Kudo Shinichi - Tumblr Posts
This prompt doesn’t exactly have a ship? I’d like to see Ran and Sonoko helping Shinichi after a case he solved. ( Also I hope you have a good day. Sending virtual hugs if you want 🙂)
Friendship is the best ship. Any ship also includes friendship, or none at all, rather. Thank you. And thank you for the prompt. Not sure if this is exactly what you were looking for, but I tried my best.
Aftermath
In the aftermath of a brutal case, Shinichi stares past the culprit as he’s cuffed and led to the back of a police cruiser.
Things don’t happen for a reason. Things just happen, one after another, unceasing. He wishes for once things would just stop happening.
Shinichi shakes his head, and limps towards Inspector Ayanokoji to give his follow up, only to be stopped by one Suzuki Sonoko, who steps in front of him with her arms stretched out as if to block his path. “Oh no you don’t!” she says. Blood mats her hair, her headband stained, and she’s a little bit sooty.
It’s superficial, but Shinichi still winces when he sees it. He wishes the culprit didn't try to take her as a hostage. Then he frowns. “Sonoko, let me by.”
“You’re going straight to the hotel, Shinichi-kun!” Sonoko says, stamping her foot.
Shinichi crosses his arms and narrows his eyes. “Yeah?”
“Yeah!” Sonoko says in response, crossing her arms and leaning forward. "Ran's not here to ride herd on you so that means I have to. Annoying."
"Yes, you are," Shinichi grumps, attempting to push past her.
Sonoko pushes herself up on the balls of her feet for more height, and then she hooks her arm around his neck, pulling him down and trapping Shinichi under her armpit.
"Hey!" Shinichi yelps, stumbling, but Sonoko jerks him forward anyway, strong-arming him to one of the Suzuki company cars and shoving him in.
"Get in, loser."
"This is a kidnapping," Shinichi complains, but Sonoko ignores him and gets in behind him, pushing him over and slamming the door.
"This is an intervention," she says, cutting her eyes at him.
Shinichi scoffs.
"Our hotel," she says, before pulling a nail file out and smoothing the rough edges where she'd scrabbled for purchase on the edge of the building.
They ride in silence until she's done with her nails on one hand, then she picks up the phone. "Ran, get dressed and be in my room in like, five. No, no arguing, this is non negotiable." She hangs up and begins work on her other hand with the file.
Shinichi crosses his arms and stares at her.
Sonoko looks up, and then snorts and goes back to her phone.
"I was fine," Shinichi says finally.
"You're an idiot and you would have been there all night," Sonoko says. "You forget I grew up with you, moron."
"Like abducting me is any better?" Shinichi asks.
"Yes, actually. You should thank me."
"In what universe?" Shinichi says. Though he might be grateful. Just a little. He's tired and it's been a long day.
Sonoko rolls her eyes, and the car is silent until they arrive back at the hotel, where Sonoko also proceeds to strong-arm him to her room, a small suite.
Which is how he ends up blinking at Ran as she opens the door for them with Sonoko's hand clamped down on the back of his neck.
Ran giggles, and so he lets Sonoko maneuver him to the sofa in front of the television before forcing him to sit down, limp obvious and in full force.
"Look at his ankle, will you Ran?"
"Sonoko!" Shinichi says, annoyed. The last thing he needs is Ran getting worried.
"I'm gonna go take a shower. Behave, Shinichi-kun!"
"I don't even want to be here in the first place," Shinichi says.
"Uh huh," Sonoko says, and slams the door to the bathroom, leaving Shinichi and Ran together in silence.
"Which ankle is it?" Ran says, thankfully no nonsense, grabbing a compression bandage from the first aid kit she brought with her.
Shinichi says, "...Left."
She sits down beside him, pulling his leg into her lap, easing off his shoe, then his sock. It's already swollen. Ran clicks her tongue. "Did you even get this looked at?"
"No." Shinichi's just glad Sonoko's not here to tell her he ducked out from medical. "It's just a sprain."
"It's not 'just' anything," Ran says. "You should take better care of yourself."
Shinichi can't hide his wince as she probes his ankle, then begins wrapping it tightly, but not tight enough to restrict blood flow. The pressure feels good, relieving, and she's done it often enough her movements are steady and sure. He wonders how many times she's done this for karate, and then more darkly, how many times she's done it after getting dragged into a case with him. More than she should have.
Once she's done, she grabs a few pillows from the bed, then moves the coffee table in front of the sofa.
Shinichi doesn't have to be badgered into elevating his foot.
“I’ll go get some ice after a couple of hours, okay?” Ran says.
"Hope you're decent!" Sonoko calls out.
"Sonoko!" Ran and Shinichi say in unison.
