blushed a deep red.
“We know you like to pretend to be him but there’s got to be a line drawn somewhere.” Petra teased, Oluo’s face growing redder as he hissed at then to shut up.
“Thanks guys.” you said as Hange continued to smother you “I’m...I’m glad to be back.”
Hange pulled out of the hug pressing a sloppy kiss to your cheek as she continued to wipe tears from her face. Levi rolled his eyes when he saw that your cheek was now covered in her saliva and proceeded to pull a tissue out of his pocket and wipe it off, you felt a blush creep up on your cheeks.
“I’ve missed you so much...the world just wasn’t the same.” Hange gushed “I was so worried I...I even got snot on Levi’s sofa...”
“You what?” Levi said darkly causing Hange to shrink back and cower behind Erwin, you placed a hand in Levi’s arm and he relaxed slightly. He would get Hange to clean it up later.
“Did any of my squad come back?” you asked glancing around at the group, they all looked at the floor any humour in the atmosphere vanishing and a quiet “oh” left you lips.
“It’s ok (y/n), you have us.” Petra said a little too enthusiastically and you nodded your eyes glacing over as a heavy sadness came over you, your throat becoming strained as you tried to hold back the tears.
“None of them?” you asked your voice cracking as you sallowed a lump rising in your throat, your eyes beginning to feel scratchy. Levi placed a hand on your shoulder as you wrapped your arms around his waist pulling him in close to you, he leaned down to press a kiss to your hair.
“We gave them all a service.” Erwin said hoarsely “we just...we need to know what happened.”
“Erwin,” Levi drawled his voice low and warning “not now.”
“No it’s ok.” you breathed wiping your eyes and pulling your face away from Levi’s toned stomach “I don’t really know...w-we were heading back actually from the mission, the forests were so quiet. Not even a bird was singing. You know when you can just feel the trouble before it happens? Then they came for us. A whole hoard of them just running through the forest, it didn’t take them long to devour everyone, I led a small group of us through the thicker parts of the forest hoping to lose the titans, they couldn’t get through quick enough a-and...”
You swallowed loudly to stop another rush of tears as the others looked sympathetically towards you, Levi staring to the side his fist clenched tightly his jaw set firmly.
“Those woods go on for miles. The titans had me turned around and I’d lost my compass in the onslaught. I used the stars to navigate my way back, but I was already so far from home...the titans slowed me down too. My horse... is my horse ok?”
“Tch,” Levi scoffed quietly, of course you’d be worried about the damned horse even though you were lying here with critical injuries.
“He’s fine. He’s exhausted but he’ll be fine.” Erwin said and you nodded settling back into the pillows “(y/n) I want you to know that no one expects you to go back out there. You can train the cadets if you desire, or you can help with things around the walls. We will all understand.”
“No.” you said quickly “I became a scout to help keep humanity safe. I’m not going to stop now. I thought I would give up and die out there, if I can help protect people I will. Otherwise my squad died in vain.”
“(Y/n)...” Levi began but you cut him off, glaring up at him.
“I’m not giving up, I’m going to go back out there when I’m ready to. As soon as I get given the green light you’ll see me be the first on my horse. I don’t care what you say, I have to keep fighting. It’s something I’m not going to stop.”
You heard Levi sigh heavily through his nostrils, you knew there would be an argument about it later but for know he knew that you needed rest and little to no mental strain. You were positive he would try to stop you whether it be delaying your report for release or making you train longer then needed, you had no doubt Levi would have strong input in your decisions. If he did let you go you knew he would be damned if you went without him.
“Think about it.” Erwin said warmly, you nodded although you were sticking to your own mind.
“I have morphine and... oh my that’s a lot of people.” the nurse said as she returned, a tray of needles in her hands as she stepped through the crowd “I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask some of you to leave.”
“We understand,” Erwin said “let’s go.”
The others nodded and left uttering their goodbyes as Hange enveloped you in another hug, Levi having to pry her off to let the nurse near you and demanding she clean the snot from his sofa. Levi sat back down in his chair, the nurse threw him a look about to open her mouth but he promptly glared at her and she closed her mouth deciding that askin ghim to leave was out of the question. Asking for your arm as she raised the needle up and inserted it into your skin, a sharp pinch of pain and you felt the morphine inside squelch into your system as she dabbed a tissue over the spec of blood.
“What’s that one?” you asked as she raised another needle, Levi watched her carefully.
“It’s a sleeping drought,” she said softly “you’ve been asleep for forty eight hours, you need more rest.”
You nodded as she injected it into you before cleaning up and walking away. You lolled your head over to where Levi was still sat, your hand back on his as he watched you through half lidded eyes, his face just as straight and unsmiling as ever. His thumb rubbed the back of your hand as your head became less clouded, your eyelids growing heavier.
“You’ll be here when I wake up won’t you?” you asked lazily as the sleeping drug kicked in, your muscles becoming heavy as a wave of exhaustion waged over you.
“I have no where better to be.” Levi said dryly and you managed a small laugh.
“Hard ass.” you whispered as your eyes finally closed allowing your mind to be at ease for a few more hours but not before catching a glimpse of Levi smiling to himself and muttering:
“I love you brat. But if you ever die on me, I’ll make you lick my boots clean.”
You only rolled your eyes before falling into a deep sleep. Levi never left your side.
...
Done! Oh my god that was long I’m so sorry. If you made it this far thank you, I really hope you liked it. Ummm I suppose if you have any requests you can suggest them because I’m sure your imagination and simping for Levi are just as strong as mine. I can also do things for other characters and other tv shows like Avatar the last airbender or even Death Note or maybe your more of a Marvel or Star Wars kind of person? Idk. Suggest stuff and maybe I’ll write for it if I’m not busy with sports, college, work blah blah blah. Anyways thank you for reading it means a lot and if you want to hear about any more stuff I post then be sure to follow me, if not have a nice day. Ps they won’t all be this long and I’m sorry if it seemed rushed towards the end, my mind was like “let’s just finish this.” Also I was so nervous to post this

You had never been Underground before.
It was beautiful, in its own way. The city had its own glow to it, made up from yellows, blues, and greens. It was known that without lights, the city and its people would be covered in darkness. Something about the greens and blues hinted at that being a lie. That it wouldn’t have been completely dark below the surface.
You were snapped out of your thoughts when Erwin turned his head at the sound of cables slicing through the air, gas hissing, and the sound of an excited voice cheering, the echoes bouncing off the dirt and sentiment walls.
Erwin looked back at the three of you and the Military Police, the look on his face reading “that’s them.” It was after that moment, you began to understand the kind of reform Erwin was looking for and why Erwin had chosen these random Underground criminals as the example.
Well, maybe it wasn’t so random, knowing Erwin.
You carefully set aside the ODM gear retrieved from their beings, stepping to stand behind Erwin, yet in front of the three criminals. The light haired one locked his eyes on Erwin, though his face was thoughtful. The young woman’s eyes were wide with curiosity, but locked onto Erwin as well; only occasionally did she spare a glance at you.
The third one, who you assumed was the leader from his quietness, refused to move his gaze from the ground. Until Erwin stepped up to him, waiting for a response; was he trained in the military?
He gave Erwin a cold look, keeping to himself.
When his head was slammed into the dirty water, you watched the way the others reacted. They seemed… worried. But not in the sense that they were worried about the physical harm on him, but his head was pressed into a puddle of dirty water, jumping to answer Erwin’s questions.
You watched the way Erwin got close to the quiet man, so close that Erwin kneeled in the same puddle of dirty water that the man had his face in just moments ago. You paid attention to the surprise evident in the man’s face when Erwin offered for them to join the Survey Corps. The deathly cold, yet fiery look in his eyes when he finally looked up at Erwin.
“I’ll join the Survey Corps.”

Erwin announced that the gates opened in thirty seconds, the toll of the bell getting louder with each passing millisecond.
Everyone faced the gate, some heads forward and others turned upwards. The sun was still too low in the day, but the light created a perfect contrast against the bell and the small guard tower on the wall.
No matter how many expeditions you’ve gone on or continue to go on, the nerves never cease moments before. No one ever knew what to expect, no one could ever be certain of what would be awaiting them the moment they passed the gates and left the safety of the walls.
Thumbs and index fingers rubbing against Akiko’s reign, your gaze was anywhere but the gate.
You just looked forward to heading to the markets after the expedition, plans already made by you and -
“Geez, I’m tired of waiting,” Hange whined, throwing their head back. They immediately turned towards Levi, “Hey, Levi -”
“No.”
A soft giggled erupted past your lips, your hand quickly shooting up to cover your mouth; in a way that you brushed your fingertips against your lips while sparing Hange an apologetic look.
“I haven’t even said anything yet.”
“You want me to help capture a Titan with you, right? A waste of effort. I don’t want anything to do with it,” Levi deadpanned, eyes never leaving the gate.
You turned your head slightly to the left, internally excusing it as looking at Hange while she asked Mike if he would help her, and not to spare a moment to look at Levi.
“The same old boring answers from the same old boring men,” Hange mused.

Levi x Reader
The world had been your enemy ever since your unwanted birth. Born to a “whore” on a cold winter night in the underground with nothing but an old towel as a swaddle to keep you warm had been your lousy introduction to life. Like everyone in the hellish underground you had been dealt an unfair hand, your mother neglected you and eventually drank herself to death the poverty and responsibilities having plagued her with depression. You had never once remember being hugged by her or told that you were loved, you had simply existed with nothing but pain and a frail body to show for it.
Your mother’s happily ever after found within the bottles of liquor had resulted in your miserable childhood of being a street urchin, half starved to death and stealing scraps that no one would even give their dogs, the world had shown you nothing but unforgiveness and a cold shoulder. You yourself had chosen to turn your back on any sign of joy, the bitter and twisted life you had lived depriving you of any and all redemption from the life you had lived. You didn’t owe the world shit so why should you care?
