Reading about how intersex athletes have been treated is so fucking horrible. The countless lies and human rights violations. The discrimination and how it's ruined the lives of so many people is so awful. There has been no apologies from any athletics comptetions or organizations. They have blood on their hands. Just a tw for intersexism and mental health issues and suicide in the next paragraph because it can get pretty heavy.
Annet Negesa, who was a middle distance runner. She was suddenly barred from competing due to her hormones. No one told her why. She was then told she needed to take medication to lower her testosterone, then what she was told was switched. She was lied to about a surgery that she was told was like an injection and would let her compete again. She woke up with scars and had had a gonadectomy. That violation of basic human rights and medical ethics combined with inadequate postsurgical care basically ended her career. She deserves justice. She deserves apologies from the Olympics and everyone single doctor who was involved in it, and compensation and the promise that it should never have happened and will never happen again. She. Needs. Justice.
Pratima Gaonkar needs justice. She was a rising track and field star. After forced sex verificatiom she killed herself. The way media and news treated her after her death was disgusting. She deserves and needs justice. Her family deserves justice.
Santhi Soundarajan had her medals stripped and was treated as an outcast after forced sex verification showed she had androgen insensitivity syndrome. She was treated as an outcast, her gender was mocked. She's spoken out about how much discrimination she's faced, and how badly she's been treated. She now works as a coach, but was barred from competing. She deserves justice.
Caster Semenya deserves justice. Francine Niyonsaba deserves justice. Margaret Wambui deserves justice. Barbra Banda deserves justice. Beatrice Masilingi and Christine Mboma deserve justice.
The racism and intersexism and horrible human rights violations and medical abuse these women have faced for the supposed crime of being intersex and good at a sport is horrible. They deserve justice, but the organizations that perpetuate these atrocities don't seem to care. It's so fucking horrible.

Honestly, the amount of assumptions that other trans people make about trans people's bodies based on whether they're transmasc or transfem is a large part of why I don't identify with those terms currently. I don't want people to make assumptions about my body and how it functions, my birth sex, how I was socially raised, my lived experiences, or anything else based on what gender identity I currently identify with. I remember a time when the trans community felt very united on the idea that nobody ever needs to know what's in your pants, and that it's fucking weird to ask - but nowdays, with all the discourse surrounding labels, it feels like everyone is much too comfortable pressing for details about what genitals you were born with and what your original birth certificate says.
Another part of it is, as an intersex person, I feel completely excluded from these terms. Every definition, every discourse, every discussion of transfemininity and transmasculinity is completely perisex-centered. It feels like there's no place for me at all with regards to these terms, and it makes me feel like I can't really use either label, even though sometimes I wish to. Even when intersex people are brought up, it always turns into debates about how close an intersex person has to be to a binary sex to be able to appropriately claim transfemininity or transmasculinity; we are still being violently forced into perisex ideas of transness for the sake of upholding a binary.

You cannot be a centrist on reproductive rights. You cannot be a centrist on trans and gay rights. You cannot be a centrist on intersex people and our rights and our bodies. You cannot be a centrist on social security, disability, retirement, etc. You cannot be a centrist on immigration. You cannot be a centrist on war. You're either pro human rights, anti war, pro immigration, or you're not.
The very act of 'centrism' is allowing fascism to exist because you 'understand both sides' or don't want to pick a side. You are just as bad as the nazis and those who hang with them, because you don't denounce them like a normal person. It's just a more pretty looking way of saying you're a right wing fascist freak. If you can listen to a fascist and go 'well I just don't agree with them :)' you are enabling that fascist. You might as well chant 'kill the jews! Trans people are child predators!' too if you can listen to that and not actively denounce it. I don't care if this is an extremist view, it's just a fact. You cannot be a centrist on human rights, I don't trust anyone who says they are because they enable the people against human rights, and may just be mask on anti rights themselves.
After all, doesn't Ben Shapiro call himself a liberal?

this pride month can we please at least listen to intersex people. for example
people who claimed intersex people didn't want to be included were largely perisex bigots
stop using amab/afab to refer to or infer sex characteristics and life experiences
stop using transfeminine/transmasculine to infer someone's agab (and subsequently their sex characteristics and life experiences)
stop using tma/tme to mean "trans women"/"everyone else"
man and woman aren't opposites, gender isn't binary
male and female aren't opposites, sex isn't binary
"contradictory" labels aren't the death knell of queer people
intersex people aren't "sexually disordered" they are fucking intersex
"intersex" is not a thing you can transition to be
intersex people don't owe conformity
intersex people don't have to tell you shit about their bodies
the "cis kids being given hormones" a lot of people mention in their trans activism include a lot of intersex kids being medically abused
can we all understand this like really really quickly. is any of this very hard to wrap your head around ?