Just then, a knock on the door. "Room service!"
"Oh, goodie," Sonoko says, and comes back from the door pushing a cart filled with food. A big bowl of caramel popcorn and two smaller bowls. There's boxes of candy, water and juice and soda, and even a sandwich tray and fruit tray. "That's kettle corn for you, Ran, and plain for mister plain and boring here."
“Thank you, Sonoko,” Ran says.
“What’s all that for?” Shinichi asks.
“Can’t you deduce it, Mister Detective?” Sonoko says. When he gives her a flat look, she continues, “Movie night!” She waves her hands in a flourish towards the TV.
“I’m not watching anything with Brad Pitt,” Shinichi says immediately.
Sonoko scoffs. “Considering the ‘audience,’ I brought a selection,” she slams three boxes on the table, two noticibly bigger than the other. Elementary, Enola Holmes, and Miss Sherlock. “I know your detective nerd self wouldn’t watch anything else. Pick one.”
“What about this one, Shinichi?” Ran says. “She’s supposed to be Sherlock Holmes’ sister.”
“He never had a sister,” Shinichi says in half-protest, and apparently that’s enough of a complaint for Sonoko to decide on it and put it in the player while Ran sits down beside him.
Sonoko grabs the remote and distributes the popcorn and drinks, and then for some reason she sits down on the other side of him, pushing him into Ran with a wink and a nudge, and then she doesn’t move.
“Sonoko!” Ran scolds, but she laughs and accepts it.
Shinichi’s annoyed with it for all of two seconds, and then he remembers how much she’s gone through today, just for the simple act of being in his vicinity, and lets it go. Sonoko’s good at having a brave face, but he remembers her frightened one all too well, and that’s why he slips a comforting arm around her. Sonoko must need it more than he realizes, because not only does she not say anything about it, she leans into it, resting her head against his shoulder.
For good measure, he slips his arm around Ran, as well. It’s hard too, to wait, not hearing things for hours and hours.
“I’m glad you’re alright,” she whispers.
“I’m glad you weren’t there,” he replies. Sonoko shouldn’t have been there, either. Neither one of them should have to deal with the work that’s by now ingrained deeply in his blood.
It’s not hard to get engrossed in the film, which turns out to be much better than he was expecting. Sonoko’s commentary drops off around the middle of the film, and Shinichi looks down to find her dead asleep.
He turns and Ran too, has faded, resting her head against his shoulder, all of the stress and anxiety of the day knocking them both neatly out.
Shinichi’s now being used as a glorified pillow. He can’t say he minds though. They’re both here where he can keep an eye on them.
Once the credits roll, he shifts just enough to grab the remote and turn the television off. Instead of moving and disturbing them, he just tilts his head back and closes his eyes.
It’s been a long day for him too.
OH MY GOSH IT’S BEAUTIFUL!
Thank you so much!!

may I present...an in-universe meme? :3
This. This is gorgeous
If ya really think about it, Shinichi is a rich traumatic sad boi but we tend to forget about the rich part.
Edit: Adding onto this, Ok so the manor that Shinichi’s family live is thought to be haunted, referring back to that episode where the detective boys suggested to investigate the Kudo Mansion but didn’t knew it was the Kudo mansion. New headcannon is that the Kudo manor isn’t actually that expensive and Yusaku and Yukiko looked at the manor and was like YUP WE’LL TAKE IT.
Didn't they think it was haunted because shinichi disappeared?
Hello my anonymous friend!
I’ll edit this later to get the reference / screenshots but specifically the detective boys didn’t know it was the Kudo mansion as they misread it as something else because of Kanji. Thus the episode ending with Conan trying to exclaim to them “THAT’S MY HOUSE!”
The haunted part itself was a boy who liked reading books! Which yes is Shinichi!
My theory was that it was considered haunted even before Shinichi was born! Or maybe they bought it even during Shinichi’s childhood! Either way you might actually have a point!
Here is the full page for the @conanredraw
Looking back, my god were there a lot of mistakes but I am grateful I took the opportunity to try this out!
Thank you so much for hosting this and I hope you all have an amazing day
Dear @jigen-papa
I Runecel/Celerine/ @lossinicognito (I know save the applause, I have 3 identities and a secret 4th if I should ever reveal that one haha!) am your giftee for the @dcmk-exchange ! Now I know what you are thinking.
Apologies for my random disappearance, I wasn’t sure how to reply to you in rythmatic format but I genuinely adored how you played along and I loved your poem it was so good!?
ALSO WHERE THE FUDGE IS MA BOI HEIJI!?!?
And to that I say!