However, in one sudden twist of fate the world had shown you a kinder side, maybe all the suffering and unfairness you had been dealt with had stacked up and pushed the scales in your favour. Whatever the reason, whatever power had moulded your luck, you had met Levi Ackerman and your life had never been the same.
Levi Ackerman had been you anchor for as long as you could care to remember. He was the shoulder you had cried on, he was the one who held you close at night, he was the one you could tell anything and everything too without the fear of being judged, he was the one you had fallen in love with and as a result he had become the very air you breathed. He was the joy you had had been deprived of, even in the misery of the underground Levi had been the sunlight you had craved for so long. You hadn’t needed jewels or gold if you had that man by your side. Either cudldled up in bed or pressing kisses to his bare chest, Levi was the only ecstasy you had ever craved that no other thrill could possibly offer. Your whole having been living lower then a feral cat, treated with animosity and abuse that had piled higher and higher had left you feeling as if you never deserved anything other then inhumane treatment. But Levi? He truly made you feel human.
So why had he left?
You could still recall the day he had told you that he had a very particular mission, one that required him to go the surface. He had expected you to come with him and help like you always did but you had refused, having had a spells of illness and sickness you explained that you were not well enough to offer your talents with assassinations and that you would sit this one out. Very reluctantly Levi had left you behind in the underground swearing to come back and get you. You had waited patiently for your lover to return, counting the days until he would come and pull you away with him to the world above like he had promised ever since the day you met.
But days had turned to weeks and weeks turned to months and the months turned to years.
Eventually you had given up all hope that he was coming back or that he was even alive.
You had heard that Titans were merciless beasts and that countless men and women had fallen outside the walls in their wake, with a broken heart you had come to accept that the same fate had befallen the man you loved. It seemed the world had turned its back on you once again, it’s generosity had gone as quick as it had come and death had taken the only thing life had given you to love. You could have spent many nights crying over the unmarked grave Levi lay in, but in the underground nothing came to those who mourned, you had to survive. That was how it had always been.
The day you had decided Levi was dead you had held back the pain, standing in the kitchen of your apartment which your two friends, Isabel and Farlan, had also shared with you and Levi. Your eyes had burned with tears as the realisation dawned on you that whatever foolish hope you had of Levi coming was gone. You had tried to convince yourself that he was still alive, but if he was alive then that meant he had purposefully left you behind.
You didn’t know which was worse to think about: Levi being dead or Levi consciously deciding to forget about you.
Whilst you had stood in the empty apartment you had swallowed your persistent grief, running your hand over your swollen tummy; whispering to your unborn baby that even though it’s daddy wasn’t coming home, it’s mother would always be by its side. And although your head told you that he was more then likely deceased, your heart would always whisper late at night as you lay awake thinking, that he was still out there and trying to to find you again. Even if it was the furthest thing from reality.
That was two years ago.
Two years since you had last seen Levi and your friends. Life had dragged slowly by and as time went on you had regained your strength, the birth of your daughter having almost killed you and had it not been for Levi’s old thug friends, you feared you and your daughter would no longer be alive. Your status as Levi’s lover had put you high in the list of respected people in the underground, but your skill with a knife and ODM gear had only pushed you higher through the ranks, you were a feared assassin and you had taken down many military personnel, kingpins and black market traders. You had made a name for yourself and it had seemed to have reached the surface that there was a deadly killer loose in the underground.
Maybe that was how you now found yourself being dragged into the scout HQ. Your hands cuffed behind your back, your arms gripped tightly by two scout members as they escorted you towards the main build of the headquarters.
You remained quiet, your head bowed and your hair falling into your eyes not struggling against the men that roughly pulled you through the corridors of the scout base. You glanced around under your hair, your irises shifting to the corners of your eyes to glare at the spectating scout members who stopped in the corridors, watching you being dragged through the old stone milktart HQ. You could hear them whispering and it took all your strength not to pounce on them and put them in their place, to show them that there was reason as to why you were cuffed. With each step you took,l the cool metal blade of the knife you had tucked into your boot pressed against your calf, ready and waiting to strike when you saw an opening.
“You got anything to say for yourself?” one of the scouts says as he walks you down a narrow corridor afew doors on the right side of the stones walls, candles burning in their bronze sconces.
You remain silent, keeping your head down glancing ahead of you through your hair to see a huge door at the end of the corridor with brass handles and two scouts stationed outside for security. You eyed them cautiously with each step you took, your fingers fiddling with something hidden in the sleeve of your trench coat, a small hair slide you had kept in a secret compartment within the sleeve.
“You’re a widely wanted assassin you know.” the guard continues, you gently move your fingers upwards, the hair slide in your fingers as your try to slot it into the lock without them noticing, pushing through the pain in your wrists.
“You’ve killed a lot of our men and women, don’t expect Commander Erwin to be forgiving.”
“It’s the captain you should be worried about. You’ve killed his men and he doesnt like good lives being wasted.”
“If anything you should know the military police will want you hanged, so enjoy your last few hours of life.” The other guard sneers.
You ignore them, too engrossed with finding the key hole, your heart jumping in joy when you felt the hair slide slip into the key hole, you chewed on your lip as you jiggled it around, the guards not even looking. You could always rely on the ego of cocky soldiers to help you escape, they always thought they had won before the game was even beginning.
“The bitch has a daughter too.” The first soldier sighed “still too young to know what’s going on.”
“Great just what we need, the spawn of scum. The kids gonna have to be put into the system or something, either way she’s screwed. She can thank her mother for that.” The second soldier sneered and it took all of you to not retaliate, you bit your lip harder as you twisted the hair slip a few more times, just a little bit more.
“I don’t know why we bother with trials when we know they’re guilty. This broad has killed more people then those damn Titans I’m sure of it.” The second guard spoke, the first one laughed.
“Maybe we should just feed her to them. Seems fitting. A demon eating a demon, almost poetic.”
“You’re full of shit Harold.”
You weren’t listening anymore, not that you had before, instead you worked at the lock your fingers beginning to cramp from the excessive movement while cuffed. You had to admit the scout cuffs were impressive, they were probably the hardest lock you had had to pick in a while, it didn’t matter though because after a few more jerks of the hair slide you felt the mechanisms grow loose; soon followed by a soft click that went unheard by the guards as they continued to jabber on, nearing the door at the end of the corridor. You kept your hands steady to prevent the cuffs from sliding off your wrists, you needed to wait a little longer. You raised your head ever so slightly to notice the men guarding the door were holding shot guns, a wicked grin already across your features as a devious plan spread through your mind.
And you began the countdown.
Five.
You dropped your head to hide the smile. Keeping your face neutral to conceal the escape plan you had forming.
Four.
You kept your heart steady, your mind focused to execute the daring deed. You needed absolute perfection.
Three.
Your fingers twitched getting ready to strike when ready, your body tembling as your heart raced with excitement.
Two.
The soldiers holding you stopped by the door letting the guards reach forward to open the doors back. Eyes taken off you for a second.
One.
You ripped your arms free from the scouts grip, the cuffs sliding from your wrists to the floor with a clatter. Before the soldiers hilding you could even react, you threw your hands out and grasped their hair, forcefully slamming their foreheads together. They cried in pain as their noses crunched upon the impact, thick scarlet blood spouted from their noses.
You thrust your arms forward, grunting at the soldiers dead weight as you threw their unconscious bodies at the two other guards with guns, the two men yelling as their comrades fell ontop of them, you watched them tumble and crash into the wall behind them, sandwiched between stone and unconscious soldiers.
Without time to catch your breath or sooth your already aching muscles, you snatched a gun from one of the fallen guards, both men groaning in pain from the collision. You raised the gun to your head butting the end of of the shotgun into the skulls of the two guards making sure they too were blacked out, ni sooner had you made the impact to their heads you took off down the corridor, not even looking back when you heard the doors open and shouts coming from the direction of where you had taken out the four men.
You charged through the corridors you had come through, your air flying behind you and your heart hammering in your chest as you pushed through any on coming scouts not caring to stop. You knew there would be soldiers chasing after you, you didnt have time to mutter an apology to the girl you had shoved out a window in your desperate scramble for freedom. Glass flying through the air as the girls scream ripped through the corridor, the scouts who had been chasing a few meters behind you stopping in their tracks to aid the girl who was hanging onto the window ledge. You only smirked to yourself as your boots crushed the shattered glass that now lay spread out on the floor, at least now you could run for a little bit longer without being tailed.
You growled when you heard a flurry of footsteps coming to the right, you glanced over your shoulder to see about six scout members hot on your trail. Shit. Looking around there was no where else to go, a barricade of scouts blocked the way forward, waiting for you and then the ones coming from the right staircase would corner you in a heartbeat.
Time seemed to slow, the shouts of the soldiers who had cornered you fading into the background as your heart beat hammered in your head, your breathing the only noise you could hear. If you carried on running straight you would be stopped by the barricade of men, if you went down the right staircase you would also be stopped, there was no escape back the way you came. You sighed as you realised your only escape was the left, a wall lined with windows. Luckily you still had one more trick up your sleeve, you could see the victorious glint in the soldiers eyes in the barricade up ahead, of course. Cocky.
“We have her now men!” one of them cried out followed by deep cheers.
You shot them your own cocky grin, which they caught, the smig looks fading from their faces as they watched with wide eyes as you continued to sprint toward them. However, as you came parallel to the third to last window they were all the more surprised to see you reach for something under your trench coat, ripping the clothing off to reveal the ODM harness strapped to your body.
“Shit! She has ODM gear!” one of the soldiers yelled but it was too late.
Your fingers twitched over the triggers of the ODM hilts shooting the metal cables from their holds and out through the window you were parallel to. Glass once again shattering and flying through the air in a twinkling flurry as the sound of breaking glass filled your ears, your body was lifted from the floor, the straps of the ODM gear pulling against your legs and torso as you were ripped off from the floor and out barrelling out the window.
