Fanfiction Writers - Tumblr Posts
to all the fic writers out there who have made 2021 bearable and have given us all countless hours of happiness and escapism, thank you so much
A shout out to all the writers out there who don’t make the rec lists or have all the buzz or get all the traffic and attention or kudos. Your work is still valuable and appreciated and loved, and without you and your fics, fandom would be so much poorer.
Keep on writing and creating and sharing your works. You have an audience who loves you.
My brain: I have thought of another YuGiOh AU fic!
Me: No, don't. There's too many tabs open already.
Brain: It's too late.
Me: Come on, dude, don't.
Brain: It's already in motion.
Me: Well, put it out of motion!
Brain: *new tab opens*
Me: NOOOOO!!!!!
I don’t know who needs to hear this but be nice to fanfic authors. Reblog their stuff. Tell them you liked it. How you felt when reading. What school assignment you didn’t finish because of how captivating their story was. Don’t just scream to your friends about it. But tell them.
So many wonderfully talented people out there don’t get the praise they need. If their work brought you joy, make their day better by telling them it did.
Best line(s) you've written recently?
I'll go first:
She wiped her eyes. “I’m trying to tell you… that you decide your own self-worth. I’m trying to tell you that… some of your hopes should be in yourself and not just other people. I’m trying to tell you you write your own story and I’m happy to be in it with you… but you can’t give me the pen.”
Looking forward to hearing from everyone! (⁀ᗢ⁀)
I’d like everyone to see this

I hope fanfiction writers know that I think of them like celebrities
I literally scream a little bit whenever one of them interacts with a comment i made on one of their posts like they are literally famous in my mind
thank you fanfiction writers you are literally sometimes the only thing keeping me alive
So, I left my boyfriend in my bedroom for literally three minutes yet he managed to find my 2007 fanfictions and he read them... He whispered softly: "My god..."
The Discovery Of Something Wonderful
Anyone else discover an author after reading one of their stories and then feel bereft after you've consumed everything they've written and realize there will be no more?
For me, the joy of having read their work at all outweighs the sorrow but I've found if I let some time pass I return to the stories and read them all over again.
It creates this bond between reader and author as I do so, imaginary perhaps, but a bond nonetheless. I think about the author a little more with each reread: what were they thinking as they wrote this passage, or imagine them giggling or crying as they wrote another. With famous authors (looking at you Ms. Jane Austin) we have historical records, but with fanfiction authors (save for the few that have gone on to commercial success), most of the time we have but tiny glimpses into their world, occasionally replies to comments w/online sites such as AO3 etc. (which I love)
So I would say to them, keep writing, please. Keep your privacy if you wish, for I understand the world today is weird and wild on the web, but please keep writing. For perhaps someday a year, two years, a decade or more from now someone will read your work and that rabbit hole of the world you created will live and the characters come alive in their imagination and another bond that reaches across time and space will have been forged.

I'm reblogging this as an encouragement to those creators out there, the artists, the writers whose words inspire us to feel the range and depth of emotion and all of the messy wonderfulness that humans possess.
Keep going friends, send your beacons into the void. Voyage into space despite the harsh conditions and leave your works to twinkle like the stars that they are. Space is vast, and the time and effort may seem futile, but your labors of love are never in vain.
To the readers out there, reblog and comment on the works you enjoy, it means more than you may ever know.

To writers of lovely works of long fiction,
As a reader, I really really appreciate those of you who use the "Keep Reading" button after your summary/warnings/short lead-in paragraph, etc.
I reblog a number of works, and the "Keep Reading" insert functions as a tidy way to have those reblogs interspersed with other nonfiction type reblogs that I also enjoy.
Thanks for coming to this nonTED talk.
A fan.
Enjoy it? Reblog it!
Here's a reminder that likes are great, but reblogs are greater. Reblogs help spread content across Tumblr so that more people can enjoy it too. Thanks to reblogs, I've read and enjoyed a variety of works and thoughts by others that I might not have seen if not for a reblog.
Spread the love, reblog!
Make sure you have this setting toggled, particularly for all those who post their writing or art on here!
When you find a fanfic writer you like:
my toxic trait is to write fanfiction and then see the potential for an original story---so i start writing it and now i can never finish those fanfic stories
late night writer thoughts
my life is a chaotic mess at the moment, and every single bloody time it becomes chaotic, my writing muse wakes up from her hibernation and decides now is the time to write …. Wtf??
ATTENTION ALL FANFIC WRITERS
I would like to announce my appreciation, respect, and gratitude for every single one of your works that you post not only on Tumblr, but literally any platform that allows you to post fanfiction. Recently, I made the whirl-wind decision to write a Robb Stark x fem!Reader fanfic (not even to post because my anxiety could never allow such an atrocity to publicly exist) and now 2 days passed, and I have maybe 10-ish bullet points of how I want this fic to go, and spent 3 hours today trying to figure out the distance between the Twins and Seagard and the amount of time spent it would take to get there on horse. Not even taking into account of the time spent of the different types of horses in the ASOIAF universe and equestrian terminologies (as well as figuring out their real-world equivalents’) and trying figuring out exactly how heightened are a direwolf’s senses are compared to a regular wolf’s and how much faster are they in comparison to horses.
Seriously, how do any of you do this without pay or only ask for commission??? It completely boggles my mind to know that you guys do this willingly, that you take the time out of your schedules and use it to go through this process, that you go out of your way to provide content for a fandom in a way that may not even guarantee you praise that you deserve!!!!! I cannot stress ENOUGH how grateful I am to all of you. I have been on Tumblr for a while, and I have been part of many fandoms, but I have never truly understood what you go through in order to post your content and WILLINGLY WITHOUT PAYMENT!
You guys are so honestly the best, and you deserve so much appreciation and praise for what you provide to your fandoms. I really wanted thank you guys from the bottom of my heart.
Changing Posts' Fonts
Does anyone have any idea how to change the title fonts on Tumblr posts? And if anyone does, can you make it like a step-by-step tutorial of it with pictures and tag me?
art is done with a purpose --- mainly, that purpose is to serve people, to be liked/enjoyed/experimented. when talking about fanfiction, this purpose intensifies.
i'm not guilt tripping anyone, but when you don't comment and just like, you're not helping our motivation. most of us love the validation we get from someone obviously enjoying our work so please --- comment. even if its key smashing. we appreacite it, A LOT.
most of us, if not all of us, are friendly. i've made countless of friends with the people who have appreciated my stuff, requested more and enjoyed it. i will always answer kindly to anyone who has supported me, who has believed in me.
I'm sorry, cringe culture can't come to the phone right now. Why? Oh, cause it's dead!