This was supposed to originally be a multi chapter fic however! I didn't want to go beyond the deadline and may never know when the second chapter is completed so I at least wanted to make something for you before I go into the deep end haha.
Here is the ao3 version of the fanfic: https://archive.org/works/5321279
And I hope ya have an amazing day now without further a due!
Sonoko’s Confrontation With Love
The first time a conversation about phones and Shinichi was brought up resulting in the incarceration of one idiotic teenage detective occurred on a bright, and sunny day of which Sonoko was internally screaming in her thoughts. To say that Shinichi’s umpteeth attempt to disappear in the night like a tuxedo mask would ever be what caused Sonoko’s life to become so stressful would be the understatement of the century. That incident was the cherry on top of an amazing ice cream at best and a footnote on the most awful (but irresistible) trial exam book at worst, no. What made Sonoko’s life so stressful, in her opinion, would just be Shinichi’s entire existence.
"Sonoko, stop being so dramatic,” is probably what her best friend would say. Well, Ran, the most beautiful being to ever god damn exist on this planet. Have you ever stopped to consider that this is KUDO SHINICHI THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT?
“I know you don’t mean it.” Yes, Ran, she 100% means it, and it’s going to stay that way if Ran doesn’t shut up about the next murder case Shinichi finds himself in because the last murder case already was in Tropical Land and he solved it within an hour.
“It was 3 hours, Sonoko.” 3 HOUR HER BUT! At the end of the day, she knows he can finish quicker because THIS IS KUDO SHINICHI THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!
Hhe could easily solve that case if he wanted to, and he has a very amazing reason to do so as well! What gives him the right to leave such a beautiful lady like Ran towards her lonesomeness anyway? Anyone with eyes could snatch that beautiful angel away, taking her to high-budget cinema movie date and make out under the moonlight as Ran talks about how she successfully whooped another person in the ass. Heck, Sonoko could easily do it as well if she wanted two!
"Sonoko.” She bets it would be Sxhinichi’s as well! Imagine him coming back; ah, he would probably do one of those overly basic apologies that you would see in those romantic comedies that’s supposed to make the situation lighten up.
What will lighten up is his vision when Sonoko decided to beat the ever-loving daylight out of him.
“Sonoko” Then again, it’s much better if Ran was the one to do it with Sonoko at her side, punch him right in the gut as they both stare down at Shinichi’s rotting body before leaving him there.
Ran would hold her hand as they both could only gaze at the horizon, unsure of what their new-found freedom would hold but smiling, knowing it would be better.
“Sonoko!”
‘Rotten husband he is’ Sonoko thinks towards herself as she places herself amongst a poorly cushioned couch, he does nothing but torment the two. He would have been dead if Ran hadn’t want to marry him, and oh god; she’d probably go easy on him and then say something amongst the lines of.
‘Just don’t do it again,’ she would say to that bastard . It was probably best if Sonoko was the one to beat him up, teach him a lesson.
“Sonoko!” The imagining of Ran’s voice, an angelic choir with a acidic tinge reminiscent of those badass scenes in movies where the hot main character is holding a cool sword of which Sonoko would swoon for their rescue.
Yeah no Ran’s doing the beating. How could Sonoko not allow it with a voice like that? Heck, her presence is so strong that Sonoko might as well look like a fool by responding to her when she’s not even here.
“Yes Ran-chan?~” Sonoko's cheekish response becomes further more evident as she manoeuvres herself to be able to see behind her in expectation to see no one to respond to her.
“Don’t Ran-chan me!” Only to see the angel herself placing her hands on her hips with eyes ablaze as if she just witnessed a war crime. Sonoko would gladly be the one under that gaze under certain circumstances but sadly, today wasn’t one of them.
“I told you we shouldn’t have come, you were just recovering from illness!” Ran harshly protested leaning towards Sonoko's forehead to determine her current temperature.
Foreheads touching, Sonoko couldn’t help but stare with awe at the concerned look she was given by Ran whose deep lilac eyes could only stare at her with worry. Placing her hand amongst Ran’s silken hair, she give her head a few pets before flinging herself back onto the couch
“I’m fine Ran!” Sonoko exclaimed, dragging Ran down with her as Ran is placed by her side, head nestling on her shoulder in an attempt to look at something of which barely interests Sonoko.
It was probably the diary of which Sonoko was writing in with her internal Shinichi rants and her growing progress of becoming not sick.It was true that Sonoko was recovering but that doesn’t mean that Sonoko was unable to not stay at her house to fully recover. Wait, she's not at her house. . where is she?
Reclining alongside the couch she quickly paces herself up once more to scan the area of which with dread, she realised was not her room nor her couch. The wooden bench is decorated strongly amongst the grovery of nature surrounding her as she finds herself amidst a small crowd of people bustling around what seems to be a mall.