You flew through the window, glass still falling around you as you were launcjed into the sky, your ODM drills tearing through the old stone in the towers of the HQ, the wind howling through your ears and hair as you swung meters above the ground looking for a good place to land. You could see troops making their way to the courtyards readying their own gear, you scoffed as you flipped around a corner, the straps of your harness rubbing harshly against your muscles as you glided over the turrets of the HQ. You allowed yourself a moment to regain your breath and gather your thoughts as you leapt from wall to wall, the gas from the canisters by your thighs, hissing as they launched you faster and faster through the air.
You needed to find Kuchel. You couldn’t leave with out her. After you found her and escaped you didn’t know what would follow, perhaps you would take your chances outside the walls? No. That was stupid. There was no way you could manage to care for a two year old and take down those monsters, you had admittedly never seen a titan but you knew they were not to be underestimated. You could probably live and run within the three walls, there was enough land to evade the military for a few years and if done properly, forever. But what kind of a life was that for your four year old? What would Levi do? Well for starters he wouldn’t have gotten caught in the first place, you still couldn’t believe you had managed to get captured. But it didn’t matter, you needed to figure out a pl...
You saw them before they hit you, from the corner of your eye you saw a figure careen towards you, an emerald cloak flying out behind them, their face hidden under a hood, their ODM gear whizzing past you and securing itself into the cement fillings of the walls. An angered yell tore you from your thoughts and on instinct your fingers squeezed the triggers on the hilts of your ODM gear causing your own grapples to come loose from the walls. Using every muscle in your body aching as you twisted through the air, your body spiralling upwards narrowly avoiding the scout that had been coming for you. One leg stretched out infront of them, the other bent underneath their body, their torso leant backward to add streamline as they attempted to send their foot flying into your side. You remained calm as whoever it was flew centimers below you, your eyes trying to glance under the shadowy hood of the mysterious figure as the passed under you, their face raised to look up to where you twisted out the way, giving them a smirk as you saw their eyes widen from under the cloak hood before you were torn away from them, arching your self into a flip and launching your grapples into another turret and being whisked away.
You laughed as you saw whoever had tried to knock you down land into the side of the wall their grapples had been aimed at, their feet planted on the stone as they kept their gaze trained on you. You could see them watch you from their position and a sudden rush of arenaline coarsed through you, whoever was under that cloak was skilled and impressively fast, this would be fun. To see who could out wit eachother the longest, a contest of skill.
You laughed quietly to yourself as you continued to grapple tower to tower, you knew you would eventually win. You always did.
For all your whims and graces of believing the scouts were over indulgent you really were quite hypocritical, as you glanced back to where you had left the scout member who had tried to knock you from the sky your eyes widened to see the figure that had been perched on the wall was no longer there. Frantically your head whipped from side to side as you confined to swing ober tne Svout HQ trying to find where your enemy had gone, but with every desperate glance you couldn’t find any trace of him.
Where were they?
BAM! You grunted in sudden pain as you felt something smash straight into your side causing your body to ripped from the air, the wind being knocked from your lungs as the soldier from before crashed into your side, his foot slamming into your back causing your line of trajectory to be thrown off and sending you hurtling towards the ground below. You could feel the figure pressing into you, his hands grasping your neck tightly as you both screamed towards the ground, you growled to yourself trying to launch your ODM cables but the old piece of machinery wouldn’t listen to your trembling fingers as you pressed the switches over and over. The wind tearing over your body sending your hair flying into your eyes prohibiting your view of the man, he was still latched to your body.
Now inches from the ground a panicked cry left your lips as the man loosened his grip on you and pushed away from you, flying back into the air shooting his grapples and swinging out of the harm of crashing into the ground, his cape flying behind him like a majestic pair of wings.
You however had had no time to save yourself, your only instinct to cover your head and face as your body hit the ground, a gasp escaping as you continued to fall head first toward the ground. Painful throbs surge through your arms as they met the hard earth first, a burning coasting through your skin as the rough ground tore away at your flesh as you bounced along the dirt. Desperately trying to find your bearings you came to a stop, the wind having been totally knocked from you as a dull ache crippled every nerve of your body.
You lay gasping for air on the dusty floor, blood beginning to sleep through the cuts that now graced your face and arms. Your body shaking from shock as you clumsily got your feet, your legs weightless and light as you stood up, your breathing strained and raspy as you reached for the knife that was still tucked in your boot. Your eyes scanning the air for any sight of the soldier who had ploughed into you, the sky was once again clear and you tended bracing for any kind of surprise impact again. Gathering your last nerves you began to run, your numb feet pounding against the spinning world as you made a made dash, your fear was busted there was no doubt in your mind. Glancing ahead you could see some horses tied to a post already tacked up, you had never ridden a horse before but if you could grab one it could offer a valuable escape.
You internally groaned as the sound of ODM cables hissing meters above you could be heard, glancing over your shoulder you felt your heart brow cold at the sight of several scouts giving chase; their cloaks flying behind them and blades drawn as they swung down. You weren’t surprised to see them, you had just hoped they would have arrived later rather then sooner, but you continued to run despite knowing you would be caught only stopping when the soldiers landed in circle around you, their hoods pulled back to reveal their faces. They drew their blades and held them out by their sides, metal clashing against eachother to pen you in as they stood with locked blades. Like a beast being caged you growled, spinning slowly in a circle to try and find a weakness in their barrier they had created. The knife still clutched in your hand, ready to cut anyone who made a move as your keen eyes desperately searched for a chink in the impenetrable wall they had created.
You didn’t flinch when you heard someone land harshly behind you, instead you remained perfectly still, your back turned to whoever stood behind you. Not even batting an eyelid even as a gleaming silver blade was jammed over your right shoulder, your pupils shifting to were the weapon peered up at you, the silver flashing in the sunlight. The cool metal inches from your neck as whoever was behind you held their weapon to the side of your neck, daring you to move even an inch. You closed your eyes as you tired to steady your thoughts, your heart hammering in your chest as you slowly held your hands up, your elbows bent as you flattened your palms, the knife youbhad held clattering to the floor.
“It’s a good idea to surrender.” a voice spoke “you’ve just made my job ten times easier.”
That voice. You had heard that voice before, somewhere long ago. The breath caught in your lungs as you felt a sudden wave of nostalgia crash through you, a sense of familiar brushing through your mind. Did you know that voice?
Something buried deep inside you screamed yes, that voice was dull and void of any kind of enthusiasm. Instead it’s layers were dripping in cold malice as its owner pushed the sharp edge of the blade closer to your skin. But surely if you knew the man who owned the voice, he wouldn’t be trying to kill you.
“You think you could let me go?” you ask trying to glance over your shoulder at the man behind you only for the blade still lingering above your shoulder to flick upward and smack you in the cheek causing your head to jerk to the side.
“Don’t be an idiot.” The voice drawled “you’ve killed good people. You’re not going anywhere any time soon. If it was my choice I would kill you right here, but luckily for you Erwin wants you have a fair trial. Waste of time if you ask me.”
“I only did what I did to feed my daughter and keep a roof over our heads.” you spit, your brows furrowed into a scowl as you glared at your feet gritting your teeth as the memories of the night Levi left filling your head “I wouldn’t expect you to understand, having been raised above ground your whole life. I bet you’ve had everything handed to you.”
The man behind you was quiet for a moment. You stood patiently waiting ignoring the harsh looks of the soliders who remained around you, keeping quiet as they watched the scene play out before them. They were curious as to what their captain would do next, most assumed he would take you away and be dealt with by the law however some, the ones that knew him better then the others, could see him grow hesitant and the longer he stared at you the more he seemed to restrain himself from doing anything else. They didn’t know what it was but something seeemdd off about the hardened captain, they were pondering what it was.
The soldiers had not been wrong to assume their leader was slightly off. Levi had you right where he wanted you, on the receiving end of his blade and surrounded by a ring of elite soldiers and yet, he couldn’t bring himself to further command your arrest. Instead he found himself glued to the spot unable to do anything other then keep throwing taunting remarks towards you. He stared at the back of your head, your long locks of (y/h/c) hair resurfaced long lost memories he had long since thought he had repressed to the depths of his consciousness, but everything from the way that you moved to the way that you spoke reminded him of something, or someone, he had chosen to leave behind a long time ago. His grip on the hilt of his blade remained steady yet his heart hammered in his chest as he watched you cautiously, he had a theory as to who he was pointing his weapon at but he hoped more then anything he was wrong. He hoped that you were a stranger, an unfortunate coincidence that you resembled the woman he loved instead of it actually being her, because if it was her if it was (y/n), then he had failed and his choice to abandon you would have been for nothing. He prayed to any cruel power that would listen that he was wrong.
“I have a daughter.” you say drawing Levi from his thoughts, his glare relaxing slightly as you bowed your head, your face hidden under a curtain of hair “would you make an orphan of her? Kill the only family she had left?”
“Where is her father?” Levi asked calmly despite his heart that lurched in his chest.
“He’s dead. Two years ago.” you whisper, you couldn’t see Levi’s eyes widen his body growing cold.
He pressed his eyes shut, swallowing the lump in his throat. Two years ago. Was this another coincidence. No it couldn’t be. He already knew who he was looking at, the flurry of emotions that wrestled inside him was indescribable, a wave of joy, fear, relief, hurt anything you could possibly feel was now crashing over him and ripping away his walls. He could tell you it was him, but he wanted to know how you felt about him, if he asked enough questions maybe he could grasp some understanding as to whether or not you would want to see him. If not he would remain hidden under the safety of his cloak hood and let you confuse to believe he had died, if you wanted to see him then he would reveal himself to you.
“But you.”
Levi listens as you talk, picking up in his broken you sounded.
“You talk just like him.” you release a small laugh “almost identical. Apart of me think maybe there’s a chance you are the father to my little girl. The man I love. But I know that’s stupid. If you were him that would mean he chose to leave me behind. Who would do that? Who would promise to come back and then leave their pregnant girlfriend behind?”
Levi’s eyes widen from under the shadow of his hood, his heart clenched in a vice like grip in his chest. So that was why you hadn’t come with him, Isabel and Farlan that day. Had he known he would have pulled you from the underground without a moment of doubt, it would have been reason enough to prevent you from becoming a scout and keep you safe for a little while longer. But he hadn’t tried to reconcile with you, instead he had decided that it was safer for you to forget about him and not risk joining him on the surface where the Titans roamed. After losing Isabel and Farlan there had been no chance he would lose you too, he couldn’t watch something happen to you. So as a result he had left you in the questionable safety of the underground, hoping you would be better off without him. And now here he stood, two years later with you on the other side of his weapon.
He retracted the blade from hovering over your neck and sheaths it, the scouts surrounding him looking on in surprise as their stoic captain lowered his guard.
“Petra.” he spoke his eyes never leaving the back of your head, you noticed a mousy haired woman perk up.
“Yes captain?”
“Take everyone back to HQ. I can handle it from here.” Levi instructed, Petra seemed hesitant.
“But captain...”
“That’s an order.”
You watched as the soldiers one by one sheathed their blades and dispersed, walking away and launching their grapples into the turrets of the HQ. Silently, your eyes stayed trained on them as you watched the figures disappear into the sky and over the walls of the HQ leaving you alone with the Captain, you lowered your hands to your sides.
It wasn’t Levi. It couldn’t be Levi. You kept telling yourself over and over again that Levi was dead, that this man was unfortunately similar to your lover but was in fact not him. You didn’t want to turn around, that would confirm that it either was or wasn’t him and you’d rather be ignorant to the knowledge of Levi’s fate if it meant it would only cause you more pain.
It was quiet for the longest time.
“Are you going to turn around?” Levi asked after a while, you bit your lip.
“If I do what will I see?”
“The man you love.”
You squeezed your eyes shut, your eyes burning with tears as your legs buckled slightly a wave of weakness surging through you. It was him. Your fears were reality and now you couldn’t bring yourself to look at him, you didn’t wipe away the tears that fell from your eyes and ran down your cheeks as your throat became dry and your body trembled. You didn’t know what you felt. Breathing became difficult and all you could do was gasp for air as salty tears still traced your cheeks.
“Turn around.” he pleaded.
“I can’t.”
“Why?”
“Because if I do, if I face you, it’ll become real. It’ll be proof you chose to leave me behind. A part of me wants you to remain dead.”
“And the other part of you?”
“Wants to beat you senseless.”
“Tch. I expected no less.”
“You’re in no position to criticise.” you growl, your fists clenching, you hear him sigh.
“I guess not. Turn around (y/n).”
The moment his name left your lips an unbridled rage blinded you. How dare he beg you to look at him when he had left you behind. How dare he stand behind you and whisper your name as if nothing had happened, as if what he had done was forgivable. Before you could comprehend what you were doing your fist had moved on it’s own, lashing out as your body spun with no command to face him, your clenched fist making contact with his nose a deafening crunch echoing into the air as your knuckles cracked the joint in his face and his body was launched across the ground.
Blood flying through the air from his nose as he fell backwards instinctively reaching his hands behind his head to flip back onto his feet. You stood panting as your glared at him your fist clenched still and hanging by your legs as you watched Levi wipe the blood from his nose his hood having fallen back to reveal his face.
Your heart burned in your chest as you stated into his silver eyes, his hair still cut and styled the same way, ebony locks falling into his eyes like it had in the underground, his skin having been graced with a little splash of colour after four of years of living under the sun. He hadn’t grown much in height but he had filled out in the muscle area, his body noticeably broader. His face had aged somewhat, his eyes graced with slight bags and his angled features having become more defined and his lips still perky and full. His eyes seemed fuller, as if the years had worn say any glint he had once honed in them. But of course he was still as handsome as the day you had met him and it tore you apart.
“You son of a bitch!” you yelled storming over to where he stood wiping the blood from his face with his cloak, his face half hidden but his eyes locked with yours. You knew he could have easily avoided the blow you had aimed at him, you knew he had purposely not dodged he attack and you were glad he alllwwd you to inflict pain on him. It meant he knew he had screwed up.
“You said you would come back!” you scream picking up your pace, Levi remains still waiting for you to pounce on him, he could see it the way you moved that you were going to attack again.
And you did.
You lunges toward him getting ready to pound your fists into his chest and face but as you moved towards him you felt your strength dissipate and instead your balled up fists loosened and slid around his neck, your lips crashing into his.
The instant his lips melted into yours his arms looped around your waist, fitting so perfectly it was as if they had always been there. He pulled you close I to his chest, your hands pressing into his pectorals feeling the firm muscle underneath, his cold nose brushing over your tear streaked cheeks as he continued to passionately kiss you. His lips tasted the same, minty and with a slight bitter twist that only made him all the more addictive, his soft lips moulding against your own as one of his hands to reach up grasp the back of your head his fingers tangling in your hair and pulling on the roots. Butterflies fluttered in your stomach and the anger you had fizzled and eventually died as he held you into him the way he had all your life. It was as if no time had passed and the world slipped through your fingers as he kissed you, your body growing light as he gently pulled away resting his forehead on yours, his hands resting on your shoulder blades as he kept you close to him, your own arms around his waist.
“I should kill you.” you whisper, your face scrunching up as tears continue to leak down your face your fingers gripping the fabric of his shirt from under his cloak as your legs buckle and he slowly lets you put all your weight on him as you bury your face into his shoulder and he rests his cheek on your head as he holds you tightly.
“Levi I should rip your head off.” you growl as you continue to sob into his shoulder “w-why would leave us? Why didn’t you come back?”
Levi swallowed loudly as he just held you into him, his own tears spilling down his face any and all composure gone. It wasn’t as if there was anyone there to see him break down and cry.
“I thought you would be safer if I left you behind.” he whispered into your neck as he nuzzled his nose into your locks of hair “I knew Erwin would make you a soldier and I couldn’t risk it...I couldn’t lose you outside the walls too, not after losing them.”
“What do you mean by ‘them’?” you ask, your voice trembling as you pulled your face out of his shoulder to look up into his sparkling irises as tears continued to spill down his cheeks, his jaw clenched and nose still bloodied.
You could feel the fingers of dread claw away at you, realisation setting in as Levi remained quiet. Your face growing pale and a cry left your lips, your legs buckling under you and you fell to the floor slipping through Levi’s arm to land on your knees your legs tucked underneath you. Your hands tightly grasping the grass beneath your feet as you shoulders shook, tears dampening the soul beneath you.
Levi watched you crying on your hands and knees and he lowered himself to kneel before you, his own lips trembling and eyes red from crying.
“Isabel...Farlan they’re dead?” you ask through pained sobs raising your head to meet Levi’s guilt ridden eyes, his hair falling into his eyes and his gaze avoiding yours as he stared towards ground and he nods. Your eyes widen at his gentle nod and a stifled moan leaves your lips.
So they were gone?
“H-how did they...?”
“Titan.” Levi grunts and you nod.
“That’s why you didn’t come back for me?” you ask and Levi let’s his gaze return to you his sound shattering at the sight of you the break in your voice piercing his last few nerves of strength “you didn’t want me to have the same fate?”
“I thought I was doing you a favour.” he said quietly bowing his head to hide his tearful eyes from you “I thought you had a better chance of surviving if I left you behind. They would have made you a soldier. Had I known you were...that we...had I known you were pregnant I would have come back. They wouldn’t have made you fight and things would’ve been...”
He trailed off his brow furrowing at his incompatibility to form the right words and keep his tough exterior. Staring with starry eyes, your heart like a dead weight in your chest you continued to watch him as he kneeled in front of you, his body trembling cautiously you shuffled closer to him sitting your self up and moving his arms gently out the way to allow your body to press against his reaching up to make your arms round his neck.
Levi froze for a moment as you snuggled into his body, after the surprise of your affection he wrapped his arms around you as you pressed your face into his chest. His chin resting on your shoulder as he stayed kneeling with you hugging him from your position in the ground your legs tucked under your body.
“Why didn’t you tell me you were pregnant?” Levi mumbled his eyes closed as he clutched you into him the tears having slowed.
“I wanted to surprise you. When you came home.” you bit your lip to prevent more tears and sobs from escaping “but you never did. You left me behind.”
“I know.”
“Levi you left both of us.”
“I was trying to protect you.”
“I know.”
You knew you should be screaming at him, maybe ruffle him up a bit more but you had never liked arguing with him. Even after having broken and tearing out your heart you already forgave him, was it weakness? Maybe. But you knew you were still so in love with Levi Ackerman, the nights spent in the thoroughly cleaned apartment, cuddled into his side on the sofa as Isabel and Farlan chatted with you, their laughs still ringing in your ears. You couldn’t stay mad at him, he was the father of your child and your only love, he was Levi Ackerman the only thing this world had given you in a moment of generosity. While you were displeased at his decisions you knew that in time you would forget the pain he caused even if his intentions were pure, because time could heal what he had damaged.
You sniffled into his shirt as he slowly lowered his bent knee that held him up to rest on the ground beside his other knee to rest on his lower legs to get more comfortable as he kept you held into him. His strong arms warming your shaken body as they renamed securely around you, his chin resting in the crook of your neck just thanking whoever was listening for having you in his arms again.
“So we have a brat of our own?” he asked softly after a while, you nod.
“A little girl.” you reply drying your eyes, your body gradually relaxing “Kuchel. That’s her name.”
“You named her after my mother?” Levi asked a flurry of fuzzy warmth surging through him, his heart swelling in his chest.
“Of course I did.”
“Can I meet her?”
“Your men have her. I don’t know where they’ve taken her. They’ll take me away too.”
At your words you heard a growl rip through his throat and his grip on you tightened. Like a wolf defending his mate and cub he would fight for the right to keep them even if he died trying.
“I’ll sort it out. We can get Kuchel back and I can make a bargain with the commanders about your arrest. I promise you I won’t let anyone take either of you away from me.” he vowed, his grip on you loosening allowing you to pull your face away from his chest, he turned his neck to look at you.