Shops were aligned quaintly organised as a staircase can be spotted signalling the entrance towards the cinema. Remembering the diary note she had entered, she quickly backtracked her memories towards her previous conversation with Ran about changing towards a different movie due to the movie (of which Sonoko had desperately wanted to watch) sharing too many themes with her disappeared beloved.
“So that’s why I was thinking about your husband,” Sonoko's dull groan filled the air, having finished her daily imaginary rant about Shinichi as she looked once more towards the movie selection on her pamphlet.
They had recently decided to go on a movie date due to the brat’s group of friends wanting to watch that new Kamen Yaiba they kept yapping about. Whilst the kids themselves tend to be left alone without surveillance, the group’s recent expedition resulted in a hostage situation and well. . .
A concerned parent will do what a concern does, resulting in the wife of Shinichi taking charge and declaring that she will be the one to take care of the kids in the meantime.
“Not my husband,” Ran countered, having now taken the pamphlet completely away from Sonoko to point at one of the movies that caught her interest.
“Stupid husband, I don’t feel like watching that one” Sonoko grumbled as she kicked her feet amongst the concrete floor before continuing her thought process.
It honestly would make sense why Sonoko had thought she was in the confinement of her luxurious room. Normally those imaginary rants are within the compounds of her room, feels safer there where she can ignore those thoughts of someone reading her thoughts and betraying Shinichi’s status amongst the media. She might hate the man but that doesn’t mean she wants to ruin his damned life, he already does enough of that.
‘How about this one? ' Sonoko pointed, notioning towards another romance movie of which she also wanted to watch but would have preferred to watch it at home.
“Is it possible if we pick something else?” Ran commented, eyeing on the watch on her wrist with great interest of which intrigued the confused Sonoko. “Preferably something under 2 hours”
‘Why’s that?” Sonoko queried, placing her slender arm amongst Ran’s broad shoulders in an attempt to see if there was anything else the queen herself couldn’t see.
“The movie is too long and if I don’t make it on time I won’t be able to strangle the person you just wanted to kill” Ran pointed, booping the shocked Sonoko on the nose as the confused female can only reboot.
“I said that out loud?”
“You don’t say stuff out loud?”
“RAN!” Sonoko puffed out, dragging out one of Ran’s hands as she quickly met Sonoko's forehead resulting in the two girls' foreheads to once more be touching.
“Just teasing,” Like the sun on a summer’s day, there was something truly intoxicating about Ran’s mischievous grin, the way just like her voice it is unexpected of when she will attack and thus Sonoko had a tendency to forget how cheeky Ran could be.
It would be like standing outside for too long, only to find out how immensely damaged you got from the sun resulting in the person going to the hospital and now they have skin cancer. . . ok that was a bit much.
Sonoko noted as she finally noticed the way Ran’s finger slowly pointed towards one of the movie suggestions.
To say Sonoko was unimpressed would be the opposite of an overstatement.
It was a movie adaption of both of her childhood’s friends' favourite tv series with both the mystery to appeal towards Shinichi and poetry to charm Ran. Sonoko could only nod along with disappointment, the poetry was nice but the audience wouldn’t hold a candle to the romance movie Sonoko had suggested. Goodbye potential love interests and hot men she could have sawn through watching the movie.
Hello nightmares of Shinichi staring like the shinigami himself, forcing Sonoko to listen more about his obsession with Sherlock. Don’t get Sonoko wrong, she two has raved towards Shinichi about her favourite obsessions (specifically romance) but to get that compared to a crime scene from one of his favourite books was not always a pleasant experience.
“Why can’t you just message him? I’m sure he can bother to read messages” Sonoko argued, sliding among a line of people waiting to buy a movie ticket.
“Well Sonoko, let me just grab my phone” Ran proclaimed, mimicking the movement of grabbing a phone out of her pocketed dress to only appear empty handed. “If memory serves me correctly I had lost my phone at an aquarium of which I told you about”
“You did?” Was now the best time for Sonoko’s memories to flunk on her now? Sonoko had specifically asked if she could be the one to gift her a phone with Ran responding it was Shinichi’s punishment. Like he’ll find a good phone for her.
“Also. . .” Ran stops in the middle of her explanation, face dreary in what Sonoko could only assume was another excuse for Shinichi making a dumb move.
“Also?”
“He hasn’t been calling me through his phone number” Ran ushered out, hands fiddling with her skirt as she silently looks down before continuing “ I don’t think he can even use it”
To say Sonoko didn’t know this information was a shock, she did and totally didn’t assume that Shinichi was blocking her for the 100th time whilst not recognising the fact she was the one to block him first resulting in an apology for her end.