As you stared into his eyes you noticed that dull edge had been replaced with a small glimmer. His once faded and tiered silver orbs now seeming to light up with new founded hope that you had always given him, the breath caught in your throat as he leaned down to press his lips into yours. The kiss was slower and filled more controlled want as he pulled you closer into him, breaking the kiss to then press his lips to forehead and ruffling your hair slightly like he did two years ago since falling in love with you.
“Levi please...” you whisper as you rest your head back into his shoulder the tears having all but slowed “please don’t leave me again.”
“Don’t worry brat. It’s never happening again.”
“Good.”
You remained clutching eachother for a time so king you had lost track. It wasn’t until four scouts landed around you and Levi that your moment of ambience was ruined. The soldiers landed in a small diamond around you and your long lost love, not having a chance to react as one of them lunges forward to grab you sharply by the arm, ripping you from Levi’s arms and grunting as whoever had grabbed you pulled you into them o lay for their blade to be pushed to your neck.
Levi jumped to his feet, drawing his own weapon and holding it infront of the soldiers blocking him from letting the gleaming blade reach your neck. The soldiers eyes widened at the captain who blocked his blow, Levi’s strength causing the soldiers blade to clatter to the floor and in a moment the soldier dropped his guard only for Levi to pull you away from your attacker and move you behind him, his stance defensive and blades drawn by his side, ready to fight.
“Captain Levi just what do you think you’re doing?” one of the soldiers spoke, he was tall with blonde hair and blue eyes, you noticed that Levi didn’t have blades aimed at the man but the other three instead.
“There’s been a mistake Erwin.” Levi spoke, his eyes cautiously watching the others “this assassin is not my enemy.”
“What are you talking about Levi?” Erwin asked.
“She’s killed over hundred of us. Hand her over captain, I’ll finish the job.” one of the other soldiers says his blades twitching and Levi snarls throwing an arm out causing his cape to fly out and shield your body as you stood patiently behind him.
“No one lays a hand on her.” Levi snaps his eyes locking with Erwin’s “Erwin. You remember when I first left the underground I said I had someone to come back to.”
Erwin’s eyes visibly stiffened, his mouth slightly a gape and his blue eyes widening as he glanced at you. You shoe him a weak grin which he didn’t return, you couldn’t blame him you had killed numerous soldiers. Mostly military police.
“Levi she’s a dangerous assassin with crimes worth the death penalty fifty times over.” Erwin says “I’m not sure if I can get her out of this...”
“What are you saying Erwin?” one of the soldiers yelled.
“You’re saying you’re going to pardon this murderous bitch?” the one who had grabbed you earlier yelled, you remained still as you watched the scene play out. You trusted Levi, he would get you out of this. You weren’t afraid to accept the consequences for your crimes, but after finding Levi you wanted desperately to try and become a better person, the way he had. To be there for your daughter and start again.
Erwin’s mind was running on loop. He had always wondered who Levi had been referring to all those years ago, the man had said that he had wanted to bring someone else to the surface with him and Erwin had agreed but only once Levi and his friends had proved his worth. But then after the trios first expedition Levi had seemed reluctant to bring whoever he had spoken of so fondly above ground, Erwin had never pried but now he wishes he had. Otherwise he would have told his friend to re think his choices. But Erwin wasn’t a monster, he had already assumed the infant he had taken into the Survey Corps custody was the spawn of the stoic captain, and he wasn’t going to deprive Levi of a family.
“All Of you leave.” Erwin said glancing around at the other three soldiers “and find the infant, bring her out here.”
Levi gave his commander a grateful nod which Erwin returns. The soldiers, although hesitant, didn’t argue but you could see the disapproval in their eyes as they walked away. Erwin waited until they were out of war shot to continue speaking.
“Levi. I hope you know this won’t be an easy case to plea.” Erwin began as he sheathed his blades “I want to help you. I think having your family will be good for you, I can ask for (y/n)’s skills to be put to use on our branch of the military. I must warn you though I can’t promise anything, and if she is allowed to join the fight for humanity she will be expected to join most expeditions.”
Levi nodded, so his fears were true. You would be put into harms way but there was nothing else he could do, Erwin was risking everything to help him. He couldn’t afford to be picky. He glanced to his side as he felt you move out from behind him to stand by Levi’s side entwining your hand with his, your gaze meeting Erwin’s.
“You would do that for me?” you ask quietly, Erwin looks you up and down his gaze softening.
“I may not like the way you made your living, but I’m aware of the situation you were in. Until something is done about the conditions of the underground no one can expect everyone who lives there to lead innocent lives. I’m doing this or my friend and his daughter. I’m doing this so you can have a second chance. I warn you to not mess it up.”
“Thank you.” you reply, cursing your weakness as more tears sting your eyes, you lean on Levi letting your head rest on his shoulder.
Erwin nods and you notice his eyes looking at something behind you. You raise your head off Levi’s shoulder to turn your head to look behind you to see a brunette female scout member with glasses and a ponytail walking towards you, in her arms was a small raven haired two year old.
Relief swept through your veins as you saw Kuchel safely in the woman’s arms. Levi turned beside you, his hand slipping out of yours to stare at Hange who carried his daughter towards him. You noticed that he had frozen, his body tensing and then relaxing his eyes wide and already brimming with adoration for the two year old, his jaw slightly slack as Hange approached a grin on her freckled face.
“Ku...” you breath reaching out to take your daughter, Hange passes her to you and you hold your baby girl close to your body, pressing a kiss to her soft hair.
Levi stared down at the tiny human in your arms, his heart melting in his chest as her huge (y/e/c) eyes curiously boring into his own, her fluffy locks of raven hair unmistakably the Ackerman in her and her skin a fair as freshly fallen snow. This was his baby, his daughter who he was gazing upon.
Erwin decided that now was as good as time as any to leave the new father with his small family. As he passed the short, raven haired man the commander placed a hand on his friends shoulder giving him a reassuring smile which Levi stiffly returned belfry the blonde walked away dragging Hange with him, the woman crying that she wanted to watch the adorable scene before her.
Levi turned his attention back on the the woman and two year old next to him, watching lovingly as you cooed to Kuchel. He didn’t know how to explain the feeling that surged within him, a feeling he thought he would never be privileged enough to experience again.
“Do you want to hold her?”
“What?” he asked snapping out if his internal monologue and you chuckled bouncing Kuchel on your slim hip.
“Do you want to hold her?” you asked again.
“I don’t know how.”
“I’ll show you.”
Levi hesitated, a prick of uncertainty clouding his mind. What if his daughter didn’t like him? He wasn’t exactly the most gentle person in the world he knew that, his hands were calloused and he had no clue how to properly hold his daughter. What if he dropped her or held her too tightly and hurt her?
But he didn’t protest as you gently began to untangle Kuchel from your body and gently lifted her up and passed her to Levi, you could see the panic in his eyes as your hand left Kuchel and let him hold her. Gently you moved his hands to hold her properly, one of his delicate hands supporting her back and the other tucked securely under her tiny legs as he held her into his chest. It didn’t take longer for the anxiety to be swept away and replaced with pure affection.
You watched as Levi’s stoic face slowly softened and a faint smile graced his lips as his daughter rested her face into his shoulder, her chubby toddler hands grasping the emerald fabric of his cloak as he bounced her up and down the way you had earlier.
“She’s mine?” Levi asks as he presses his lips to Ku’s temple the child releasing a small giggle and you nod.
“Yeah. She’s yours.” you say running a hand over her tiny back “Do you like her?”
“Tch. That’s one way to describe it.” Levi mutters but despite his harsh tone you could see the sparkle in his eyes.
It may have been the world finally paying back for all the pain you had endured. It may have been that fate was finally on your side and granting you this moment of serenity as you watched Levi hold your daughter into his chest, or maybe it was just sheer luck. Whatever it was, whatever power had gifted you this, you knew that all the suffering had been worth it if it meant you could live these blissful minutes. Whatever the world had left to throw at you, you could handle it. Because you had him back, Levi Ackerman was apart of your life again. And you’d be damned if you ever let him go.

I saw that requests are opeeen! As your biggest fan I can't NOT take advantage of this😊 I want to request fluff!!! With probably just a pinch of angst~ Reader is a fierce captain on the battlefield BUT outside of it, she is the type of person who is motherly, kind, sweet, a bit shy and more on the meek, gentle side. She takes care of everyone and is widely loved ((104th brats love her as a mom)) We can insert some slightlyyy protective/possessive Levi cuz of all male attention she's getting and how some can't keep their hands off her and he has to subtly put them in their place without revealing too much of their relationship. She also finds it hard to say no, her desire to help people overwhelming her each time which causes some ppl to take advantage of her desire to help and sometimes that leaves her exhausted and close to tears. Levi finally snaps after witnessing Something like this and makes sure to state some things clearly and protect her. Maybe some private, very soft moment can follow with soft Levi but then his squad (our 104th brats) see and they are just so shocked that someone like her is with someone like him. But at the same time their hearts just melt and they love the couple!

a/n: omg stop you’re literally the sweetest, I hope you enjoy this and I’ve done the masterpiece of a request justice🤞🏻you deserve so much honestly. Lowkey nervous, but this request made my heart swoooon 💖 I loved it so much, it lived rent free in my head for a day or two before I began writing, thanks for sending it in ❤️❤️

You were known for being approachable and kind, if someone had a problem, they could go to you. It had started in your early days as a cadet, supporting your comrades as best you could and the degree to which people knew you could be quite motherly only escalated when you became a Captain. You’d often see a new recruit struggling after an expedition and even though your eyes held a harsher look on the battlefield, they would soften around your comrades. You would listen to them try describe and process the horrors they had seen or offer a shoulder for them to cry on. Sometimes you’d encourage your comrades to write to their families after moments like this, because being reminded of who loved them was most important and many a time you’d post these letters yourself.
It became a thing after a while, if a soldier wanted to get something to their family, they were directed to you and you took care of the rest, all the while exuding such a caring demeanor that the soldiers would walk away a bit brighter than when they’d arrived.
Your motherly instinct only intensified once the 104th cadets joined the Scouts. You just wanted to protect them instantly, no other scouts had entered the survey corps under more horrific conditions than they had. Not only had some of them seen the horrors of the Titan’s attack on Wall Maria years beforehand, but to be in Trost when an attack happened again? You thought it was absolutely horrific for kids to have witnessed that. It wasn’t just what they had been through, but the fact that they survived it all and still stood before Erwin on recruitment day prepared to accept his grim survival statistics. These recruits had your respect.
There had been a rumor circulating about meat being stolen from one of the storehouses on the exact day Trost had been attacked. Certainly, the incident was at the very bottom of anyone’s priorities, so it was never properly investigated, but you hardly knew of a seasoned soldier who would risk it and the more you thought about it, you were willing to bet it had been someone from the 104th. Although you very much doubted there had been much time for them to enjoy it, even if they had.
The Scouts were busy preparing for the 57th expedition when you called the new recruits to the mess hall, just before the curfew. They’d stood before you in a perfect line while you leaned against a table and took in the sight of them. “I heard meat went missing from a storehouse in Trost.” Some of them grew visibly pale and you waited a few more moments, curious as to what they would do. No one said anything, not one of them sold out the other and you smiled. “Take a seat, you look tired after training all day.”
You turned to walk into the kitchen without waiting to see if they’d moved, they seemed nervous around you, no doubt thinking they were in trouble. They soon found out it was the exact opposite when you emerged from the kitchen moments later with a platter of meat, already cut into portions to avoid any potential fights and a plate piled with bread rolls to make sandwiches.
“No way…”
“Is this real?”
“It cant be…”
“Oh it is.” You hummed and placed the platter in the center of the table before dishing out plates, knives and forks to them all. It may have cost you a large chunk of your wages but seeing the look on their faces was more than worth it. “Don’t make too much noise or you’ll be thrown out, if you need anything else my office is across the way, two doors down on the left. Leave the dishes when you’re done, enjoy.” Offering them a bright smile you left them in peace, looks of disbelief still staring at you.
They must have been okay for the evening since none of them came by your office and when you returned that night ready to clean the dishes, you found your heart swelling with joy at seeing them all stacked on the table, freshly washed and respectfully returned.

It was safe to say you were attached to the 104th after that and they had a soft spot for you. You’d often have Sasha outside your door wondering if you could sneak her more food. Connie and Jean would often request that you sent their letters to their family, but Jean was always a bit more secretive about doing so, each time he would say “Not a word to anyone else.” It seemed like his friends would make fun of him if they knew, but the secret was safe with you. On one occasion Mikasa’s scarf had torn slightly and you’d offered to stitch it, she’d been utterly hesitant to leave it in your care, to say the least, so you asked her to join you while you worked. Any time you were present for Hange experimenting Eren’s Titan ability, you were quick to suggest taking breaks when you saw it was going too far. And more often than not, when you brought water supplies to your squads training sessions, you would bring extra for Levi’s as well. Each time he seemed to greet you with a “Tch. You spoil them.”
Levi could see you clearly loved the brats and they loved you, it was more than obvious how that seemed to extend to the rest of the regiment too. Sometimes he caught people blushing and bashfully talking to you and on the rare occasion he caught someone looking at you in less than a decent way and nudging others. There was nothing that seemed to ignite his possessiveness quicker and he would appear instantly in front of them, a dark look in his eyes as he would say “Oi, keep your filthy thoughts to yourself. You’re on stable duty for the next month.” Goodness help whoever gawked at him or tried to answer back “Make that two months.” He would only arch his eyebrow slightly, challenging them for him to go on.
Nobody seemed to take particular note of when he would swoop in like this, they did not question why, at least as far as he could tell. If anything they always seemed eager to get away from the intensity of the glare he would pin them with. Levi had accepted that he would protect you like this without you even noticing, because you were utterly caring and deserved to be protected at all costs.
The truth was, he loved you, more than words could describe. He felt entirely undeserving of your love, but you were the missing piece in his life. Levi was complete with you.
Which was why when he walked back to their shared room at the end of the day and opened the door to see you with your head in your hands surrounded by a pile of the Scouts capes, he was by your side instantly.

Everything seemed to build up on that day. You could hardly get through your paperwork without someone knocking at your door, some wanted to discuss what had just happened on a recent expedition and you’d been more than willing to listen to them and offer some words of comfort. Yet the day went on and fellow comrades delivered more and more letters that would need to be posted. Many were the final words of scouts that had taken preventative measures before going on the expedition and entrusted them to their friends who now left them in your care. The weight of the day seemed to fall heavily on your shoulders and when you did eventually get some time to yourself, you’d eyed the stack of letters, a looming reminder of the lives that were lost and you could hardly concentrate. It was difficult to say no to someone when they asked for a request. It felt selfish even. You’d been a veteran long enough to know just how this job went, that these hard days were not often and your comrades only meant the best, but logic wasn’t helping you cope with feeling overwhelmed.
So when a soft knock came at your door and you told the person to enter, you found your expression softening at the sight of Armin and Jean standing there, with a pile of green capes in their arms.
“Captain y/n…” Armin started almost nervously and he averted his eyes for a second. “Some of our capes got torn in the last expedition.”
“We wanted to ask if you’d help fix them for us.” Jean finished and how could you say no? With them standing there in your doorway, Armin looking like he didn’t want to ask because it would cause a hassle and the sight of the pile indicating that almost all of them had experienced some issue with their uniform.
You stood up from your desk and walking towards them you moved your arms in front of you “Of course, leave them with me.”
“We can carry them for you!” Armin quickly offered, but you shook your head, you could see how tired they looked. It had only been a day since returning after all. “It’s alright, I’ll take care of it, don’t worry.” Managing to offer them a bright smile, after a few seconds of reluctance they stepped forward to place the pile in your hands. They’d thanked you before leaving and you stood there for a second with the pile in your hands before a soft sigh passed your lips and you walked back to your shared room, hardly being able to see over the pile.
Some soldiers asked if you were fixing capes on your walk there and if you could fix theirs too. You could just about offer a small smile “Sure” and they promised to leave them by your office later.
The capes had just been worn on the last expedition, so when you entered your lovers office that was adjoined to your shared room, you decided the best hygienic option was to place them on the spare visitors chair in front of Levi’s desk. You didn’t think he’d appreciate bringing uniforms that would need to be fixed and washed into the clean bedroom. Taking a seat in the second visitors chair in front of the desk a soft sigh escaped your lips at the sight of the pile. You were exhausted to say the least, emotionally and physically, the day having taken a lot out of you. You’d grabbed your sewing kit to begin working on the capes, managing to stitch the small tears and rips in a few of the capes before your hands were wavering and you were pricking your own finger more often than stitching the fabric. It was a useless attempt.
Placing down the cape, needle and thread in defeat, you sat forward to hold your face in your hands feeling tears form in your eyes. You weren’t sure why you were feeling like this, normally you could support your comrades in whatever way they needed, but today it was draining and you should have said no to a few things, yet those words never formed easily for you.
“Y/n?” Levi asked gently and you startled slightly seeing him crouched beside you, his hand lingering in the air near your arm. You hadn’t heard him enter, let alone get so close to you and you only wiped away the few tears that had fallen trying to act like you hadn’t let the day consume you.
“Levi, sorry, I didn’t hear you come in.”
He visibly frowned and stayed exactly where he was, before reaching out to hold your face in his hands. His thumb brushed against your skin gently, wiping away the few more tears that slipped loose. It stirred a comforting feeling in you to see Levi give you such a caring look that you often gave him and so many others. Your lip quivered involuntarily and before you knew it Levi wrapped his arms around you pulling you into his chest in a secure embrace.
“Its alright, you’re alright.” His voice murmured tenderly, and he placed a kiss on your head while you remained buried in his hold. Neither of you moved for a while, you were content to have Levi’s strong arms holding you lovingly close to his chest and his hand thread through your hair in a soothing rhythm. You always found peace near him and slowly, but surely the overwhelming feelings you’d been consumed by only minutes ago started to ease from your body.
“What happened?”
You were grateful your face was buried in his chest. “It doesn’t sound like a big deal if I say it.” You mumbled, half hiding in his arms.
Levi moved slightly to get a better look at your expression and you inwardly cursed that you couldn’t have hid from him for longer. He gave you a pointed stare “Tell me what happened y/n, let me help you.” The look in his eyes was the same soft one he always reserved for you and a small smile formed on your lips. “It was just the day – the demands of it, it all caught up on me.” Your voice fell more quiet towards the end.
A soft sigh passed his lips and Levi closed his eyes just for a moment “You’re too good to them, all of them… you should say no more often.”
“That’s easier said than done.”
“I’ll tell them no for you.”
The smile widened on your lips more as you imagined how that would happen, no doubt some cursing would be involved. You shook your head “Not necessary Levi, I’ll be okay tomorrow.” Truthfully you loved taking care of others and you would be more than happy to continue to do so, but maybe after a short break.
“Tch, fine.”
Levi loosened his secure embrace and stood up properly before offering you his hand. Hesitating only for a moment caused Levi to arch his eyebrows and you glanced towards the still large pile of capes, the work you’d done so far was not even close enough to make a difference. “I should finish these first, I’ll join you afterwards.”
“Who owns them?”
“Your squad” Trying to admit it casually was your best bet. Practically no one knew of their relationship, least of all Levi’s squad and you wondered if they had been so concerned over the state of their uniform out of apprehension of their Captain seeing the state of it. It was ironic their attempt to keep it quiet ended up leading to what they tried to avoid.
“Don’t tell me the brats can’t stitch their own uniforms.” His expression grew serious and deadpanned and you ran through the options of how to smoothly get everyone out of this one.