“I’m sorry what?” Sonoko stuttered, thoughts completely emptied from this revelation of which she responded by turning towards Ran amidst the line of people that really wanted to watch a movie.
“It’s because of the-”
“Case! Case! I know, it’s always about cases with that man,” Sonoko angrily expressed, when was it not about a case in Shinichi’s eyes?
The cashier could only stare at them in complete tiredness when Sonoko had boldly asked two tickets before dragging Ran by the arm to a seated area inside the other side of the cinema lobby.
The cinema lobby itself luckily had a restaurant section for people like Sonoko and Ran to earth and wait for the perfect opportunity to head inside the cinema viewing when the timing is right. The movie wouldn’t start in a couple of minutes which gives more time for Sonoko to converse with Ran about the idiot at hand.
“One day he’s going to get himself into trouble and I’m not even sure if we can be there to help” silence can only be pursued as Sonoko couldn’t help but bite her tongue on what she just suggested.
“I had a dream about him” Ran stuttered out, barely containing her stress for those who know her as her quivering hands imply.
“Oh honey,” Sonoko expressed in sympathy like she had done so every time similar moments were to occur like today.
The truth was he had, very much so. Sonoko would have nightmares and at some point she questions whether those stories were fake or real due to how much trouble that murder magnet finds himself in. It was so simple when they were younger, when Shinichi wasn’t purely trusted by the police and thus wasn’t sent out on cases.
It would be a couple of minutes until the ad roll comes into play.
“Don’t worry about it Ran! He’ll be fine!” Sonoko assured, placing her hand towards Ran’s quivering one in reassurance.
“Are we even sure? He can’t even use his phone!”
“He probably lost it!”
“He doesn’t normally take cases this long Sono-” Ran cuts herself off in a mid-stutter as though she was contemplating on the next words she was about to say. - “He’s our age, why is he taking cases like this?”
“Because we befriended a murder magnet,” Sonoko sighed having one more relayed what she had always said towards the downturned Ran in need.
How can’t he see how amazing she is, truely. The girl’s stressing out about him and where is he? Probably nowhere for all they could know. He could really use someone to tell him- wait a minute.
“When’s the phone call?” Sonoko queried, body stiffened in anticipation upon what Ran could say in desperate hope.
“8:15pm” A whisper of a response from Ran was all Sonoko needed, eyes concentrated on the motivation. Sonoko could only speak from what she could gather from her chest.
It might not have been the best of speeches, but Sonoko could not just stand there as she watches her best friend shrivel up like this as if some random boy isn’t ruining her life..
Honestly it might have been the best speech Sonoko has performed since her poetry recital.
“We are going to watch that movie!”
“Sonoko-” A finger placed amongst her lips was all Ran needed before Sonoko could continue her amazing speech.
“-Hush darling, I’m speaking.” Sonoko notions towards the trouble Ran as her breathing slowly shortens enough for Sonoko to continue talking
“We are going to have fun,” Sonoko declares, standing proudly as her first part of her speech was completed. Poking at her best friend as she continues along. “WE are going to receive a call by that murder magnet at 8:15pm of which you will hear my yells of torment on how he could leave such a beautiful maid alone”
“Sonoko!-”
“- of which I will declare my love to you and we shall get married at sunset!” Sonoko finished with a flick of her wrist to allow Ran to softly rest on the palm of her hands.
“I’m not that beautiful,” Ran splutters, giving Sonoko an annoyed grin as though Ran has insulted her first hand.
Someone please remind Sonoko to reprimand Shinichi for not calling Ran cute, cause clearly Sonoko’s displays of admiration are not getting through Ran’s thick skull but then again. Neither did their upper classmate’s recreation of Shinichi’s speech give any hints so what does Ran know about density?
“No complaints from you, have you seen how the brat looks at you?” No seriously has Ran ever seen how the brat looked at Ran?
“He’s just a kid Sonoko!” Ran counters, somewhat disgruntled by the suggestion but from the tone of her relaxed voice to how rested she appears. Sonoko could honestly just take it as a win.
“Yeah, if you say a teenager possessing a brat is a brat then maybe I will believe you.” His mind could be much older at times, Sonoko noted, reminiscing the times of which one could see Conan at his most vulnerable.
Heck it was just recently when Sonoko noticed the way Conan looked at Ran when the two groups departed that afternoon. The face of sulken defeat as he quickly covers it in hopes of something good happening in the future. Sonoko should know, she bears that face on a daily basis.
“Sonoko!” The choir of laughter erupts from the pair as if a damn finally crashing amongst its weight.
Ran’s laugh was special, Ran herself was special and whilst Sonoko’s appearance is weak and someone who is unable to protect her. Sonoko does know one thing.
“Now what are we going to do Ran-chan?” Sonoko
“Have fun?”
“Have fun!” Sonoko confirmed, squishing the cheeks much to Ran’s dismay as she drags the poor girl into the cinema booth.
At the end of the day, Sonoko was there for support whether it be enabling or wingman in dating. Just like the day of which the first met underneath the sakura blossoms Sonoko associates with Ran, Sonoko will be there for Ran no matter what.
The movie was. . . fine. Deductions were never her interest and flowery poetry that was not about romance was definitely something that did not intrigued Sonoko. If given the opportunity to stay at home or to be at the cinema to waste money on a boring movie then Sonoko would pick the former.
But it was for Ran, Sonoko reminded herself, resting upon the chair as she reclined herself upon Ran’s shoulder. A faint cherry blossom smell could be noticed by Sonoko, a reminder of Ran’s as Sonoko slowly feels the sleep of her eyes settle more.
The movie was halfway over when she had noticed a small child enter the cinema booth unnoticed by most watching including Ran, too focused on the movie to bother noticing people entering and leaving. The child, reminiscent of another child Sonoko knew, quickly looked both ways before pocketing the glasses of which he was not using.
The child places himself on the chair with the dignity of someone about to die as Sonoko notices the pure paranoia emanating from the child as he once more scans the area of which no danger was present. Had Sonoko been awake a bit more she would have recognised the child whom she kept in prolonged contact with someone not of the brat but a childhood friend.
Their eyes glanced at each other but Sonoko was too tired to stay awake, too tired to notice when she had left the cinema or the conversation of which she held with Shinichi via phone, Sonoko’s phone no less. Not noticing the promises or unhinged way of how he talked but what she did notice however. Was the faint echo of her voice being heard when she goes outside of the cinema to notice the same brat with a bowtie clutched onto his hands speaking in the same manner of which Shinichi was speaking.
Sonoko knows her feelings, she knows how to see others such as the brat’s despair written across his face similar to that of a certain detective keeping face or a martial champion trying to focus on others before herself. She knows Shinichi’s feelings, the man of which Ran was talking to shared the same love of which Sonoko shared towards Ran, one day they will talk alone about these feelings but today was not today
Leaving the area and resting with Ran amongst their bed was comfortable as finally, sleep finally takes over Sonoko.
Hello
I am looking for a ShinRan Fanfiction i have read recently here on tumblr but now i cant find it anymore☹☹
In the story shinichi is away for a few week to take part at a convention in america I think but he mieses her so mich so he comes back home and proposed to ran.
Does anyone know where i can find it?
I was watching The Last Wizard Of The Century
And there is this one scene in the beginning of the movie where they talk about KID's crimes, so I was like OwO? lets see what all crimes KID has actually committed
hmm only 134 crimes? Impressive but I kinda expected it to be more, if I'm honest. But I guess since he gives the jewels back its kinda expected.
Okay so there are 12 countries who think that KID is some sort of menace which is legit amazing but I still don't think that it deserves that big of a man hunt for just one person to be honest.
THEN! Then they throw this at me
37,825,000,000 yen property damage only!?!?!?! What the ever loving Fuck?!?!?
I have no idea how much that much money actually is so I checked on google how much that translates to in USD
and apparently it's 328,402,323.75 dollars
Like that funky little magic thief has literally caused three hundred and twenty eight million four hundred and two thousand three hundred and twenty three dollar (and seventy five cents) in property damage.
Like Jesus Christ
No wonder Aoko thinks he is a menace to society and Nakamori keibu wants to catch so so badly.
What about Shinichi and Shiho? what would Papa Nakamori say to that? A kid is living on his own while his parents are home only a couple weeks a year put together. His best friend's dad clearly rather dislikes him so no support from there. He is regarded more like a young-ish colleague by the police. Agasa is an enabler with a very poor understanding of what is safe for teenagers. And than this kid, who no one looks after, gets doused with experimental poison?! And he stalks his almost killers at every chance he gets?! Where is his self-preservation instinct?! Kindly explain yourselves, people?!
And Shiho? She's only a year older than Shinichi. Parents are shit. The only semi-responsible person who she had was her sister and she got killed by their employers. The employers who are in that same criminal syndicate the others are trying to take down that they were in because of aforementioned shit parents. Obviously, they do not care for their own vic-khm-employees mental health or else the kid would not have been so desperate, depressed and nearly suicidal enough to swallow her own poison.
Nakamori after learning KID has assassins after him and is inlyb17: WHY THE FUCK DID NOBODY NOTICE ANYTHING!? WHY THE HELL IS A FUCKING CHILD TAKING ON AN ENTIRE SYNDICATE WITH NOTHING BUT A GODDAMN TOY GUN!!!