“Well they’re only kids and I imagine their mothers –”
“Tch. Don’t give me that, you’re coddling them y/n. They fight Titan’s, I’m sure they can stitch fabric.”
“I’m sure some of them can, but I just wanted to help–”
Calloused warm hands placed themselves on the side of your face and your gaze was brought to meet Levi’s, the serious expression softened again as he looked at you and his thumb brushed lightly against your skin. “I know you want to help them, but not at the expense of what you need. Promise me you’ll take care of yourself more.”
Rendered speechless by his words, you could admit he had a point and could only nod once, accepting his words. “Alright, I’ll try.” It seemed to satisfy him enough and he leaned over to press a chaste kiss to your lips. “Let’s go to bed then.”
Once both of you had changed out of your uniform and into the clothes you’d sleep in, you found Levi laying in bed first. He pulled back the duvet for you to move under and you gleefully lay down beside him just as his arms wrapped around your body and held you close to him. Moving your head to lay on his chest, his arm hung loosely over your waist as his slender fingers found their way to the ends of your hair, softly twirling strands around his fingers. Between the exhaustion from the day and the calming rhythm of his fingers, you found yourself slowly being lulled to sleep with his steady heartbeat and comforting presence.

Levi’s insomnia wasn’t nearly as bad as it was before he met you, but it was still present in his life. Normally he would be content to just lay there holding you in his arms and fall into a trance of reassurance hearing your soft breathing, but he’d been irked by how much of yourself you’d given to be reduced to tears. As carefully as he could and utterly slowly, Levi had eased himself from your arms late that night, instead replacing where he’d laid with a pillow and he froze for a few moments as you shifted in your sleep, wondering if he’d get away with it. This was something he’d only done once before when he’d needed to go to the bathroom, but he figured now was just as important.
Levi was relieved when his movement didn’t wake you up and he leaned over to place a gentle kiss to your head before silently leaving the room. Lighting a candle in his office, his jaw set at seeing the pile of capes again, the annoyance returning. Those damn brats didn’t know how good you were to them. That night Levi stayed up, hand stitching each tear and rip expertly, until they looked almost brand new. Not long after he threw them all into a laundry hamper and made to wash the uniforms before hanging them up to dry. It didn’t take long before he washed his hands after dealing with those dirty clothes and slipped back under the covers with you, managing to avoid disturbing you this time too and the stern words he would have with the brats in the morning were his last thoughts as he slipped into an uneasy sleep.

A clean laundry basket piled with freshly washed capes was slammed down on the table the next morning. Levi pinned a sharp glare on his squad as they sat eating breakfast in the mess hall, the few of them that were raising spoons to their lips froze instantly sensing his mood and they rather reluctantly looked towards their Captain.
“Explain why a pile of your fucking ruined capes were left with Y/n.” None of them moved, frozen to the spot and not willing to offer an answer. It only caused Levi’s eyebrows to furrow slightly, he would not relent until this was sorted, this situation was not going to happen again and he’d make sure of it.”
“They were torn and ripped, we thought Captain Y/n could help us.” Mikasa offered the explanation, seemingly taking the pressure off of anyone else responding.
“Did you consider when exactly she would have time to do that?” They remained quiet again, pinned under his gaze. “Y/n takes good fucking care of you damn brats.” They shrank slightly under his words, but this was too important for him to coddle them the way you did, he wouldn’t stand for anyone running you into the ground. “Take care of her too.” With that he left them with their freshly repaired capes and not another word on the matter, but when they found themselves with a more grueling training session than usual, he wouldn’t say it was completely unrelated.
⊱ ────── {.⋅ ➴ ⋅.} ────── ⊰
Despite promising to Levi to take care of yourself more, he was taking matters into his own hands for most of that day. Your heart had filled with appreciation for him seeing how he’d taken care of the capes and he’d brushed it off, but you thanked him anyway. Halfway through the day, he brought a tray of tea to your office and took a pile of your paperwork to sort through the details he could do. After dinner that night, Levi insisted you both went on a walk. It was something you both often enjoyed to do, a short reprieve from the busyness of the day to just spend time with one another.
As the sun set over the walls, the both of you walked side by side through the streets that were growing quieter. Levi’s hand had brushed against yours every now and then, distracting you from the casual conversation and bringing a smile to your face each time. Your relationship was a private one and Levi wasn’t particularly fond of public displays of affection, so only once most of the street had cleared did his fingers finally lace with yours.
By the time you both came back to the barracks, the courtyard was practically empty and darkness had crept over the sky, a faint orange glow was cast on their surroundings coming from the lights inside. Pausing for a second, you moved to stand in front of him, resting your hand on his arm while you moved to place a small kiss to his cheek. “Thank you Levi, I had a good day.”
His lips quirked into a soft smile “Don’t thank me y/n, I love you.”
“I love you too.” Those words seemed to cause his smile to widen slightly and you found it mirroring in your own expression as you both glanced at each other full of care. Gravitating towards each other, Levi angled his face towards yours and captured your lips lovingly. The kiss was soft and slow, at first, until your lips parted slightly and Levi’s tongue grazed your lips in such a sensually teasing way. His hands wrapped around your waist, pulling your body close while your arms wound their way around his neck with utter familiarity.
“Shit – go back! Go back!”
Both of you froze instantly at the sound of familiar voices, the moment between you instantly shattering from the intrusion of someone else. Levi looked over your shoulder and narrowed his eyes in disbelief of seeing the shocked and stunned looks his squad were giving them. You managed to turn in enough time to see Eren frantically trying to persuade his friends to turn around back the way they came, but sensing both of you looking at him, Eren froze too. It seemed it was too late for either yourself and Levi or his squad from avoiding this.
“What the fuck are you brats doing now.”
Your hands dropped from around Levi’s neck and you went to stand by him instead, rubbing the back of your neck awkwardly at the situation.
“We – uh, we – “ Eren tried to form an answer and looked to the others frantically hoping someone else would intervene, but Jean only pushed Eren forward a bit to speak on their behalf and he whipped around quickly an annoyed “Oi!” falling from his mouth and directed at his friend. His protest didn’t make a difference, since being pushed forward meant that Eren was now the focal point of Levi’s glare. “We came to find Captain y/n to apologize for overloading her with our work and offer this as an apology.”
With Eren remaining pinned under Levi’s intense glare, Sasha stepped forward outstretching the small paper bag. You stared at the kids in front of you, they didn’t need to apologise at all and you vaguely wondered what Levi had said to them. After standing still for a few moments you stepped forward to and when Sasha placed the bag on your hand, you glanced down at it, then at Levi’s squad.
“It’s your favourite from the market stall you like so much.” Connie offered, a wide grin on his face like it was the best idea in the world and it was, your heart was melting with the thought they’d put into this.
“I wouldn’t be too thankful yet Captain, Sasha ate one on the way here.”
“Mikasa!”
You covered your mouth with your hand, concealing the smile that was forming on your lips. In a way, you would have been worried if Sasha hadn’t eaten one.
“Thank you, you didn’t have to.”
“You take great care of us Captain, all of us. It’s the least we can do.” Armin offered and slowly the tension in the area that had been there moments beforehand eased away. You cast a look in Levi’s direction to notice the small smile that was on the edge of his lips, as if it was in approval.
“We’re eh – also sorry for interrupting your moment!”
“Tch. Just leave before I change my mind and give you all extra cleaning tomorrow.” The annoyance returned to his expression and you really did have to hide how much your smile was growing. If only they’d left it at the first apology, they could have managed to leave without reminding Levi again.
That seemed to make them clear the area quickly and the sound of their footsteps faded. “Captain Levi with Captain y/n?! I can’t believe it…” Even at a distance from them, you could both hear Eren’s voice work through his disbelief.
“She’s so different than him, how did they even get together?”
“I think they’re suited for one another, maybe they’re in love!”
“Damn brats they talk so fucking loud.” Levi grumbled as his squad’s voices faded in the distance, still discussing what they’d found out that evening. You supposed that was your relationship exposed to the whole regiment now, it wouldn’t take long for someone else to overhear.
You couldn’t find it in you to mind, your heart still soaring from the thoughtful gift they had gotten you and spending such a wonderful day with Levi. Opening the paper bag your eyes practically lit up with glee at seeing your favourite treat inside and Levi peered in to see as well before his hand swooped in and took one for himself.
“Hey!”
“What? I was the one who stitched their capes, I’ve earned some of this.” He took a bite of the food, a vague smug expression on his face and you only shook your head, wrapping your arm around his. “Next time they have a problem, I’ll send them to you then, since you’re so willing to help.” You hummed the reply, earning yourself an unamused look from Levi and you laughed softly. The both of you began to walk back inside to share the rest of what was in the bag and to relax for the evening with a cup of tea and each other’s company.
🔥The Angelus Mortis (1/2)🔥
A/N: Hey everyone, I’m back! I apologize for the really long wait but I wanted to try something different where, instead of posting one story at a time as soon as I finish it, I wrote five stories and then I went back and edited them in the order I wrote them. It took so long because I’ve been writing a ton in the past week. Hopefully I can make up for the long wait by giving you guys several stories in the next few days or so. Thank you so much for the support on “Scalding”, I was not expecting it but it makes my really happy to know you guys liked it ❤️. Now, without further ado, here is my next Levi x Reader fic!
Warning: This one is super long so I actually had to split it up into two parts so it wouldn’t be such a huge pill to swallow. I will post the next chapter asap though, so keep an eye out for part two!
Summary: Erwin finds a dangerous assassin in the Underground while Levi is on a solo mission.

~~~
Erwin sighed and rubbed his temples to try to dispel the headache that was already building there, the message from the Military Police on his desk, mocking him. He glared at it, his eyes scanning over the words again.
Gods they were so incapable. He would never voice his frustrations aloud, but he wished, for once, they could deal with their own issues. Fight their own battles without having to drag the Survey Corps back to do all of the hard work for them.
Despite his annoyance, Erwin would not have normally been so frustrated, but this situation was different than usual due to the fact that Captain Levi was gone from the base. He had been sent off on a solo mission to get some more information for Erwin on the movements of the violent gangsters that were fighting with one of the Military Police branches.