Hakuba: *Inches away*
KID: Ah... the whole point of my tricks is to distract you keibu~
Hakuba: ...
Nakamori: Hakuba! Tell this idiot how stupid it is for him to try to take on an entire syndicate in his own!!!
Hakuba: I.. uh... *sweats*
KID: *cackles* He's fighting them too! Or at least trying to catch one of their top assassins~
Nakamori: WHY THE FUCK ARE TEENAGERS FIGHTING A COVERT CRIME SYNDICATE!!! WHERE THE FUCK ARE YOUR PARENTS!?
Oh yeah Papa Nakamori.
Superintendent Hakuba doesn't know what's coming for him.
Saguru being included in Papa Nakamoris Family is always thw best.
DCMK x KHR Crossover
Recently I had the idea for this crossover and had sadly discovered that there are practically no works for it. Which, I get it. The two universes are very dissimilar at first glance. DetCon is just so... lawful. But then I started thinking how this might work anyway and found that the two universes could work together. With DetCon as a sort of flip side or the POV Outsider for the KHR mafia shenanigans.
Point 1. Magic! Koizumi is a witch, and Kaito's looking for Pandora. The supernatural obviously exists in the DCMK world even if we never see it from Conan's POV. All we do get is a magic drug with an effect similar to the Cursed Pacifiers. But it is still something.
Point 2. The way most murderers in Conan frame their crimes as a suicide or accident. Also, how all of them make sure to leave pretty much no evidence behind. All of this is to make Shinichi-Conan look smarter, being able to figure out the murder from so few clues, but! The murderers still decided to go about it in that way and no other. They all seem to follow a certain template. One or two people being elaborate I could buy, but not all of them! This too has a simple explanation in the form of Gosho writing it like that, but in-universe, if we look at the characters as actual people it makes no sense.
Here's what I propose for this crossover. The world of organized crime is built on secrets. Unlike in our world, it is not just about not being caught by the authorities, they hide their Flames. Revealing which will break the Omerta, and no one sane wants Bermuda's attention. The Flames allow for more untraceable crimes, Storm Flames to Disintegrate all the evidence left behind, Sun Flames to make the target suddenly contract cancer, and Mist Flames to make them walk off a cliff or take a knife to their wrists by themselves. No authorities the wiser and no evidence to speak of.
Many criminal organizations to the outside observer are upstanding corporations, with their leaders in high places in society. And when you watch the TV talking about how this upstanding person died in a car crash or how that upstanding person committed suicide so often. Practically every other month. And you see completely random people reported dead by the news in a similar fashion even more often, every other day or so, you come to the conclusion that that's a common and even 'normal' or 'expected' way to die. "I just need to make it look like an accident. No other evidence and no one will question it," they think. After all, accidents are so common.
Point 3. The way police handle the crime scene. Why do they not move the dead body? Why are teenagers, little kids, and weird scientist grandpas allowed to stand over a corpse and theorize about their killer? Again could be lazy writing on Gosho's part or just a way to showcase Shinichi-Conan's genius. But what if it isn't? No one is capable of solving a murder case in a couple hours! And the people in the police are not stupid. They're actually very intelligent from what we see in the anime. Give these people a reasonable time frame and they will have the correct guy in handcuffs with bulletproof evidence of guilt.
But now consider the above. What if when they get involved in such a crime often when they are halfway through, they get /incentives/ to stop the investigation? Or suddenly, the person in charge loses interest in the case on their own or just forgets about it completely, seemingly out of the blue? And when you try to bring it to their attention, there's no record of the crime. It is not superstition if it happens as often as it does, is it? Pre-Conan Shinichi may have thought himself an unremovable deeply needed person for the First Division but it's not like that. They could very well manage without him and most of them would want him nowhere near a crime scene. Not out of jealousy, but because teenagers shouldn't see dead bodies. The world at large has no knowledge of Flames as per KHR canon, but that doesn't mean people don't witness their effects.
Imagine living in this world and working for the police. You go to work with this sense of foreboding every single day, that this might be the time one of your coworkers will come in a bit weird with a vacant look in their eyes whenever you breach certain topics, like where they'd been this weekend (they witnessed a Cloud and a Mist get into a fight in a bar, but they are convinced they spent the whole day home. The Mist user made sure of that) or forget an entire case with 10 people dead (the culprit was a Storm user and when they found the police getting closer to the truth than they liked the Storm DISINTEGRATED those memories for the officer) and when you will try to remind them no evidence of it exists.