“What’s today’s headache about?” The loud, chipper voice of his girlfriend, Hanji, made him look up and grunt at her and the stack of finished reports she held in her arms.
🔥The Angelus Mortis (2/2)🔥
A/N: Here is part 2 of “The Angelus Mortis”! Part 1 is linked below if you haven’t read that part yet. Thank you for reading!
Part 1
~~~
The next day, Erwin woke up early to visit (Y/N) one last time before he had to hand her over to the MP’s. He sighed in disappointment. He thought he had been getting through to her, especially after she had given him her name, but he was left with nothing but false hope when she remained adamant about not answering any of his questions. He ran one of his large hands through his blonde locks in frustration as he made his way down the stone steps into the gloomy dungeon below.
He had no idea why he felt so conflicted when it came to this woman, why he had a feeling she was a better person than she was letting on. His heart battled with his brain as he walked, causing him to groan when he felt a headache begin to form. Why did he feel like he was missing something? Something important? He knew she would be a valuable asset to the Survey Corps if she cooperated, her strength rivaling that of Levi’s which would give them two vital weapons on the field. And he was sure that under Levi’s supervision she would flourish, maybe even develop a friendship with the sullen man. Maybe that’s why he felt so strange, because it was a missed opportunity?

🐉 Song Recommendation: “Dear Fellow Traveller” By: Sea Wolf 🐉
~~~
Levi looked up from where he was sitting on the sofa in his lover’s office, reading a book, at the sound of (Y/N)’s pained groan. He found her trying to suppress a wince as pain shot up her spine, one of her hands reaching back to rub between her shoulder blades while she tried to focus on her work. Levi sighed. He knew she had injured herself somehow, either through training or on the last expedition, but she refused to tell him how or where she had gotten hurt. On top of that, she also refused to let him help her fix it, always batting his hands away and claiming she was fine. He knew she had a high pain tolerance, always had, but now he was getting annoyed with her. She just needed to shove down her pride and let him help her. She was human after all, she clearly wasn’t immune to pain.
Despite her obvious discomfort, (Y/N) continued to work diligently. It was rare that she was working later than him, but lately more work had been dumped on her desk per her request, her way of trying to help her superiors by lessening their load. Levi couldn’t help but feel pride swell in his chest as he watched her write. She was so hardworking, always trying to pitch in where she could. He knew she was tired, but she kept pushing herself to try to take some of the weight off the shoulders of her superiors, claiming they did way more than necessary and it should be no problem for her to help them out a little. She wasn’t even a superior officer, still only a cadet, despite her older age. It was that determination and willingness to take care of others and work hard that drew Levi to her in the first place. It was also what was about to give her a promotion to Squad Leader, one he knew she deserved as he watched her tackle the horde of papers in front of her.
A/n: I think I’m addicted to the reader being motherly so thank you for requesting this. I also listened to ‘arcade’ the orchestral version on repeat while writing so ahahah sorry for how intense it gets. This was also loosely (not a spoiler for it though) inspired by one of the chapters in the aot2 game. Enjoy <3
It took hours of convincing on Hange’s end to persuade Erwin to think capturing more Titan’s was a good idea. When Hange’s proposal was brought up at a weekly meeting, multiple squad leaders present turned it down. It sparked debate about whether it was a useful application of their precious resources and especially after last time, it was hard to persuade some of them that it could be worth it again. Losing Sawney and Bean had been a personal loss for Hange, but there were others who saw it as an insult to the resources they’d put into the experiment. The whole while Erwin mediated the meeting and for the most part, you’d stayed out of it. On a rare occasion you would pitch in, always in favour of Hange’s argument, it was important to advance their knowledge, but you hardly engaged in the others dissension.
“Very well. Its clear the opinion is split. Hange, I support your proposal,” at these words Hange’s spirits seemed to visibly lift “however, it will be up to each squad leader to decide whether their squad will take part.” Their shoulders slumped again at Erwin’s words, after all, the divide in opinion had been so strong, it was not looking favorably that many would join.
“I’m happy to join Hange.” You put forward to first word of support and Hange offered you an appreciative nod. A weighty silence fell over the room and for a second no one else spoke. You wondered if your squad and Hange’s would be enough, it wouldn’t be easy, but it could be done.
Runaway Part 1 (Levi x Reader)
Summary: As a brilliant scientist of the Survey Corps -and a researching buddy of Hange's- you've started discovering things about the Titans that the government has tried so hard to keep in the dark. During the Uprising Arc, the MPs come after you and chase you down. Little do they know that you're Captain Levi's girlfriend and they'll have to go through him first if they wish to go after you.
Part 1 >>> Part 2
She knew it wasn’t Levi when a bullet came flying her way. (Y/n)’s reflexes kicked in. She jumped out of the way. She looked at the table where she had all her samples. Her eyes widened. No! There was no way she was going to let it all go to waste. She had to protect those samples. She had to protect her notebook and her research. It had all the answers. It had everything they needed.
(Y/n) saw two soldiers from the Military Police barging in with their rifles in their hands. She kicked her chair to their way. They moved out of the way and pointed their rifles at her. She heard footsteps from behind her and before she even knew it, a hand was around her neck from behind, choking her. (Y/n) gritted her teeth. Bastards.
She stepped on the man’s leg powerfully with her own. He winced. She elbowed him on the jaw and the other two started firing. She grabbed the man that she had elbowed and she used him to shield her body from the bullets. The man’s blood spilled on her clothes. Dammit. Her skirt was ruined.
“Just take her out already!” One of them shouted to the other, but before they had the chance to place down their guns and attack on hand-to-hand combat someone else attacked them from behind.
Levi’s punches and kicks were rough, fast, and precise. It only took a few of them for the MPs to fall down unconscious. (Y/n) let down the man that had been shot at many times only for Levi’s hand to find its way around her waist and pull her protectively against him. His eyes, wide in alarm, met her own.
“Those bastards didn’t hurt you, did they?!” Levi asked worriedly.
His thumb found her cheek making sure he had her attention. He was breathless. He must have been running. And, of course, he had been running. He had to find her as fast as possible. He had to keep her safe. Coming in Trost was incredibly foolish of her. Alas, he knew the importance of her research.
(Y/n) shook her head. She escaped from his arms and she started stuffing her samples back in her bag as hastily as she could, and most important of all, her notebook.
“We need to get you out of here,” Levi grabbed her hand and started dragging her away with him.
“Why would the MPs attack me?!” (Y/n) asked as they ran downstairs. His fingers were almost painfully tight around her own.
“Because you know things you’re not supposed to,” Levi answered but he heard footsteps.
He urged her to get into one of the many offices around the hall that they were now in. The offices were empty and dark. Night had finally fallen outside, but the halls had torches all around that were bringing enough light in the Survey Corps HQ. That office was empty and dark as well. They should be able to hide.
There were more MPs. Of course, they’d send an entire battalion for her. She was Captain Levi's childhood friend. She had survived living in the Underground. A talented Lieutenant of the Survey Corps. There’s no way merely three MPs would be enough to take her out. And Levi’s assumptions were correct. A hand was thrown around her protectively as he leaned and peeked through the keyhole.
“Do you think they got her?”
“I did hear a couple of shots, sir, but I’m not so sure,”
Levi was right. They were many. He could take them out on his own empty-handed and he wouldn’t break a sweat, but he had to take her out of there as fast as possible. He turned at (y/n). Her back pressed against the door. She tried to whisper something, but his fingers found her lips, sealing them back closed. They had reached the ground floor. They would be able to escape through the windows.
He nodded his head at the direction of the windows in the office and she nodded. If she didn’t know him as well as she did, he wouldn’t be able to tell her an entire plan through just one look. His fingers were still tight around her own and they approached the windows. Much to their luck, the stables were right beside that part of the building. He pulled the window open and he jumped out. She jumped out as well, careful not to make a sound. It wasn’t too high, but high enough to make her doubt herself.
But he caught her. Levi’s arms were tight around her, and he cursed when he realised that footsteps were once again approaching. Of course, they’d check the stables. It was still dark. There were no lights at the back of the building and anybody could grab a horse and sneak away.
Levi turned only to see that they were pretty damn close. There was no way they had enough time to grab a horse and start riding away without having the damn MPs chasing them. Maybe he’d have to fight after all. But (y/n) had a better idea in mind. Her hand found his shoulder, drawing his attention.
“Kiss me,”
Levi turned and looked at her confusedly. “(Y/n), this is no time for-”
But she grabbed his black jacket bringing him closer and before he had the chance to finish what he had to say, her lips crushed against his own and he instantly forgot what he was trying to say. She had never kissed him so ferociously before. Her tongue met the back of his throat and he groaned. Shit. He was beginning to catch up on what she was trying to do. But still, this was too risky and too exciting, but brilliant nonetheless.
His hand found her hip, settling a leg around his waist and he kissed her back just as ferociously as she did. He knocked her back against the brick wall. His fingers clutched in her thigh. Levi bit down on her lip and she let out the filthiest moan he had ever heard in his life. It made his blood go south. Fuck. If they kept this up, they’d be putting more than a show outside the freaking stables.
“Everything clear, officer?”
A superior’s voice came from behind and the officers found themselves unable to come up with a clear answer. All they had were two people making out at the back of the building and they doubted if the woman was (F/n) (L/n). (F/n) (L/n) should be on the run by now. These two were probably drunkards from a nearby inn and they had just ended up out there.
“Everything clear, sir!”
“Get your asses back here!”
“Yes, sir!”
The MPs left fast enough, but Levi wouldn’t stop kissing her until she actually pulled back. Her taste, still on his lips. His hands still too tight around her, but she still managed to get away. How could she always know how to escape his grasp? It frustrated him. She still caught his hand and guided him over to the stables to get a horse and ride away.
“Let’s go!” She whispered.
“R- Right,”
Compose yourself!