And you just know there had to be outside influence for this to happen. This doesn't happen naturally. So, you keep your head down because you are well aware, that if you go looking or start following up on this case you will be the next one with the vacant look in your eyes or undetectable amnesia about a gruesome massacre. You learn to look the other way in self-preservation even if your morals are screaming at you that you let a murderer walk free tonight and maybe there will be more dead by his hand come morning.
And then there's this high schooler. He wants to be a detective and he's bulldozing right into this world you work in and you'd much rather he stay home or go play football. You don't want to see him like the way many of your coworkers are after a run-in with organized crime. And you know that is what it must have been to be so systematic. And then it turns out he is a genius. He can solve the crime in a couple hours instead of the weeks it would take you.
So you skirt protocol. It's better to do that than allow another murderer to walk free, you reason to yourself. Besides you are not actually doing anything serious, just a couple of allowances here or there. And it pays off. Your job is getting done and criminals get the consequences they deserve. All is good. But every night you pray and hope, that this bright teenager wouldn't feel like he could do anything and then turn up with that so many times cursed vacant look when you ask him about his weekend. (And then he disappears....)
Like, imagine that. And it is not only a Japan issue, no. The US allowed Sera to crime scenes too and so did Britain for Saguru, so it is obviously an international issue. I could bet some of the Flame-induced amnesia or subtle personality changes are the reason that no one reacts all that much to the various sleeping deduction kings and queens. I bet they find it eerie not because of the tranquilizer, or the lips not moving, or for the many other reasons it is deeply unsettling, but because they saw all of it on various colleagues just in a more subtle manner. I bet they are grateful for once to be on the benevolent side of that particular phenomenon. It might also be why no one would be surprised if suddenly, one day, Mouri lost his edge. They see everything, they acknowledge it, and they're waiting for the other shoe to drop.
Point 4. The Black Organization in canon is made out to operate in a similar fashion to how the mafia is portrayed in KHR. You can expect anyone to be from there, from a famous actress to the barista down the road. But, from the vibe I'm getting from the Black Org, they seem a rather new group in comparison to the Vongola or the Cavalone or the other 'old blood'. A newer organization would be easier to infiltrate and just look at how many spies are among the Men in Black? I'd bet most of the old mafia families' members are generational by now with rare new members. And that is not how the Black Org are portrayed.
Shinichi may think there's only one worldwide criminal Organization after becoming Conan, but the fact that he caught onto them in the first place makes them seem like new upstarts who want the power that the 'old blood' has. Even if Shinichi dismantles them and sleeps peacefully after their takedown, the mafia will still exist and continue on like always. Families like that die off often enough, the mafia at large will not be worried. And this is something Shinichi will not see. After all, he grew up with people being reported dead on the news with regularity and he uncovered enough murder cases with no ties to the underworld to believe most of them to be caused by the hands of a person who snapped.
TL;DR In a crossover setting between KHR and DCMK, I see the latter as a POV Outsider to the mafia as we are introduced to it in KHR, and the exploration of all the implications thereof on the civilian population.
What do you think?
The funniest thing that no one talks about when discussing the Nakamori x Kogoro ship is how Conan lives with Kogoro, and Kaito is basically Ginzo's adopted son and the two would have to interact if their respective paternal figures suddenly got together. Imagine them moving in together or just getting serious with dating... Ran and Aoko are best friends already. Conan is squinting in suspicious incredulity at Kaito (if he knows KID looks so much like him, if not he'd figure it out pretty quick) and Kaito is trying to subtly inch away from the murder magnet child in case he kicks a soccer ball at him.
Meanwhile, with Kogoro and Ginzo:
Ginzo: And this is Kaito-kun. He's our neighbor and a very talented aspiring magician. His mother is basically never around, so I hope you don't mind him being around a lot. The kid needs some parental presence in his life... And he's my little Aoko's best friend... I couldn't not
Kogoro: Fucking absentee parents. The brat is Conan, his parents are using us as a babysitting service. I swear, he didn't even get one call from them in two months. By this point he's mine too...
Happy Halloween from @cleflink and me! Since I had a little more time I wanted to do some Halloween art and asked clef about one of their ideas. Things… escalated just a little. Oops. Anyway, here is the promised Halloween art (we didn‘t forget about that) and a little teaser for an upcoming collab you can look forward to! 💕 Sometime in the future lol Ghost AU FTW! (Again big thank you to @cleflink for being so motivated for this and discussing all those amazing ideas, it‘s always a pleasure ❤️ please check out their fics as they are all just amazing!)
More guardian angel au! When you realize your guardian angel literally got kicked out.
Shinichi: You know, not every problem can be solved with arsenic.
Shiho: That’s why I carry cyanide too.
